You can tell that he's is really passionate about his work, and that he truly treats patients teeth like they are gems..... at least that's how I felt . Finished my first time patient paperwork and was in the back by 11:30. X-Rays were done and the Dr went over what he saw and answering my dumb questions. She did a great job cleaning and inspecting my teeth. She also gave me feedback on my dental health without a lecture or making me feel like a scum bag. Dr Chan examined my xrays and my teeth. He explained the cavities to me and showed me on my xrays what he was looking at.

They talked me through the process, checked in often, and kept reassuring me that I was doing "awesome" (which I still side-eye a little, but I appreciated every word of encouragement ). The appointment was long and definitely pushed me outside my comfort zone, but I never felt rushed or dismissed. The care and compassion made a huge difference, and the end result was absolutely worth it. We even bonded over our dogs -- which somehow helped calm my nerves more than anything else. Proceeded to put me on hold to 3. Finish typing out her work on the computer. I know because she didn't actually put me on hold, just threw the phone down and I heard all the typing. Then after 6+ minutes, she picked up the phone and hung it up... So I call back and had to give her all the information I just told her minutes before. " I am calling to reschedule my appt" her: "What is your name?" I give her my name... and then she says " ok, you're all set." Ma'am. We didn't reschedule anything yet. Pay attention to the customer calling on the phone and put your work to the side for a second. This happened every time I called, so then they gave the option of texting the office. Great! But they don't answer the text for days. You have to send multiple texts. Their ortho work is good but that front office staff needs customer service training. It's really bad.

That makes scheduling incredibly difficult. If anything goes wrong, like a poking wire, broken wire, or loose bracket, you may have to wait one to two weeks to be seen. If you are unavailable during those few Friday hours, you are simply out of luck. It gets worse when the office closes on a Friday or when families are out of town during school breaks. Those missed Fridays create a backlog, and appointments fill up fast. In our case, we are out of town for spring break on 3/27 and 4/3, the office is closed on 4/10, and 4/17 is already full, so my son can't be seen until 4/24. This delays his care by nearly a month. I was also frustrated by how limited their orthodontic supplies were. They gave us only one palate expander key, and when my son lost it, they did not have another one available. I had to order one online and wait nearly a week for it to arrive, which delayed treatment again. These keys are inexpensive, so not keeping extras on hand feels cheap and inconvenient. The front desk staff also seem to know very little about the orthodontic side of the practice. If I call with questions about my son's care, I am usually told to wait until Friday and speak directly with the orthodontist. This even happened with a basic scheduling question. When we forgot to make his next appointment before leaving, I called later that week to ask when he was due back and was told I needed to call again on Friday. I had to remind the receptionist she could just check his chart herself. That was frustrating and unhelpful. Unfortunately, I have also seen the general dental side of the practice decline over the years. I used to really like this office, but now the care feels inconsistent. You never know which dentist you will see because providers are switched without notice. They also no longer hand out toothbrushes or keep the toy area stocked, which may seem minor, but those small things help make visits easier for kids. I have also had frustrating inconsistencies with my twins, who are on the exact same dental schedule and insurance plan. At one visit, one twin got x-rays and the other did not, simply because they saw different providers. When I asked why, I was told it was a "judgment call," even though it was time for the x-rays and insurance would have covered them. That kind of inconsistency makes it hard to trust the care. Overall, this practice feels disorganized, inconsistent, and especially inconvenient for orthodontic patients. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.
