I would give this no stars. The owner is full of it. I am so upset as I looked through my jewelry and 5 Movado watches were missing as well as a Cartier ring. The movers literally took off with my jewelry. The owner's rebuttal is so incorrect. I paid for full service packing and everything which was included. Ridiculous rather than apologizing, blames it on the customer. I even tipped them not knowing that my things were stolen as I didn't have enough time to go back to the house and met them at storage. My fault for not checking my jewelry that I packed. Very disappointing and probably could press charges. I didn't discover my items were missing until I recently checked storage. As we stored our items in their facility they stacked our dining room table and broke a large piece off. When we moved into our new home best moving admitted fault, yet only covered $120 to replace. They explained I can go through my own insurance for the difference. Be careful what you sign. The moving crew tried to make me sign a waiver of our electronics being damaged before verifying they were in working condition. This is the 2nd time we've used this company. The first move was from a condo to a storage unit. This move was storage in Irvine to a home in Carlsbad. Both experiences were great. Doug (main contact person) was friendly, informative and efficient. The movers (Gavin, Ferman, and Max) never stopped moving. They negotiated the elevator in the storage facility efficiently (saving us money). They were friendly and helpful and had good ideas on the best way to move our belongings (many of which were heavy and bulky) to the 2nd floor of our new home. So I finally was able to use Best Moving for my "non-standard" move. Doug was awesome with scheduling, and the team arrived promptly and ahead of time. They called in advance to let me know they were nearby, which I appreciated a lot. This way, I could be prepared! Joe (Driver/Team Lead), Matt, and Max came and surveyed the job within minutes. They were super-friendly and we immediately felt at ease, because they obviously had a handle on things and knew what they were doing. I cannot believe how fast and efficiently they worked. I was there in the beginning, explaining things, and within minutes they figured out the plan to move our old Viking refrigerator outside and bring the new one in. They made sure the floor was protected, since they had to go up a couple stairs to get the refrigerator out the front door. Once they were on their way with the job, I went upstairs to go back to my desk to answer a few work emails. About 5-10 mins later, I heard them taking the protective tape off the stairs, and ran out of my office saying "no don't remove the tape yet, you still have to use it to bring the new fridge in, right?"......but they HAD already brought the new fridge in (and moved the old one out)! SO FAST!! I was astonished...Job almost complete! In the time it took for me to read and respond to two emails - it was done! Then the team helped me lift this super-heavy 1000+ Lb Dining room 120 inch long wood restoration hardware table so I could put a new rug underneath. I could not believe they were so strong we did not have to take it apart to lift it. I'm not kidding, it was seriously crazy how much these guys can lift. Even when I had the table delivered by RH, their delivery team had to take it apart to help me move it. Again, my head spun with how fast they did this job. It was less than 10 mins. Table moved, new rug pad, and rug put out, and table put back!! The entire job was faster than I even expected it would be, and it was done to PERFECTION....and I am a HUGE perfectionist and very picky!!! We were more than happy to give a BIG TIP for their amazing work and strength to do this job. They were awesome. Joe's leadership was amazing. I have used their services for two long-distance moves, one local move and long-term storage over the past two years. I was referred to Best Moving Service by a close friend who knew I would be relocating from Northern to Southern California. I needed a team of trustworthy professionals to move my family to our new home and I grew tired of looking at companies from afar. I connected with Doug of Best Moving Service to conduct a virtual assessment of my move and was immediately impressed with his expertise and professionalism. It cannot be easy to set up and stage a move of one's home by phone and he nailed it. Doug met with me on multiple occasions by phone to ensure that we had accounted for the appropriate square footage of my home and to assess the number of staff we'd need to make the move happen. I appreciated how thorough Doug was and the time he took to walk me through every step of the moving process. On moving day, the team arrived on time and immediately got to work. The team took special care to wrap all my furniture with moving blankets and protected all of the larger items giving me confidence that they'd arrive safely at their destination. After arriving in Long Beach, the team quickly got to work, staging boxes and furniture where I needed everything placed making move-in a breeze. This was tremendously helpful because I was moving into my place without help from friends or family and it made the whole process extremely easy, and the team was very efficient. Two years later, I decided to pack my entire home and store everything with Best Moving Service as I learned that they also provided long-term storage. As I was I was about to embark on a 12-month around-the-country trip, I needed a place to store my belongings and the team came through for me again. I worked with Doug to arrange a moving date and an estimate of the number of storage vaults I'd need to pack my house away for a year. Once again, Doug was an expert in estimating how much labor I'd need for the move and was spot on with estimating how much storage space was needed. He's truly great at what he does. The moving team arrived again and got to work and was extra conscientious about wrapping all of my furniture, TVs and lighting very well to ensure long-term storage wouldn't be a problem for my belongings because I really didn't know how long I'd be on the road. This is highly important when I cover the last part of my review. The storage process was seamless. Doug helped me set up recurring billing to my credit card (thank you for that because I was able to get airline miles for my storage bills) and when it came time to make arrangements to pull my belongings out of storage, I contacted Jimmy, the business owner for advice. I recently bought a house in Michigan and I was going to need a long-haul move coordinated. I took a look at several different companies and found myself questioning how to get my entire house moved from California to Michigan at a reasonable cost. That's where Jimmy came into the picture and really made a huge difference for me. I met with Jimmy and he consulted me on a variety of options for the move. We looked at moving pods and LTL container services and he was able to make all the calls to find me the best quote for what I needed. Jimmy then coordinated the onsite delivery of my shipping trailer, the labor to pack the container taking all of my belongings out of storage and packed the trailer in a way that he and his team saved me $1,300 on my moving expenses because they were so precise with their packing in the trailer. Jimmy also made sure that my items were secured and had his staff mail me a key to my lock (which I didn't even think about) and it arrived at my new home well before the trailer arrived. Now, here's the real kicker. My entire three-bedroom apartment in California was packed in such a way that nothing was damaged. Nothing at all. I unpacked boxes with fine china, and glassware and unwrapped all of my furniture and everything was in perfect shape after long-term storage and a long-haul move. If that isn't a testament to the care that Best Moving provides then I don't know what is. Jimmy, Doug and the entire team who have helped me move in California, into storage and across the country are literally, the "Best" moving service I could have asked for. I have moved a lot over the past 10 years, and I've never been more impressed with the care, professionalism, and expertise provided by Best Moving Service. We used several moving companies in the past 5 years, for us and for our relatives. We found that Best moving company was the most efficient and somewhat cost effective moving company that we have experienced. They will perform their task as you direct them to. My problem was that they packed too many frivolous items, when I should have gotten rid of them. This caused added time and packing supplies. As stated they will perform exactly as you tell them, which is good. They had great attitudes and warm accommodations to their customer. They moved everything carefully, without breaking anything. Just carefully plan out the items to move and not to waste time with innocuous items. We will use Best again in a few weeks for my sister in law. I do highly recommend them as you can see. Horrible company. Horrible company. The lack of respect for ones property blows my mind. They were made aware ahead time and the day of that we had antiques, fragile items, etc, etc. See photos below. One shows that these incompetent neanderthals put a heavy portable AC unit on top of a fragile blue Rubbermaid storage bin. The AC unit, roughly 80lbs, crushed the blue storage bin. Everything inside broken. Ruined beyond repair. In another photo. If you look close enough. In the middle there is another box were "fragile" is clearly written on said box. It's crushed between furniture and other boxes. Nothing secured. Our furniture just thrown in there. The box with fragile written on it, smashed. Contents ruined. The other photo shows how they just threw furniture on top of furniture. Not securing it. Not wrapping all of it. Not respecting any of the items we owned. They treated our personal belongings like garbage. I hope this company goes out of business. I hate saying that cause I'm not a spiteful person...but we lost thousands of dollars. A majority of the items broken are one of a kind collectables. Original pieces. There is no replacing them. This company deserves a good dose of karma and I hope they get it sooner rather than later. Cause hard working folks don't deserve to have their belongings destroyed. Also, if you don't pay attention to the bottom line they will try some sketchy accounting techniques to rip you off. THEY QUIT BEFORE FINISHING THE JOB! From our experience, Best Moving Service of Anaheim doesn't deserve the name. For starters Doug, their "Move Coordinator", underestimated the scope of our Full Service move by scheduling only three men (one who was clearly NOT a PROFESSIONAL). The driver, with 29 years of moving experience, told me emphatically "This is a 4-man iob!" As a result of their being poorly informed by Sales and Dispatch, plus not being supplied with necessary boxes, this unhappy and inefficient crew cost us 1.75 labor hours above the estimate. That's not the end of it. All of their mistakes and bad attitudes would have been excused IF only Best Moving Service had apologized and then sent a 2-man crew to complete the move the following day. Instead, four days later these items are still inside our former residence: 7 sealed boxes, 2 large mirrors, framed art, a lamp, a plant stand, a swivel computer chair, a small dining chair, miscellaneous items on the kitchen counters, and a pile of bedding and pillows left on the bedroom floor. Company is a scam! I hired 3 movers they have a 3 hr min. Agreed to the fee. I requested specific items be handled with care as things are being moved to a storage. Mattress in bags Couches wrapped Beds moved Basketball court moved Gavin the driver says this is a 8hr job but I can do it in 5. swindle tacti to calculate how much money you have to make his tips hig. when I said I can't pay for 8 hrs. mind you I am a young woman alone with my kids. He got angry started cursing and said fu*k this job. I never said I wouldn't tip he assumed and I recognized the scam. He was so aggressive I called the owner and he heard it. He tells me he will write him up. Well my couches didn't get wrapped until I asked 3 times before going into the storage. My queen mattress was dragged down 3 flights of stairs without being put in a bag. He then dragged in in the dusty storage floor before putting it in a bag. He broke my glass table stacked my items in storage low and out so I don't have much space. I called to file a claim owner has yet to call me or handle my claim. This place is trash. Do Not use them or avoid Gavin! The other guys were fine. Owner isn't taking any ownership that I paid for 4 hours of service. I hired Best. They should consider changing the name. Things started fine. I made my reservation, they showed a few minutes late, began without going over the contract, 20 minutes in the lead man went over the contract, told me everything was standard and to sign and initial. Packing up was fine, other than what they didn't want to do-which was mainly in the garage. The lead found our tootsie rolls and helped himself and then asked if he could have some after the fact and threw his trash on the counter. They suggested I purchase a mattress bag, I did yet they never used it and left it. I commented in the garage when I found my son's unused detail kit for his car and they asked if they could have it. I gave it to them as I felt rather uncomfortable being asked. I bought them, pizza and drinks and they left napkins, water bottles and Gatorade containers in the bushes and garage. After eating they slowed down considerably and began bringing boxes that were for the garage into the house even though they were clearly for the garage. Somehow part my Christmas tree came out of the rubber made and one of the movers had it. I asked him to put it back in the container he brought it upstairs not once but twice. Then instead of putting it back in the container it was put in the garage and items stacked on it. My Pier 1 ottoman was placed at the bottom of about 8 rubber mades. Boxes were marked and the kitchen boxes were put upstairs and the bedroom boxes downstairs. many items I asked them to bring upstairs were put in the garage. The older man gave his unsolicited advice on where he thought I should put my bed. I had many marks and gouges on the walls and was told I would be busy fixing what they did. One of the movers (tootsie roll guy) kept bringing the same wardrobe box back and forth from my daughter's room to mine. Christmas tree guy kept helping me put it back and tootsie roll kept switching it which was just a waste of two guys time. When they put my daughters bed back together they left off half the hardware and it collapsed when she was sleeping. I spoke to Doug about the issues and he was patient and walked me through the form. At no time was I asked to take or send pictures. I called to get a copy of the claim and spoke to James, at this time he did not ask for pictures. Once he emailed the form and I told him I had additional things to add he said I needed pictures. At this point we were two weeks past our move and had my handyman fix the items in the garage and my daughters bed. James isn't the best at responding so I thought I would share and contact my credit card company consider I tried to file a claim and they intentionally withheld information they needed. read more
