Complete Failure. Paid for experience, received inadequate labor. I hired All Service Movers expecting a professional crew capable of handling a move involving stairs. At $210 per hour for a three-person crew, they were the most expensive company I considered. I chose them mainly because I expected the quality to match the price. I got burned on this one. When scheduling the move, I explained it involved one flight of stairs at the pickup location and two flights of stairs at the destination. The heaviest items were standard household furniture including dressers, a sofa bed, tables, and similar items. There were no safes, pianos, appliances, or other unusually heavy items. When discussing how many movers would be needed, I was told two would probably be enough. I chose to pay for a three-person crew mainly because of the stairs, expecting they would handle it better. From the beginning, it was obvious the crew struggled navigating the stairs, repeatedly stopping to reposition furniture and moving at a pace that unnecessarily extended the job. I even found myself carrying heavy boxes over my shoulders up the stairs, and also taking items to the garage myself while paying for a three-person moving crew. I did this not only because I couldn't bear to watch the crew struggle, but also because the clock was ticking and every unnecessary delay was costing me more money. The move lasted 8 3/4 hours, went into overtime, and I was charged for the additional time. Even after that, the move was not completed. Furniture still needed to be placed and assembled. I chose to end the job once I witnessed the dolly scraping on my newly installed flooring. That's when I flipped. Told them it's time to go. It didn't dawn on me that they'd been using an unprotected dolly throughout the move. Once they left, I started unpacking and inspecting my stuff further. I discovered additional damage to my freshly painted walls, new and existing furniture, stair trim, and a scratch on my newly installed sliding door. To put this into perspective, Home Depot later delivered multiple large appliances up the exact same stairs using only two delivery personnel. They handled the stairs confidently without repeated stops or hesitation. I have also used another moving company in the past, and the difference in capability was obvious. The effort the movers put in is not in question. They worked hard. The issue was the lack of experience, strength, proper equipment, and overall capability needed to handle this type of move. In my opinion, All Service Movers failed to assign a crew capable of handling this type of stair move. Their lack of efficiency cost me additional overtime charges, resulted in unnecessary damage to my home and belongings, and left the move unfinished. To make matters worse, after documenting the damage with photographs and submitting a claim, the company offered only $100 toward an estimated $400 in damages. And the $400 estimate was generous. I cannot recommend All Service Movers based on my experience. A professional moving company should assign a crew capable of performing the job they were hired to do without causing unnecessary damage, unnecessary overtime charges, and an incomplete move. Shawn changed the plan and brought too few movers for a large job and then stated it wouldn't fit in the truck and that he lacked the proper equipment to pack and protect our furniture. They lock you in having you sign a contract which was based on their quote, then when the team arrives short handed saying they need another truck and more movers. Conveniently, no manager will answer the phone so you are on the hook and they have your stuff. Now you are held hostage and they won't deliver until you pay a higher amount even though they quoted you a service to move everything for a certain price by a certain time. Worst moving company ever and if I could give negative stars, I would. We scheduled a move from our 1st home to our new home. We were quoted 4 hours for 2 movers to complete the job based our 1st Home being a 3 Bed, 2 Bath and 1200 square feet. This was the only metric they used to determine how many movers they needed. I specifically question if 2 movers were sufficient for our move as we had 3 movers when we moved from our previous apartment into our 1st home . I was assured it was fine, and they would be able to complete the move in 4 hours. On the day of the move, the 2 movers were a lady and a guy who is almost 60. After three hours of working on the move, they called their supervisor because they believed the job was understaffed and they needed at least one more mover. The supervisor never returned their calls. Sometime thereafter I ask if we needed more movers, and the lady indicated she had already called, and the supervisor never returned her call because it was a Saturday. I hoped on the phone to call the supervisor and left a message complaining with the above. The Supervisor called me back and indicated she would see what she could do and get back to me. With that said, she indicated that we would probably have to schedule another move. I informed her that under no circumstances would I be paying for another move because they understaffed the job. Particularly when I questioned whether two movers would be sufficient. The supervisor indicated that she would listen to the recording of the call and get back to me. After several hours and receiving no response from the supervisor, I called back and left a message again. The supervisor indicated that she was trying to get a hold of the owner because he was the only one who could approve a credit and could not get a hold of him because it was Saturday. I was confused because they were working on a Saturday, but no one could approve my request. The supervisor then indicated that she reviewed the call recording, and I never questioned if two movers were sufficient. This was a lie, and I knew it was a lie when she said it. I am a litigation attorney; I listen to people for a living, and I make a pretty good living. In any event, I was not pleased that she was lying, and she would not send me a copy of the recording. We finished the move and 11:30 P.M. without the movers being able to get our couches or refrigerator in the house. As this was a Saturday, and they do not work on Sunday, the second day of the move was scheduled for Monday. During the move, I spoke to the movers who indicated this type of situation is common. What I mean by that is I was informed they are regularly understaffed and go over the four hours estimate into what is called overtime billing, which is billed at time and half. I believe this is a scam so they can make more money. They tell you it will take two (2) moves and four hours. However, if it goes over, and it usually does, they are charged overtime and make more money. The second move was much smoother. This time we had two younger guys for the move who were able to get the couches and refrigerator in the house within thirty (30) minutes when the previous movers could not do it in hours. However, they made mistake and forgot items at our old house and lost items like the power cord for my arcade game machines. In total, All Service Moving charged me nearly $5,000 for this headache of a move and did not even offer a discount for the convenience or talk to me before charging my credit card. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT COMPANY BECAUSE THIS ONE IS A SCAM. read more
