One day after the gym, I just wanted a sandwich, so I walked into this place. Small little place , with just a few seats. It seems they do a lot of deliveries, bcs while I was there , there were so many Uber Eats, Grubhub, DoorDash , etc. drivers coming in to get food. I ordered a chicken cutlets sandwich with Ranch, Hot Sauce, pickled red onions, tomatoes and lettuce. The sandwich was delicious. The tomatoes and lettuce were really fresh. Overall a good sandwich. The only thing that may have made it better is if it was toasted and had some crispy bacon on it, but I did enjoy the sandwich anyway. I would definitely recommend this place. Highly recommend this place! If you like paninis and great sandwiches this place always bring the heat. This place is like a Panera bread, but way better in my opinion. I had been here at Roast in the past with just ok experiences. I happened to be in the shopping center to get Vitamins at the Natural Vitamin /Body shop -(see review) and stopped in for Brunch to go. Today however there seemed to be a change for the positive. Young management and adorable and friendly servers. I was accomodated for the order of the Cuban as now theirs is a Pork but the manager managed to have enough turkey to make a turkey cuban. The egg and ham was really good on what looked like toasted or french toast bread and was a good quality decent size sandwich. The special of French Onion soup was really tasty too and their sweet potato tots also good and not oily. Their door shows a sticker for something called Foodie Cart. They also have as most, a rewards program for every 1 dollar spent - get 5 dollars off for 50 points. REALLY BAD SERVICE! This is strictly for the Hicksville location as we have used other locations and never had this issue... We are a business that has several office meetings per year that we order lunch for around 12 to 18 ppl. I called the day before to place our order and told them I need the food here by 12:30pm. She read the order back to me and all was perfect. However the next day, we did not receive the food. At 12:36pm I called and asked where our food was as our presentation was to start at 1pm and wanted everyone to have their lunches. Was told "It's on the way." Roast Hicksville is 10 minutes from us. I waited 15 minutes and had to call again. The woman said she would check with the driver. I was left on hold for 7 minutes, hung up and called again only to be told the driver never picked up our order so the food was still there! So the first time I called they flat out lied to me. The food was 1 hour late and everything was cold and soggy!!! AND they forgot one of the sandwiches! When I called again to advise about the sandwich they vehemently told me it was in the bag but 3 of us checked and it was not. I asked for it to be made and delivered or 1 person would go w/o lunch. Guess what? THEY NEVER CAME WITH THE SANDWICH! So indeed one person went w/o lunch! Embarrassing for me as I am the one in charge of all this! And all I got was an "I'm sorry BUT... exclaiming it wasn't their fault... It was the kitchen, It was the driver and I forgot the 3rd excuse. NEVER offered a refund or a discount... never offered anything! Over $250.00 for cold soggy food and all we got was an "Im sorry BUT...!" NEVER again! read more

I was there today on the hottest day ever on long island. I have to say the 2 girls working there were so nice and helpful. I felt so bad for them cause it was so HOT in there. They were smiling and happy and it was so nice. I got soup yes im aware i was eating soup on the sun but i always liked the chicken tortellini soup. It honestly wasn't good. I have mixed feelings towards Roast Sandwich House.. the 2ND time I went and got a Buffalo Chicken sandwich that was TINY and expensive.. The 3RD time I went, I got a Tuna sandwich that was HUGE (happy/satisfied) and also a really awesome potato soup with bacon! The 4TH time I went, I got the grilled chicken sandwich which tasted amazing but was a bit on the smaller side along with Tortellini soup. This place is a hit or miss, if they can keep their sandwiches consistently the same size (large size)..It is definitely worth coming. The taste of the food is above average! I decided to treat myself for lunch! I went with the pick 2 option. Pick 2 is $9.99. I happened to chose a sandwich that wasn't part of the pick 2...but it was only a $1 up-charge. For my pick 2 I chose the angry turkey melt (minus the cheese...so no melt) and fries. Within the first bite I was in heaven. It was so delicious and flavorful, and honestly, unlike anything I've ever tasted before. The sandwich was fresh and delicious. That Cajun bacon though...mmmm! The fries...the fries were the best I've had in a long time. With the fries also comes their signature fry sauce. This sauce was amazing and yummy! The pick 2 for $9.99 is a great deal. Options are half a sandwich (even the half is huge...see my picture), cup of soup, 1/2 salad or 1/2 a side! So much to chose from! Soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis, wraps...even something for the kiddies! Service was great. Since I had never been, I needed time to look over the menu. The lady behind the counter was very patient and answered my questions. I also like the set up here. You order your food and they bring it out. There's no waiting for a buzzer to go off when your food is ready...or waiting to hear your number when your food is ready. The music playlist was great too. I like this place and come here occasionally - but it's really greasy/oily. With that in mind, I'll talk about everything I ordered: Roast Chicken Tortellini: really yummy, a great alternative for chicken noodle soup if it's cold or if you're sick Sweet chili Brussels: very flavorful, very sweet and contains nuts. This was very very oily and I was a bit turned off. By the way its a stinky vegetable in general, and these will smell really bad so if you're a paranoid office eater like me - you may want to rethink the sprouts. french fries: SO GOOD! These are very greasy too but they're fries so its expected - they're perfectly salted and come with a great dipping sauce and that sauce will taste good on anything there roasted beet salad: really yummy, walnuts + beets + goat cheese is a killer combo, and Roast's dressing really compliments it all honey bbq chicken wrap: a little on the basic/bland side for me, and if you pick it as part of the you pick two they can only offer half the sandwich on bread, which is a bit greasy again Angry turkey melt: by far one of my favorite things here. It's an upcharge on you pick two but its totally worth it. A bit greasy but it feels lighter, and the avocado absorbs a lot of the oil so its not in your face and heavily in your mouth service there is pretty good - it's mostly young girls who have good customer service skills read more

I went there for the first time today to get the Italian hero and the special crispy chicken hero .the restaurant was very clean.as soon as I walked in i was asked for my order.first of all,the bread on both hero's were very fresh. The Italian hero was excellent. When ordering the spicy chicken i asked for onions on it, i was informed that it came with sweet onions ( i was good with that) than i asked for the pickle sauce to be on the side, and also no tomato. Waited about 10 mins for the order which was fine.when i got home the chicken sandwich had sauce on the side as well as on the sandwich. The lettuce was soggy from the sauce being on it for about 1 hr ( long ride home) thats why i ask for it on the side. Also there were no sweet onions on it. Because of the Italian hero i will probably give it another shot, but going forward i will never order the spicy chicken hero again read more

My mom said she wanted a hot sandwich, so my hunt for "the best hot sandwiches" in or around the area began. Most of my discoveries led me to places that were too far away to even consider or some of the options just didn't seem good enough for my mom. I searched and searched until I landed on Roast. It was one of the options that I passed over initially, but seemed close enough distance wise. I looked over the menu and showed the Avocado Toast with Shrimp to my mom. She said it was a go. I looked for the directions and it said it should take me about 19 minutes to get there. Ehhh, ok, not bad, I decided it was worth the drive. I called and placed my order and began the journey. It must've been an oversight on my part, but once I passed Levittown, I didn't realize it was that far out. I kept saying to myself that this sandwich worth $16+ better be up to par. When I finally reached my destination, I saw that Roast was housed inside of a shopping outlet sort of area. They have designated parking for "Roast" customers, which was pretty nice. Upon entering the store, I was immediately hit with the bright white lights. The place doesn't feel warm, but I wasn't looking to stay and dine in. Not that I could even if I wanted to, because 1. I didn't feel like playing with Corona and 2. The chairs were put on top of the tables, so there would be nowhere for me to sit and take a load off. There were 2 other people ordering ahead of me, so I took my time to survey all that is Roast. The employees had on their masks, but no gloves. Ehh...no biggie for the gloves. The place was clean, but was void of any warm atmospheric touches. It lacks ambiance,but it had some pictures on the walls of Brussel sprouts and bread. It went with their sandwich theme. When it was my turn, I gave my name and received my order. It must've been the time of night...I guess, but the employee behind the cash register wasn't that welcoming. Maybe he was tired, I don't know, but a greeting would've been nice or something. He just seemed over it, maybe he had a long day, I. Don't. Know. But his customer service etiquette wasn't even sub par. Anyhow, I took my order, thanked him and made a beeline to the door. The customer service is not worth the drive. Once I was back inside of my vehicle, I handed the order over to my mom and the fun began. She opened up the plastic container that it came in and we were met by a lovely presentation. The avocado toast was garnished with, I wanna say sesame seeds and what appeared to be parsley...I could be wrong, but it had some seeds and some green leaves on it. It was also flanked with a slightyly runny boiled egg cut into quarters. Neither my mother or myself cared for the eggs, but everything looked delicious. The shrimps tasted good, but they seemed to be a little overcooked, because they were a bit on the chewy side. Roast has been around for a few years not but I just recently decided to give it a go. The inside is rather large but also very unwelcoming. Tall ceilings, bright fluorescent lights, tables and chairs, and a counter where you order. It's definitely more of a grab & go type of place rather than sit and try to enjoy a meal. I had the grilled chicken panini which was delicious. Their menu doesn't offer much but the paninis all sounded good and this one definitely delivered. Prices are okay for the area. If you're going to sit and eat here be advised there is a kickboxing facility next door and these walls must be paper thin because I heard EVERYTHING coming from that class. Loud thumping music, instructors yelling, bags being kicked. This isn't Roast's fault but it makes me not want to sit and eat here. Like I said - grab & go is the way to go. read more

I was in the area and saw that a new Sandwich shop opened were All American Hero used to be. I was starving and what the heck i said ill give it a try. I had a roast beef melt with mozzarella cheese and onions. At first I thought the price was a little high then once my order arrived I saw it came with a big order of fries. The sandwich was great and definitely worth the trip. The fries were just ok nothing special at all. The staff were fast and friendly and service was great. I was in and out in 10 minutes maybe less. So its my first time trying roast, so as I walk in I walk straight to the register and let the girl know its my first time visiting this place. I was hoping she was going to tell me what Roast was all about, didn't happen. So anyway the area behind the counter very sloppy and to be honest she didn't even seem like she wanted to be there.. So anyway I decided to go with the Turkey roast club, Turkey of course, bacon, avocado spread, aioli mayo I think.. Got it to go...So when I opened it looked pretty good but they made it on the wrong bread. Was it good? Yes. I guess maybe I was expecting to much or that wow factor. I really hope they do well, but they have to step up their game. There is too much competition out there in the sandwich world. They've now expanding a second location to Hicksville, lets see how things have progressed for the Roast Sandwich House chain. First off, Parking! There is a large lot and Roast Sandwich House also has designated customer parking spots. Yay! Walking inside, its a large, spacious dining area. I'm not sure about the area lunch crowd like Rt 110 but if its the same volume of folks, this dining area can seat everyone comfortably. They have a few great sandwiches but what I've been holding out for is the Braised Brisket Grilled Cheese Sammy. On this particular grilled cheese sandwich, they use *three* types of cheese: Cheddar, Swiss and Havarti. Mmmm mm good! Now add the Braised Brisket along with some toasted, thick country white bread? They'd make a hick out of anyone when you grab onto the country white bread and take a bite into this three cheesy blend Long Island sammy. Do you know what really impressed me today the most? Yes, the counter folks were really nice but I took a side peek in the kitchen? There was a guy with a beard and he smiled at me. Now that just goes a long way, it doesn't cost anything and its nice to see someone who's happy seeing curious customers. Not fancy or fast food...everything is made to order...go to the counter and check out the menu....order and grab a soda or ice tea and seat yourself at one of the tables. Bonnie G. ordered a fantastic Chicken sandwich with avacado et. al. and it was super good. I got a Brisket with 3 cheeses on what looked like Texas toast. A little oily and salty due to all the cheese but the brisket was incredible. I saw a salad pass by that was large and made you want to go up and order one...next time.
