I have less functionality than before I called for service. The friendly sell-me-everything-in-the-truck guy became quite snarly when I called him back to look at the (now worse) opener lights. Yep, the guy put in writing that I need a new opener (another $1500), and yep, I was stupid in listening to the fast talk for how the new springs and bearings would make everything work better. The old door came apart as it was opening, trapping a car in the garage and leaving a large gap in the doorway. Asher came by the next day to give me an estimate, and while he was here he opened the door enough that I could get the car out and then was able to close the door to secure the garage. He did that at no charge and with no promise of getting the replacement job. The replacement cost was very reasonable and was completed two days later. The new door is much better than the old and operates much more smoothly. I can't recommend this service more highly!

I used the "get a quote" tool on Yelp and asked that half a dozen people to provide a quote to repair my Torquemaster spring system. All of them came back and told me that the spring I had as not repairable and wanted to install a more traditional spring. The prices ranged from $300 - $500 but Asher from Local First was quick to respond to my questions, he had great reviews, and his price was near the cheapest. When he arrived, he quickly analyzed my installation and then went to work. Before I knew it, he had completed the swap out, and the door was back in working order. The owner and his assistant started taping and other preparation apx 9:30a and completed about 4 hours later. The spray equipment that he brought wouldn't work so he asked to borrow some of my rollers and trays and I gladly obliged. It was approaching 5:00p and only apx half of the entry way was done. They ended up not completing the two small jobs until 7p. I carried out various items (ladders, fan) to hasten the process. I have spent the first work day following the job cleaning the mess that was left, ie bits of tape, paint splotches, mopping etc. You would think as much taping that was done that there would be clean lines but there are still areas that I need to remove leaked paint. My wife and I treat workers like human beings when they do work in our home. Some appreciate it, some take it as a sign of weakness to be exploited. Most of the work looks ok but it took 10 hours!! Also, he didn't miss a beat charging me for his services but I didn't get to charge for the 2 Purdy rollers (about $5) he borrowed from me. We provided beverages and lunch too! - never again! Again - nice person who needs to better understand painting and business.
