They were also able to disassemble my wood bedframe and put it back together for me in my new place and also lifted my heavy dresser up the stairs. Did not show up the morning of the move after everything was confirmed and communications leading up to it. It's wild. No calls the morning of and when we called they said the truck had a radiator leak and would be about 2-3 hours late in arriving. The condo we're moving to has a strict 4:30 cut off time. Horrible moving service! Several of my items were damaged, they took apart my desk and lost the screws and grabbed random ones and half put it together. I found my screws in my planters and had to put it back together the right way. They left a dolly of out of my tv stand and it's falling apart. They showed up two hours into the window they gave me and took from 4pm till 11pm to get the job completed - 2 bedroom condo. (Noise ordinance is 10pm) I talked to the GM and he said he'd send someone out to fix the items not put together right but when they are out that way. 4 weeks later and still haven't heard from them to come out it together the right way...In the past I've got a U haul and movers through UHaul website that were way cheaper, more careful with my belongings and were much faster. I am leaving this review to formally document an extremely unprofessional and unacceptable experience with this company. Prior to the move, I discussed pricing and payment terms directly with the owner/manager and confirmed the agreed-upon amount. However, when the movers arrived, they immediately demanded cash up front and refused to provide any services unless payment was made on the spot. This directly contradicted the prior agreement. After loading the couches, they demanded an additional $100 that had never been disclosed or authorized. The situation felt coercive and inappropriate. In addition to the payment dispute, the movers caused multiple damages: * One of the couches was damaged. * The garage door was damaged. * A component of the security system on the back door was broken. Furthermore, one of the workers raised his voice and yelled at my wife and daughter. This behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. When I contacted the company to request information regarding their insurance coverage for the damages, they refused to provide any details. This company demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect. I strongly advise others to proceed with caution. read more

I had to move a storage unit from Echo Park to Palmdale. Abu and Gala showed up early and ready to work. They handled my items with care and professionally wrapped them so nothing got damaged. I used Affordable Moving in mid 2022 for a move ~45 minutes away (in Los Angeles). I read a lot of the reviews and they were very positive, so I'm surprised my experience was so negative. The 2 gentleman they sent were nice, but I think 1 was brand new and in training. My friends came to help me move, and to be honest I think the 4 of us total would have been 90% as fast if we didn't have the additional 2 movers. The team that was sent over was very slow - we had moved multiple rounds of boxes & furniture while the trainee was still wrapping the washing machine. My friend got so fed up that he took the roll of saran wrap, and wrapped the dryer in 1/10th of the time himself, only to have the trainee move it outside, un-wrap it, and then re-wrap it (which took ~40 minutes). I'm not sure if this was purposeful, but it's suspicious that they charge per hour. When the truck was finally ready to be moved out, the movers left all of their garbage on the apartment walkways and on the street (tape, used wrap, etc) which I had to clean up. On the unloading side, they did not put down any moving protection and ended up scratching a lot of the floor and walls. I can confirm the scratches are new since we had just deep cleaned the place the day prior (see images). While the two movers were nice, the whole experience felt very amateur and unprofessional - I would say that my inexperienced friends would be faster and more effective if I had just rented a UHaul truck. Overall, very negative experience for me, which seems very different from the other reviews. I would not recommend them, and in the future I would not hire a moving company per-hour. read more

I used affmov for my interstate move from California to Texas. I was fooled by the amount of positive reviews on here/yelp and pricing. These guys are not registered with the BBB (they have a D- rating), and they broke a majority of my stuff during my interstate move. Took me a while to actually get around to writing the review, I had so much stuff to fix. My PC is damaged and not turning on properly, the desk is damaged, coffee table and furniture banged up (I had to pay for junkers), and they lost my tv legs when they packed things up. All my reusable banker boxes were demolished, luckily I packed things myself so some of the stuff inside was fine. The communication lady blocked my number at some point after telling me she was available 24/7. No seriously, texts couldn't go through and calls were instantly declined for two days after. So I had to communicate directly with the owner. Owner was very responsive to my messages, until after I paid and asked about damaged items. They ask for payment up front after you see everything damaged. After the payment they're telling me to my face nothing is broken, despite having photo and video evidence. Then instead of accepting my photos they told me the movers had to take photos themselves, to which they didn't and quickly excused themselves after without even asking for a tip. I learnt an expensive lesson here, but this was my first interstate move and I didn't know to check the BBB. Always check the BBB, as yelp and google for moving companies aren't always reliable. read more

Literally the worst company ever they damaged my floors in my brand new apartment the same day I got the keys with them from the leasing office and they tried to act like I did it, and then I took the owner 2 Small Claims Court where I won the case and I still have not received what's owed to me for the damages that they caused. I would definitely recommend using affordable moving. They are quick to respond, have a straight forward quote system, and don't nickel and dime you on moving day. The movers don't all speak English, but don't hold that against them. Someone on the crew will. They were efficient and did a great job. I felt the value was great as they brought tape and supplies like blankets that were included in the price! I had a contact person and he was not high pressure sales which is a pet peace for me. We moved from Laguna Niguel to Phoenix, a week ago, and only one or two small items broken that had to do with our packing, not their moving. I would def work with them again! read more

I've used this company 3 times and 2 out of 3 times they damaged something. This last time they damaged my couch shown in the pictures. Note that this couch was wrapped in thick plastic film done by myself. To be able to cut through the plastic film and rip the fabric like that, I can imagine how hard it must have scrapped something during the move. I can imagine it being dragged on the ground through a long distance in order to create this damage. It is a heavy couch (sofa bed). I didn't know about this damage until after the move. The movers didn't inform me. This company has it's procedure to protect clients' furniture but in my opinion it simply isn't enough. In order to make sure your furniture is moved without any damage you really need to take control and watch these guys. You can tell them how you want things to be wrapped but they might not do it. You would have to tell them repeatedly. You can choose to save some money by working with this company but my advise is to really watch them and don't let things slide. read more
