Tonight was Meatless Monday, and the girlfriend and I were looking for a vegetarian restaurant to enjoy the evening. This was the second result on our search, and on a whim we decided to give it a try. We were blown away. The service was fantastic. Extremely nice, abiding to safety protocols in a COVID-19 world, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering suggestions from the wine to the entree, none of which disappointed. The appetizer, Samosas, were cooked perfectly (we even had to say to the waitress it was perfect, no hesitation) as was our entree, the Vegetable Combo for 2, where we got the Nirvana Tofu, the Saag Paneer, and the Malai Kofta. To top it all off was the Gulab Jaamun, a satisfyingly sweet ending to an excellent dinner. Throughout the experience our water was refilled regularly, our food was delivered promptly and tasted freshly cooked, and our table positioned just outside the restaurant gave us great seating on Brand. To sum up the eating experience in a (relatively) funny sentence: "I regret I have but one stomach to give." I cannot recommend this place enough. We are going back to try non-vegetarian options on a day other than Meatless Monday, and I've no doubt we'll have an equally fantastic experience then too. I have never had Indian food before but I've been seeing so many reviews that I started to crave it. Decided to try this spot and it was just ok. As soon as you enter the restaurant you can immediately smell all the spices that they use in the food. We got seated and the utensils and glasses were so stained and dirty that we had to request for plastic. Our server was just ok as well. No smiles or anything just took our order and that's pretty much it. We got the butter chicken and the chicken biryani. The meat itself was good but all the sides were untouchable in my opinion. It's been a long time since I've eaten Indian food, I have always liked their flavors and spice and this place did not lack those. My favorite out of all the savory dishes we ordered is the Lamb curry. I liked their Mango Lassi (not pictured) as well; it's my first time trying it and its taste is close to the mango shakes I had in the Philippines, so my husband and I really loved it. Came across this hidden Gem in Glendale. The only reason I say hidden gem is because I didn't know this place existed until tonight. I wish I would have gotten our servers names so that I can name them so that I could name them one by one one by one, but they were all fantastic. very attentive and quick. The ambience is simply beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. I have never had an Indian hot chai before and my wife has never had an Indian iced tea with sweetened condensed milk. Since they are offering outdoor dining and wife liked it last time she was here with her friends. We decided to drive here so I get a chance to try it, as well!. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Nirvana Chicken, Lamb Sheesh Kebab, Garlic Naans and Tandoori Rotis. The food and Curry portion was less than compared to other Indian restaurants I have been to. Apart from that the food tasted good. We also ordered Dessert Platter and the Ginger ice cream was the best out of all. The strawberries were missing from what we saw in the picture. Well, it's the pandemic and we were all excited for some great Indian food. I noticed there were several low Yelp ratings, but ignored them because I have good memories of the All India Cafe in Pasadena. Their website is a little wonky, but we were able to order in advance which is a plus. The food was not quite ready on time, but that was okay. The chicken tikka was a big disappointment - I make better tandoori chicken on my grill. The vindaloo was so-so, dal was fine, garlic naan was good. Will keep looking out for something better. I've been to All India Cafe three times now - all during COVID-19. Once for lunch and twice for dinner time al fresco dining. I've concluded that I don't find the food to be the tastiest. Not terrible, but also not the typically flavorful Indian cuisine I was expecting. And the dinner portions are not so huge as some people have posted, in my opinion. The curry we had on one visit didn't come with rice, which I found a little weird. The new al fresco dining is perfect, and the service is pleasant enough. There is a decent amount of space between tables, as the seating area has been extended into the street (with City of Glendale concrete barriers.) The food is presented very well, but I haven't felt totally satisfied yet. The vegetable pakora is very tasty, as is the garden salad. Everything else I've had just falls short for me. read more

I love Indian Cuisine and I've visited several restaurants in the area, but this was my first time here. Because if COVID-19, I made an order to-go; however the staff was always super friendly and attentive - even after I ordered. By the way, the food came out really fast! (there was not a lot of people at lunch, but still) So, let's talk about the food. I ordered the "Chicken Tikka" lunch special. I have to say, this was one of the most delicious Chicken Tikka I've had in LA (attention: not Tikka Masala, just Tikka). It comes with very abundant and flavorful Basmati Rice, that also expelled a beautiful aroma as soon as I opened the box. The Aloo Mutter was delicious, as well as the Dal of the Day (lentil curry). Even tho the salad was small it tasted fresh and it was properly seasoned. Oh, and the naan was on point! To finalize, the drink: I had an Iced Indian Tea... and they served the tea with the milk on the side, so you can pour to your own taste. Isn't that great? I don't like sugary teas, and this option was perfect for me. 1 main dish + 4 sides + 1 drink for $15? That tasted that good? I can't think of anything better than that. Ordered the $10.95 Chicken Tikka Masala lunch special to go. It was not good. Tikka Masala sauce tasted only of cream--there was no spice flavor at all, and tasted like it was cooked in vodka pasta sauce! And the white meat chicken inside was so very very dry. The lentil daal and the vegetable aloo gobi were similarly bland and watery. The naan included was very buttery (not bad); the rest of the meal however was very disappointing. There was no flavor of spice at all! (And this lack of flavor is not because I have covid, I don't!) I hate to blast restaurants that are already struggling enough during the pandemic, but this was just seriously below expectations. I've had much better experiences at the Pasadena branch. So this review is long overdue. My husband and I had the best experience at All India cafe last week and honestly each time we go is better than the last. I don't know how they do it! My husband's favorite food in the world is Indian, but since going vegan our options were extremely limited. Fortunately I found All India cafe on IG and discovered that although they are not vegetarian, they do have tons of vegetarian and even vegan options. The vibe is really cute inside, and everyone is really nice and extremely welcoming. They play Bollywood movies and it's just a really fun vibe. You'll definitely feel at home. I want to give a special shoutout to Deep who not only helped me sneak my husband's birthday cake in, but also gathered the rest of the staff to come over and sing happy birthday to him. I didn't and wouldn't have asked for that but it really made his night and felt really special. I could go on and on about how much we love this place. Just do yourself a favor and check it out. Not many places were open and without waits...We found this with all the positive yelp reviews and thought we would give it a try. It was cool decor to sit on the cushions at the low table. We ordered the meal for two and it was good. Shahi paneer can be different everywhere and I guess we just are used to the one we order on the west side which is creamier and has more of a cashew taste. Solid 3 but just nothing amazing. Also the girl who took our order kept trying to upsell us - we are already ordering like a $45 meal it was surprising how she went down each item on list and was like "it comes with naan, but you can upgrade to our garlic for $3...it comes with samosa, but you can upgrade and get two more for $4...it comes with rice, but you can upgrade and get saffron rice for $...you get the picture. Easily the most authentic Indian food Ive ever had (and Indian is one of my favs)! We did the non veggie combo for two and it was the best decision and bang for your buck. The whole meal, with drinks, was $112 ($60 without drinks). Starting with the samosas, they were HUGE and they did not skimp on the filling; the chicken tikki masala was mouthwatering chicken and actually super tender (many places overcook it) while the spices were on point; the saag paneer was perfectly cooked and not too watery (the spinach wasnt overcooked/over-stewed); the eggplant bharta wasnt colored with food dye or over mashed; The chicken tandoori came out hot and juicy! You can sub for brown rice (+$1) and garlic naan (+$2) which I highly recommend! Last was dessert which was basically rose syrup donuts. Their drinks are sweet, so just prepare yourself if you're not a huge fan of sweets. Our waitress Sonia was 10/10 and so patient with us! She, and everyone else, made us feel so welcomed and checked in multiple times to ensure everything was okay. I was glad that I decided to pop in here for lunch after hitting up the Glendale Galleria for the rest of my Birthday Freebies, hehe! Parking: Two hours street parking - pay at the parking station and put the ticket on top of your dashboard. All India Cafe is located right across from Damon's Steakhouse on Brand Boulevard. Upon entrance, all three servers working the floor were busy behind the kitchen counter preparing the food, but they did noticed me. I was then greeted and seated. After checking out the menu, here's what I got: Drink: Included as part of the meal, I selected the Nimbu Panni. Consisting of housemade lemonade with fresh ginger and garnished with a lime. It was sweet, refreshing and fizzy. The fresh ginger was lightly grated and help aide with digestion. Appetizer: Aloo Tikki (Potato Croquette) for me. Topped with diced onions, which I removed and didn't eat with. The Aloo Tikki was delicious and "meaty" tasting even though the mixture was made of boiled potatoes and peas. A lovely little snack to start off with. Choice of regular naan (flatbread) or garlic naan. I chose the latter and it tasted flaky and fluffy! Served with two huge pieces, which was great for dipping into my Chicken Tikka Masala sauce, Aloo Matar (potatoes and pea soup) and Dal of the day (lentil soup). Entree: For my protein, I selected the Chicken Tikka Masala. The chicken pieces were chunky and moist. The curry sauce itself was savory and had a little bit of heat to it. My meal also comes with the following sides: Generous portion of fluffy Basmati rice, crisp Cucumber & Lettuce Salad with light yogurt dressing, Aloo Matar and Dal of the Day. The Aloo Matar was good, but the soup itself was way too liquid-y and turned lukewarm quickly. I liked the Dal of the Day a lot more since it stayed hot and fresh throughout and the pureed lentils were really tasty and hearty. Service: They were nice and decent. They only approached me if I needed them for anything else. Otherwise, once my food and drinks were brought out, they left me alone to my own devices. I never felt rushed, which I greatly appreciated. The only two other times I interacted with them was to ask what Aloo Matar and Dal of the Day was and for the bill afterwards. Ambience and Decor: The vibes here are pretty chilled. The dining room is spacious, clean and lightly dimmed. Indian decor and artwork is adorned all over. The seats are pretty comfortable with butcher paper covering the tabletops for easy cleanup afterwards. There's only one restroom per sex. The Women's restroom is clean, nicely ventilated, stocked and well-maintained. Overall, I enjoyed my DineLA lunch and look forward to coming back here another time. read more

I've coming here regularly since they opened in Glendale quite a few years ago, and I'm actually surprised I never left a review here on Yelp. I'm eating at my desk now (I frequently get to go food for lunch - and while most Indian restaurants do not offer a separate reasonably priced lunch, All India Cafe does - which is nice since ordering a la carte is usually too expensive for a solo lunch. I love Indian food, and I've always said my two best Indian meals were in London and Singapore, which is not to detract from All India Cafe. The bottom line is as far as I'm concerned, All India is the very best among quite a few Indian restaurants in the general area. EVERY TIME I eat their food, like right this minute, I find myself mumbling over and over, OMG this is SOOOO good, yum!!! All India Cafe doesn't have a flashy name, but their food is legit. They've become my go-to shop for korma in Glendale. I've ordered their chicken korma (with nuts and raisins) on multiple occasions for delivery, and I always find it to be consistent. Tender white meat chicken with creamy sauce, a hint of sweetness and perfect viscosity. I hate when curry sauce is too runny, but All India passes the test. It's also quite mild, so if you aren't a baby like me, you should request it to be spicy. One order of basmati rice is good for two portions, and one order of korma is easy enough to split into two as well - so leftover lunch is not a stretch here. Their naan is also nice and fluffy, and comes with two pieces. I will definitely keep ordering from them! read more

Just thinking about this makes me want to buy it for breakfast. It's essentially a roti stuffed in one of the most delicious fusion of flavors I've had to date, offered in chicken, lamb or cauliflower/potato. I went with the chicken this time and I was blown away. Surprisingly, the wrap didn't make me feel as stuffed as a regular tortilla-wrapped burrito would have. It was fantastic. Parking: there is a 90 min lot on California and orange. Came here to try their Masala Dosa. It was okay, pricy for what it was and the dosa was very small in my opinion, it was around $8.99?
