Had the Long Island special for breakfast that would be a bacon egg and cheese. Also had a large iced coffee. It was made quick fast and accurately, but I was waiting there to get it to ensure it was correct I think the waitress asked me every five seconds will that be paying by cash or credit card? I said I'm still shopping in your store. The real reason she was asking is because they charged at 3 1/2% surcharge which I detest I just don't know why they just raised the price is $.25 cents to cover the credit card charge so for the bacon egg and cheese and a large iced coffee. It was over $10 and I paid cash can you only imagine if I paid by credit card it would've been another $.35 I guess management is that desperate for $.35 that they have to charge 3 1/2% more. But as I mentioned before the food was fine, tasty and deliciousjust expensive. Enjoy it. read more

I have never actually been to this deli, however, this is the third time my son has picked up sandwiches there and it does not disappoint. I have had the chicken cutlet sandwich. This time I decided to try something new so I got the steak panini. Oh my goodness was it delicious!!! Flank steak with aioli sauce, arugula and avocado with the perfect amount of spice. I have been coming here since they first opened up and anytime I go for a breakfast sandwich by myself or with any of my friends I always come here to Amia's. Their food has always given me a comfort that only some places give. I first ordered from Amia's Deli when I worked at RXR Plaza. Now I get my lunch from Amia's Cafe, located in my new office building at 100 Quentin Roosevelt Blvd. With my short lunch time, the Cafe is perfect! I call in my order with super-friendly Michelle, then pick it up and eat at my desk. I highly recommend The Cuban sandwich! Wow, it is delicious! I came here for breakfast on a Thursday morning around 9 AM. Ordered the Amia omelet platter, which is a turkey, Swiss cheese omelet with sliced avocados and a dollop of salsa and toast with home fries. Truthfully have no idea why they would call it home fries when they were pieces of fried to perfection little cubes of potato heaven. It was SOooo good. Crispy on the outside and creamy goodness in the middle. YUM ! Worth it just to come here for that! The beef empanada was pretty decent, very flavorful boarding on salty but perfect for my kids! Update: I dont visit much anymore but every now and again I will come in. Usually there isn't an issue but I had to update my review. I visited Amia's twice in one week and received two different prices each time. Also I wasnt greeted when stepping up to the register. I informed the person ringing me up but it still wasnt the same price as I previously paid. I eont be returning anytime soon. This place is a gem and I'm glad I found it! I originally ordered from grubhub and they deliver. I ordered a breakfast hero, ice coffee and brownie. The hero was huge and very reasonable priced. The brownie is to die for, it tastes homemade which i love. My order was correct, every time I ordered the delivery was fast. I like this deli. I had a chicken sandwich with arugula and goat cheese on gluten free bread. The bread was freshly baked in a bakery. The chicken was in small pieces so when you ate the sandwich they all fell off. I thought it was with plain pesto but it was balsamic pesto which I didn't care for much. The coffee was good. I ate there and bought pudding to take home. They were very nice and helpful and it was a friendly place to go. I saw people talking asking how they were doing etc. I like that in a small place. This is a real delicatessen by an New Yorker's standards. I love the Gates Ave hero that is piled high with chicken cutlets, lettuce, tomato, onions, avocado, drizzled with balsamic vinegar and mayo on a toasted garlic hero. It's smart to call your order in ahead of time because it's quite busy on the weekends. There are so many different heroes to choose from, but when you find one that is as good as Gates Ave., you stick to it! Came in for a bacon egg and cheese bright and early. They quite clearly had a few people order online and pick up (as well as some regulars), which I will take advantage of next time. My bagel BEC was cooked in the kitchen in the back and was ready to go within about 5 minutes. It was fresh, hot, with good bacon, and delicious. Ok here is the story. I do open houses and provide lunch for realtors about once or twice a week. I asked the owner if he was interested in doing the catering and deliver to the Massapequa area. i advised him this could be good business for him as i do this 1-2 times a week. I said i use a deli in Bellmore and they provide a platter of assorted sandwiches, cookies, soda and paper goods and utensils for $60. He said he could do it but it would be $70. I agreed as i wanted to give him a chance as i like to support local businesses. The first time the order was good and my realtor said the food was ok. Last week i placed 2 orders for 2 different open houses. Thursday the driver was 20 minutes late. The realtor called me and said that there were 11 pieces of sandwich on the plate. He sent me a picture- i could not believe my eyes. Boring roast beef on roll, turkey on a roll etc and only 11 pieces! I called the owner and he said " sorry that's $70 worth ." i asked him why last time it was much better- his response " it's really not worth it for me to deliver to Massapequa." Then why take the order? He really blew it as he just a lot of business. I was very upset as I was embarrassed by this with my realtors. He told me come in and get a refund. I went in the next day and asked to speak with him and he said "no, we have nothing to talk about and how dare i "disrespect" him." He gave me my money back as he said I need it more than he. I took it and offered to pay him for the entire order anyway but he walked away. Now all my neighbors and family and friends know this story. Come to Amias if you want to pay and arm and a leg for them to constantly mess up your orders and extremely over charge you while they're at it. 5 times out of 10, you'll have to call them to have them send the right order. Even when you text in the proper order, they still find a way to make a mistake. Don't get me wrong, the place has the look and feel of a nice deli and everything tastes great, If you're lucky to get what you ordered in a timely fashion. Really long for an amazing breakfast spot. Ordered the addys wrap and was disappointed for many reasons. The sandwich was mediocre and they forgot the condiments I requested. My coffee wasn't prepared as requested and had to wait for another. Not only was my order wrong but for my friend it was wrong. Each sandwich and coffee was prepped wrong. This place is truly hit or miss. 3 or 4 months ago I would have rated this 5 stars, but lately they've really been sub par. I got a Gates Ave and it was made on 2 different types of bread; one half had sesame seeds the other half was plain and over toasted. My boyfriend got the Peters Ave and about 1/3 of the roastbeef was so overcooked, it was inedible (he eats literally anything, except this). The other issue we have is that when we call for delivery the person taking the order must not speak English very well. Every time we get to the part of what is the address, they don't understand either my boyfriend or myself and we're spelling out the street name at least 4 times. Old leftovers from day before, pre-made soups put in microwave for 10 mins, prices always changed depending on who rings you up. I am writing this review purely in response to the review provided by "B D." earlier today. I was in the deli while he was there and his rendition of what occurred is far from accurate, as he painted himself in the best light while slandering this business. To start, when I walked in I walked right past him because he was standing nowhere near the counter (in the middle of the deli basically) and it appeared that he was already being helped or waiting for an order to be prepare. I walked right up to the counter, was immediately helped and got my food (chicken taco bowl, HIGHLY recommend). What our good friend "B D." left out was how rude he was on his way out, yelling at all of the employees who were working incredibly hard to get everyone's orders prepared. I'm sad to write this because they're all so nice in there but if I'm paying good money I don't want microwaved food. I saw them microwave my breaded eggplant for the p22 eggplant panini and then put it in the panini press for a minute or two. Why would anyone microwave anything that's breaded? It just turns into a soggy mess. I'm truly sad about this because it has good flavor and would be delicious if it wasn't so oily and soggy from the microwave. read more
