He requested a surprise birthday candle in the cake and they also put it on a plate that says happy birthday. Really nice presentation! He unfortunately didn't love their version of fra diavolo because it has a ton of peppers. Otherwise it was tasty, he just picked out most of the peppers. The seafood in it was cooked well and he said the shrimp was his favorite part. We also added extra tapas - -brussels sprouts (VERY good) -baked clams (these have stuffing with shrimp and a slice of bacon on top. We actually didn't like these, would prefer clams without a pile of stuffing).

The staff here is very friendly and patient as we spent a good time catching up with our friends and took our time looking through the menus. The decor was very home like. The red sangria was delicious, but the food was very very good! Almost all of us finished our food! What a meal! At the end, a staff member sang to us and he was divine!! He was truly amazing!! That was the icing of our evening! Thanks Sangria 71!!

My husband got the paella. Portion was huge, he loved every different piece of meat in it and said the seafood was excellent! The restaurant was busy, and they offered valet parking, which made arrival easy. When we arrived, our table wasn't ready yet, but the staff kindly asked if we wanted high-top tables by the bar, which we declined. The bar area is quite expansive and has a cozy feel, so I'm not sure why I didn't recognize the restaurant from my previous visit. Once seated, we were promptly approached by our server, who took our drink orders with promptness and friendliness. One thing that hasn't changed is the restaurant's lively atmosphere. Its noisy and can be difficult to hear each other, especially if you're sitting near a crowded table enjoying sangria. The lively ambiance is part of the experience, but it does make conversation a bit challenging. For our meal, I ordered the Lobster Meat & Shrimp in garlic sauce, which I found to be very flavorful. My partner ordered the Chicken Lemoine, and she enjoyed it very much. Overall, our dining experience was pleasant, and the service was excellent throughout the evening. Sangria 71, I will most definitely return for Happy Hour.

This restaurant is known for authentic Spanish small plates, generous paellas, imported Spanish ingredients, decadent desserts, and wonderful warm bread to start your culinary meal with. Abdul and Roberto make a perfect drink, whether it's a simple Espresso Martini or their house-made sangrias. . All this in a warm and friendly setting. The seafood paellas are portion perfect ie; large, the tapas favorites include garlic shrimp, octopus, croquetas, Iberico ham, lamb chops, and seasonal specials. Because the dining room is relatively small, expect a noisy environment. Weekend waits can be long because of this restaurant's popularity, but it is so worth the wait. If one arrives early, there will be no problem with sitting at the bar or nabbing a table. The staff is friendly, the clientele is neighborly, and you're guaranteed to enjoy your restaurant experience here. For Piermont, it's one of the strongest dining experiences available, particularly if one enjoys sharing plates. If you're going for the first time, I'd order the garlic shrimp, a few tapas to share, and one of the paellas for the table. Thank you Benny for bringing Piermont to our neighborhood. *For those across the river in Westchester, enjoy Basque in Tarrytown.

Nestled just a stone's throw from the Tappan Zee Bridge, the intimate Spanish restaurant offers an experience that is both approachable and memorable. Where some menus can overwhelm diners with endless selections and unfamiliar terminology, Basque takes a more refined approach. The menu is modest yet thoughtfully curated -- ideal for those exploring Spanish cuisine for the first time. Begin with a selection of tapas before choosing from one of their signature paellas, including seafood, meat, vegetarian, or surf-and-turf options. Pair the meal with a pitcher of sangria and settle in while the kitchen prepares a dinner worth savoring alongside good conversation. Beyond the meal itself, the village of Piermont provides the perfect setting for an evening stroll along the river. It is a charming way to end the night before heading back across the Hudson and down into New Jersey.

Update. We have been back numerous times, this time with cousins and their wives or a "plus one,"…read moreeight of us at a tight, rectangular table in the back. There are several hanging paintings on the walls, not worth a look, so you don't feel like you might be in Spain or Italy. Otherwise, it's a friendly, busy restaurant on weekend evenings, so reservations are recommended. Entrées, their starter salad ginger dressing and service are always good-very good. It's always either Spanish or Italian, so for example, you can order chicken parmigiana or variations of paella. This time I ordered Chicken Villaroy, which "is a classic French-origin dish featuring cooked chicken breasts (or croquettes) coated in a thick, cheese-infused béchamel sauce (Sauce Villeroy)." However, this one was served looking like two squared, lumpy, sautéed potato knishes, but tasted better than it looked. The inside was a very thick, well cooked chicken breast covered by a thin, light béchamel sauce and what seemed like plain, sautéed flour covering. The sauce made it slightly juicy, but not nearly juicy enough, and there was no thick, cheese infusion. My suggestion (for what it's worth ... and no offense intended to the Villaroys), is much more wet, cheesy infusion, along with perhaps a thick, panko crust covering thinner slices of chicken breast. They offered Sangria and Pinot Noir (tonight's table favorites), but not Chianti (my first choice) and you can skip most of their desserts. I was only able to finish one of the Chicken Villaroy croquettes and took the other one home for another day. The entrées came with rice or a wide variety of cooked vegetable sides, so mine was (excellent) spinach with oil and garlic, which I shared with my wife.

It's a very casual, cafeteria-style spot with a semi-open kitchen, but don't let the simplicity fool you -- the food is incredible and the staff here is friendly and patient. The highlight of the experience is the small buffet that features a variety of freshly-made Latin cuisine -- including pulled pork, chicken and beef stews, and other traditional Latin entrees and sides. You can build your own plate by selecting one or more entrees and sides - which are priced accordingly. As a 'gringo' who wasn't entirely sure what everything was, I really appreciated them taking the extra time to explain all the different options and give me their honest recommendations. The counterstaff is bilingual and were pretty patient with my elementary school level Spanish vocabulary and grammar. I ended up going with the pulled pork platter with two sides ($7) and it was terrific -- the perfectly seasoned and tender pork, black beans and rice, and macaroni salad were delicious and very filling. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the portions are very generous for the price. If you're looking for authentic, home-style Latino food in a laid-back setting, this is the spot! PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Sazon Latino is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Sazon Latino offers free off-street parking in a small lot behind the restaurant and there's plenty of free on-street parking on Main Street.
