Lately though we have been increasingly disappointed. In an apparent search for effeciency, customer service is slipping. Case in point, their new automated service notification system that supposedly provides you information on when to expect a technician to arrive. We have a service contract and a tech was supposed to come out to inspect the system to make sure all was working well. First, sometime today is not helpful. We have busy lives and other companies at least give you a reasonable window. Second, when we were finally provided an arrival time (between 12:30 and 1:30) and confirmed it, we waited for over 2 hours after that and never got an update or saw a technician. Texts to the automated system generated a form response that the tech was delayed...obvious and not helpful...maybe provide a revised ETA? Third, we finally called the office and canceled the appointment (it was about 4) and said we'd call back to reschedule. No apologies for the inconvenience...nothing. I am hesitant to reschedule and risk a replay of a wasted day due to questionable customer service. Last winter we had techs come out under the service contract to do the annual check up of the heating system. When we asked the technicians to show us the proper way to drain the boiler, they didn't know. Go back to a people run and focused approach. That was why we stuck with Davis so long in the first place.

He also said one of the compressors sounded like it might be going. We decided I needed a new system. The quote he gave me for a 4 ton heat pump was over $21,000!!! I called a second company and told them of the issues. The second technician wanted to diagnose my current system before quoting a price on a new one. He got the system running with NO NEW PARTS. The cost of the visit was $109.00. I would never recommend Davis to anyone.

I was a customer of this company in Spring 2025, they hauled brush, seeded my lawn and did…read morelandscaping around my new home. I am fairly satisfied overall, but a few things stand out where I am not satisfied. With the seeding and landscaping, the workers did it as quick as possible and left. I had hoped to receive a little briefing on when to mow for the first time, but no such briefing occurred. This should happen for all new lawn seeding. A few days before landscaping work was done, I asked for some additional bushes to be planted. My request was accommodated, but there evidently was no additional landscape fabric brought for the additional space, no more than 200 sq ft in area. I didn't discover this fact until 2 months or so later, when all sorts of weeds and grass started growing. At first I thought the workers had tracked grass seed into the landscaping (lawn seeding done same day), which is possible, but upon closer scrutiny, I discovered there was no fabric laid on this section. It was the section completed, and it was a hot day--but there was no excuse for doing the job halfway like that. The workers just finished and said nothing. By the time I realized what had happened, the time of "guarantee" had already passed, so I did not complain. The reason I am leaving this review is because I am now doing the work Davidson Landscaping should have done. It is laborious for sure, I applaud anyone who does this kind of work, because it is hard on the body. If the employees had cared about a quality job, they would have secured some extra fabric, even if it took more time, and done it right.

We had high hopes for Davidson, but sadly the services and customer care we received were…read moreunacceptable. Think twice before signing a contract with this company if you can't see how they work first. They cut our grass way too short, nearly killed it! Then they did not edge, weed eat or blow off grass clippings. Lawn care services are not cheap. We ended being charged for a full month, which included 80% of charges that were never rendered. This is/should be illegal. Not to mention possible damages to our grass. I am all for paying for actual service provided--even if it's bad. But, I did call Davison before leaving a review to see if we could get a partial refund, but they refused. I strongly recommend customers find reputable service from businesses with good character. *** just to add, we did call Davidson first to try and resolve this issue. Actually, we called several times. It was unsuccessful. Also, we have had multiple lawn experts explain to us that we have zoysia grass in the front yard. Not fescue. It is a high-quality grass that although we didn't personally plant, we do intend to take good care of. Either Davidson has much lower standards than we thought, or they are just trying to save face and saying it was good. Either way, it was definitely cut too short, regardless of what management wants to claim. Although we were extremely disappointed with the service as we received, we fully understand paying for services that are rendered. After the failed service by Davidson, my husband went out to blow off our driveway and walks when Davison did not. Also, it would've been difficult to cancel our services any faster than we did. We canceled right after our first mow was completed. We paid for multiple fertilizing lawn treatment and other yard care in our full package. As well as three additional mow jobs. None of those were received because we canceled. Of course, why would we wait any longer when the service we had received at that point was substandard. Again, my advice would be to pick a different company, there are lots of them. We are now using J&S Landscaping. They gave us the ability to have a single mow and verify that their quality of service is better. I do understand contracts, but any company that is interested in providing good customer service would be willing to charge only for services rendered. Imagine paying for a surgery you didn't actually receive just because you signed the paperwork with the hospital, that's insane. The hospital could never get away with it.
