This past Fall, it became apparent that it was time to re-side my house. I had replaced a few Windows myself , and needed to repair the trim around them. However, a couple of weeks later, a wind storm tore a section of my siding off and deposited it in my front yard, Changing My Scope of work considerably... As with any sizable project, I requested bids from 3 or 4 vendors. I looked at Hardy Board Siding and vinyl. Of all of the Vendors, Don and the Prestige Team came in with a respectable price and a good product that looks good on My house. In fact, they were the quickest to get my price quote to me also. When it came time for installation, they shined. Although it's a one man show, Mark, the installer, was detail oriented and asked for clarification several times on some of the more questionable areas. They even brought theirWindow Guy in and he re-seated the windows I installed because they were inset too far...at no additional cost! We had our home sided by this company - Prestige Products. Don came out to take a look and gave us an estimate. He was straight forward with what needed to be done. It was the easiest consultation we ever had. There was no pressure. we did not pay until the job was completely finished and we were satisfied. Easy to work with and kept us in the loop. we had a lot of snow happening while the siding was going up (so much snow). Mark was the technician who did the install. He was fabulous to work with. Phenominal sales/service experience, installation, and product! Our 70-yr old house feels completely different inside after the installation of Prestige Products' CraneBoard insulated siding with a vapor barrier underneath. Our heater runs far less even on the coldest days, plus it's quieter and we have the confidence that our home is moisture- and critter-proof. From our first sales, survey and measurement meeting with Don through installation by Mark, this experience was seamless, pleasant, on time, and through and through a professional experience by Prestige Products from start to finish. Mark is an artisan and our home looks GREAT! The pricing for our siding replacement project from Lifetime, another leading siding vendor, was about the same but boy-oh-boy did we buy the better of the two (Lifetime's Hardie siding R value zero, vs. Prestige's CraneBoard R value 3 not counting the vapor barrier which adds even more). PLUS Prestige expects payment on completion vs. other siding contractors which want at least 50% up front, no matter how long delivery of materials and installation takes. Don the owner was great! Very honest and upfront about pricing etc. Mark was a very detailed worker. I have a house built in 1949 and it looks like a brand new house. Clean up was great, nothing left behind. Have a 4 year old grandson who periodically "checked" on the work. Mark was great taking a quick moment to speak to him, never dismissive. Called for a quote. Never heard anything back to set up in home consultation. 2 days later get a call from completely different window company. They stated they got my name and number from prestige windows. 1) Didn't want my name and number out to some random window company. Not sure how the reviews are 5 star when can't even get a call back from Prestige and they sub the work to other companies. Red flag! Dustin let me know that they don't typically do the job I was looking have done, but he would be more than happy to swing by my place and check it out. Upon arrival, Dustin looked at the project and gave me great advice on how to move forward even though it wasn't with Prestige. I contacted Prestige Products when it was time to replace our aging vinyl siding. Don came out to measure and showed us different materials. He also explained how critical the installation is for an excellent result. We had a slightly lower competitor's quote but in the end decided to go with Prestige Products. The other contractor wanted 50% upfront, Don not only didn't ask for a deposit, we paid until the job was finished and we were completely satisfied. From the start, Don was very honest and straightforward. He is definitely passionate about what he does and it shows. It was not a standard high pressure sales situation, it was more of a casual conversation about windows. Don quoted me a price lower than anyone else I had talked to and they all offered the same windows. Don was always available for questions or concerns and didn't need a down payment from me. Don is absolutely the reason I went with Prestige Products. James did the installation and did a great job. They came in quickly, put down plastic and cardboard to protect my floors and furniture and did a very thorough job cleaning up afterwards. We have a non-standard kitchen window which presented an issue with newer windows. James did a great job making it work and made it look even better than before. Phenomenal service from soho to nuts! Don, one of the owners, gave a transparent estimate and was knowledgeable, professional and fair with the price. He went on to answer questions as I weighed and prepared for the important investment in my home. Mark has been friendly, professional and meticulous in his attention to detail as he prepared the home for siding and is now installing the siding. The site has been kept clean and the work has been explained along the way. The removal of siding uncovered some water damage from a leaking roof and Mark has been very accommodating as it took time to schedule a roofer for that repair. We used them to replace all the windows and a sliding door in our house. Their price was reasonable compared to other quotes we received. The installation went very well. We had one minor issue where some caulk got on a privacy window pane at the factory (which was not Prestige's fault) and they came out to replace the window pane with no questions asked. The estimate he gave was competitive with the other companies I was researching and he did not require any down payment to start the job. This is an important point because there are some "shady" companies out there that go around getting down payments from customers, skip town, and never complete any of the work. Don has been in the business for 20+ years and knows his stuff! The installer, Mark, was awesome as well! I work from home, so we spent a good deal of time together and he walked me through each step of the process. He always wanted to make sure that I was happy with the work he was doing. We had Prestige install 5 windows for us in the fall of 2017. Almost two years in and we couldn't be happier with our new windows. The price was reasonable and the installer did a fantastic job. I got estimates from two other companies. The owner Don came out to give us our estimate. Prestige was not the cheapest but I went with them because of the time Don took to explain our options and the available products. He made sure all of our questions were answered. This was a nightmare contract. Feel free to send me a note if you want to hear my experience at lisafliam@comcast.net. After over 30 years of fixing this house and working with contractors, this is truly the worst. Dustin was a bully throughout the entire cycle. He did his best to try and take advantage of old people and has no respect for women. I did not speak to him in person after the project started and would only communicate through phone and email. Any questions at all and he would throw a fit and walk off the job. Although they advertise no payment until the work is complete he continued to harass for payment. He did the minimum on the job, at least the inspectors made him complete to code. He did not do a full frame replacement as validated by the GV inspectors, he intentionally lied about the size of the doors (substantially smaller from a 30 inch opening to an 18) and the glass on the replacement picture windows. The order in the contract for the window sizes did not match what was received on the packing list. He walked off the job when I questioned the outside replacement. I am sure it was money related. See below excerpt. There was no full frame replacement. They demanded unfettered access with no regards to my pets or sick husband who came down with cancer during this whole 8 month process and they would not give us a schedule. Lisa - THank you for leaving the downstairs sunroom area open for Michael Vick to visit today. He will inspect ALL aspects of the 2 windows that have been installed, interior and exterior. He will then confirm by formal letter on Sunrise letterhead that the method he taught me many years ago, that we have used exclusively on this type of Full-Frame Replacement install and that we are still using to this day, including on your home, is exactly what is being performed. I do not know how to add my phone to access for your wifi garage door opener... its there something I have to do go accept/allow or gain that access? Just let me know what my part is to gain access to the garage door and that would be great. It seems like the easiest thing to do wold be to allow me to have the 4-digit code to the remote keypad... much easier than having to download and set up an app? Do you still request the 2nd and separate letter about the 4 picture windows and how they had to be made as picture windows (instead of Welded Dead Lite frames or IGU-only installs) in order to have the benefits of the exterior brickmould and the interior Madera trim? Or are you saying that just the 1 letter about the install process is now enough to get us back to work? Please clarify so I can proceed according to your expectations and not have another miscommunication. Then he continued to threaten me not to ever sue him and harass me for payment. Lisa - You made it very clear from the beginning of trying to negotiate scheduling of work that we were to not work on any Saturdays or Sundays. Therefore James and I have scheduled him for other projects on Saturdays to try to keep working as much as possible. Are you now saying that allowing James (and Mark) to work on Saturdays is fine with you? That would be great, as we are so very far behind. I am very glad to hear we are now allowed back on the job as of Monday. We will need upstairs access to start the main living area portion of the job as early as Tuesday and for sure by Wednesday. My contract specifically states that any changes to any part of the project, including payment, can be made by mutually agreeing emails. Our business model is to not change contracts, but to amend them in writing via email. This language is in the "Purchaser Acknowledgements" Section that starts on p.11, in the subsection 6) Entire Agreement: on p.12 of my contract. If the below email from me about being an expert witness is unclear, then you did not read it very well. It is highly insulting to me that you would skew and malign the fact that I was hired as an expert witness in the field of replacement windows product and installation on some other company's lawsuit that was brought by some homeowner I had never met or worked with, into an accusation that my company has had "previous lawsuits". The sole purpose was to try and prove to you that I know what I am doing despite your continual questioning of that. As I have emphatically stated in multiple past emails, Prestige Products Windows & Siding (or my father personally, or myself), has NEVER been sued by anyone for any reason, and we have never sued anyone, ever. This is a simple matter of public record. Please refrain from ever insinuating that my company has ever been involved in a lawsuit, ever again. REGARDING A HIGH LEVEL SCHEDULE OF COMPLETIONS/TIMELINE... There seems to be a severe misunderstanding about what a "high level timeline" is. Where do I start? If I could give more stars, I would. From start to finish, a great experience. Dustin, James, Bobby, and the rest of the crew provided stellar service and a great product. I purchased a townhouse with 4 large windows and one superbig (12 feet!) patio door. I got two other estimates, and Prestige's price was competitive. Service was great - they placed coverings over the floors to minimize the mess; they completed the job in the time promised. I'm very impressed with the quality (and guarantees) that come with the product. I had no idea I'd have a patio door with 3 (yes 3, not 1) locks plus an additional foot lock - all while looking fantastic. Couldn't be happier... Dustin provides exceptional customer service (both during and even now years after our siding job was completed) and the installer, Mark, has such a perfectionist attention to detail that I appreciated as a homeowner. We did new vinyl siding and gutters on our entire little old house (built in 1910). There was an addition on the back with different siding and older shingle type siding with window trim on the front of the house. They worked with us to make the two match and the house to look like one structure, even adding window trim on the addition windows to match the older look of the trim on the original part of the house. Quite possibly the best home renovation company I've ever encountered. From the clear, precise and transparent estimate, to working within my time schedule, to offering a quality product at a quality price...I don't think I've ever been so excited to write a review. I contacted Dustin in December to get a rough idea what siding and gutters for my older home would cost, we talked for a bit about the rough and then he offered to swing by and get me a true estimate. Several days later I signed the contract. The feeling I got from Dustin, it being a family owned company, and the treatment I received, there was no hesitation nor 2nd or 3rd bid necessary. Even through time delays, product delays (let's be honest, this Pandemic has not been kind to anyone) he stayed in constant contact keeping me informed every step of the way. I am not normally very impressed with salesmen. Or installers, for that matter. This company changed my mind about that. Not only was Dustin honest with us, he took the time to thoroughly explain the benefits (and possible drawbacks-very few, actually) of the double-paned Vanguard windows we eventually bought. The price was right, and we could have them installed in more than one session -- so we could save up for the next batch, instead of having to borrow money. Mark and Bobby did a careful, professional job and were thoughtful about cleanup and not tracking in stuff. There were a few small adjustments needed, and each time we not only got prompt service, but there was no charge. It's now been at least three years. These wonderful windows have cut highway traffic noise to a bare minimum, and our heating bills are minimal, compared to our neighbors. He answered all my questions in detail and when it became clear due to the nature of the job that Prestige's services were not a match, Dustin took the time to suggest how I might find the appropriate person to do the job, saving me a lot of time calling around needlessly.
