Horrible customer service. They pretty much fix one thing and ruin another thing so you can come back. They charge to see what's going on and on top of that they over charge you to fix the problem. RUN AWAY FROM HERE!!! Brought my car Fixed it and only lasted a few weeks I come back to let them know and they tell me that I have something else that's ruined that's the reason why i will have the problem again So, why not tell me before doing the work U would've obviously bought whatever I needed to fix it completely.. Went to Smog & Tune for an issue with my temperature gauge. Ty diagnosed it as a faulty temperature probe. He stated he needed to get the part directly from Chevrolet, which I agreed to. I went and picked it up in the evening. When I took it home it still wasn't working. I was charged $250 parts and labor. Then took it back only to have him tell me it was the thermostat that was faulty. I asked if I would get credit for the misdiagnosis and he said yes. I trusted him and told him to fix the issue but please credit me. This time around he said he credited me $50 off the labor and charged me double labor ($350 charge) I ended up paying a total of $550!! I went here today for a star certified smog check, and was immediately greatly by a lovely women, who not only help me almost immediately, but also checked for any issues that may prevent my vehicle from passing inspection, before I paid to have the test done. Most mechanics would've failed you and tried to sell you on their services to increase their profit. Here you'll get , total honestly, great customer service regardless of circumstances (it's extremely hot today, and busy, and they still took care of me). If you don't know about cars, swerve out of this place as soon as possible. My brother came here for two years and he referred me to try it out. He told me they're Vietnamese, so I'm like let me come by and support my people. The wild thing was my people tried to scam me. :( usually visit the dealership for 10k miles oil change, but I did not have time to wait for 2-3 hours. The clerk seems friendly and with a smooth tongue. The first thing I do is ask her how much is oil change. She told me it is 40$, I asked her twice before proceed with the ok to change oil. She did not reveal that there's labor cost. I waited 1 hour for the job to be completed, the mechanic broke my oil housing. He said he twisted it and it broke. I'm like ok. I've been changing oil for years and this never happened to me before. After I got the bill from the clerk, I am unhappy with the cost. They charged me for the oil housing and blamed that my car is too old. They charged me the following items below: 30$ for labor 40$ for 5 gallons of synthetic oil 30$ for tires rotation 30$ for oil housing 3$ oil waste 8$ oil filter The total cost is 149$. I asked her why am I being charged for the oil housing if the staff broke it? I told her that my brother came to her place and tire rotation is only 15$. Why are you charging me 30$? I understand inflation has everyone in a choke hold, but 100% price increased is nonsense. She was like everything we do here is cheap already and honest. I told her that she needs to adjust the price because what she charged my brother is different. I requested her to take the oil housing charge of my bill and she resisted. She told me that she had no idea that the mechanic broke the oil housing or i did. i told her how can you not know? you talk to your mechanics and curate the bill. then, she adjusted the bill. I already gave them a chance to work it out in person, but I felt upset and called them to dispute the charge again. At the same time they are were not transparent to begin with. this experience has tainted the whole place and now my family will stop coming here. i am so disappointed that she tried to take advantage of people that look like they have no knowledge of cars. Now I don't even know if my car has synthetic oil or conventional oil due to their dishonesty. They didn't pump my tires to the proper tire pressures and refill fluids. read more

This place sucks. I was referred by a family friend who had been coming here for years. I brought my car in because I was getting a lean error where there was an air leak and too much air was going into my engine. I started having the issue a few weeks prior where I would feel a jolt whenever I would accelerate. I dropped off my car and later that day I received a call from Nina stating that they recommend that I swap out my spark plugs and cabin filter. She quoted me close to $300 for all the work and I agreed although those were things I could have done myself. When I came to pickup my car, Nina tried to convince me that the car drove "better" when the car was driving exactly the same, and as matter of fact, the check engine light was still on and the car was still jolting on me. Her husband told me to come back the following day to check it again and he said it would only take an hour so I can hang around. So I paid them, left, and came back the next day early in the morning. By the time I got there, Nina's husband was already working on another car so I sat down and waited. I noticed their attitude changed from one day to another. They seemed to be bothered that I was sitting there waiting, and they were no longer the sweet, friendly people I had met the day prior. After a few minutes, Nina's husband came up to me and told me that I would have to leave the car because he was going to be a while. So I waited for my ride then left. When I came back later that day, they had parked my car at the church parking lot next door. They handed me my keys back and didn't even tell me what they did. As I was pulling out of the lot, I noticed the check engine light came back on, so I drove back to the other side of the shop and when I told Nina, the first thing out of her mouth is, "What you want to do? You want to take your car to the dealer?" In my head, I'm like, why would I want to do that when I came to you first? If they couldn't do the job, they should of just let me know instead of just taking my money. I'm unemployed and I had to use my b-day money, as well as borrow money for this and I couldn't even get my issue resolved. Her husband came to look under the hood, put some glue to stop the air leak, cleared the error code, then said, "Drive it on the freeway and if the light comes back up, bring it back." Then he just walked away and left me there hanging with my hood wide open. So I left and sure enough, the check engine light came back on. I live in Fontana so driving all the way to West Covina is not so easy for me. I didnt bother coming back, but you would think at least they would be mindful enough to follow back up with their customers, but once they have your money, they could care less. Until this day, I'm still driving with the check engine light on and at this point, I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!!! Fake and horrible customer service. read more

Mechanics know what they are doing and able fix your car issues and their services has a wide range of specialties. they will identify the problem and will ask if you want to fix the issue. Unless it's emergency they will fix right away and charge you later. Took my car in due to multiple times due to overheating issue from thermal stat to leaking pipes. What made me have them 4 stars because their front desk lady receptionist and their communication. My Service cost $70 as what he wrote down but mechanic said he'll just take $60 and told me to tell the front desk that he asked for $60, front desk denied and said the receipt said that's the amount of charge. No big deal but please communicate better and she was giving attitude toward me and tried to persuade to keep their costumer. Would I go recommend this place? Yes. They have a great team working at this place. I noticed a lot of their customers were loyal, so this place has got to be good! One customer moved to a new home about 40 minutes away, but he still drives down to All Smog & Tune for his car troubles; he explained that he trusted this place to the workers. I also overheard another customer driving in, greeting Ty by exclaiming he brought in yet another car to his favorite car mechanic. Ty has proven himself to be a very bright and honest mechanic. When I last brought in my car with an issue, he was easily able to determine that I needed to replace my alternator. A mechanic that I had previously visited about my camry noted that I needed to fix "this" and "that" with little proof. Ty even tested it out with a meter to show me what was wrong. I really appreciated that, because mechanics could easily tell customers who lack knowledge in cars ANYTHING, but he made sure that I understood what needed to be done. His wife, who also works in the shop, is very sweet. She was very informative and helpful when I didn't know the steps to a smog check. She is definitely a people person! Even though it is a bit of a farther drive compared to other mechanics in my area, the pricing is very fair and the workers are friendly. Avoid this place. Been here a few times because of the cost comparison and always found shop caused issues afterwards. Just know what's good is not cheap and what's cheap is not good. This place is living proof of that saying. Very piss poor work quality After leaving the first time. Noticed my car overheating within 15 minutes of driving. Pulled over and checked the radiator and found that these dumb dumbs forgot to plug the fans back in. Another time brought in about rattling sound and found they literally tied the loose component with a freaking hanger! Don't bother bringing in your car in a pinch past mid morning either cause he will reject it. Won't even bother with a courteous explanation, he will walk away from you!!! Tye has been working on cars for over 40 years you will not be disappointed. I went in on Tuesday March 28 for a transmission service on my '96 Previa. I spoke with Tye and as we were talking he speed dials the parts supply house ( on his vintage cordless phone ) and orders the filter and gasket. I hear him say I want the paper gasket not the rubber gasket . THAT is expirience... Your car will be fixed the first time and it will be ready when promised. read more

By far the most incompetent auto shop I've ever encountered. Their blatant disregard for the extreme combustion hazard of multiple fuel leaks should probably be reported to the Better Business Bureau. Here's what happened three months ago and why I'm dealing with this now: Bought a truck from Alltech Auto. First day, breakdown driving home from work on account of empty fuel tanks and a busted gauge. Second day, fueled up to find fuel hemorrhaging from the top of the auxiliary tank. Brought it to this shop so the dealer could set it right. Got a "new" fuel pump. Brought it back to the shop to point out a hose leaking gasoline. Got that fixed. Occasional fuel leaks. Drove to work. Spare tire bar drops on the road, dragging and sparking. Brought it back and yelled at them for their carelessness. Dealer from Alltech told the shop to take care of everything so that I wouldn't have to come back. They tightened up one hose and replaced another. I got to work, parked, saw a puddle of gasoline spilling from what they just "fixed." Brought it back again, thinking they have to get it right at some point. No. Because this is the worst, fastest, cheapest garage in the city. The last hose they replaced came at the cost of tearing a grommet on the first tank. I vented some outrage to the dealer on account of how incredibly dangerous--seriously life threatening--these fuel leaks are. I left these businesses behind to part ways and just leave it at that. Until the fuel pump that they replaced started pouring gasoline from the spout, from under the cap. If the fuel pump was new and working, the check valve would prevent fuel returning and overflowing. But these reckless mechanics could not fathom that possibility. So they cost me a hell of a lot of time, money, work, and most of all they put my life in danger five times over! They had the gaul to be irate with me for continually returning and accused me of over-filling the tanks. Worst garage around. I hope they come to understand just how much anger and animosity they have generated. Ty, may your own carelessness find you nine times over. read more

I've been going to Tye and Nina for over 10 years. He's a no BS kinda guy. Don't ask him to give you a discount, you won't like his attitude about it. His prices are by FAR better than anyone else. So to ask for a discount is insulting. He does all my break jobs, oil changes, smog checks.....and no he doesn't pass your car for a higher fee. Ty is as honest as they come. He will diagnose your vehicle and tell you what's wrong with it. He won't try to make your job bigger than it is. The other day I started my van and a loud noise like a M80 fire cracker went off and my engine started knocking. My check engine light came on immediately and was blinking which means "turn off engine, or severe damage may occur". I went to a mechanic that was close by to get an estimate. They said I needed a valve job. That's not cheap man! I took the car to Tye for a second opinion and left the car with him. He called me back and said "All Done! Come get your car." I asked how much and he said $200. He knows I won't cry about his price so he just went ahead and fixed it. Turns out that the owner of my vehicle before me had cross threaded the spark plug in cylinder 4 while installing it. So Tye fixed the threads and installed a new spark plug. I was happy to pay what he asked, Thank you Tye and Nina. By the way, Nina, his wife is the sweetest lady. She talks to you while you wait and is very helpful. She gave me referrals for other services I needed. Went out of her way to find their phone numbers I'll always go to Tye with my Vehicles. To all the complainers about his prices, it's hard to find anyone to beat him and even if they do beat his price and maybe once or twice it was only by a little, I stay loyal to Tye. Any other smog places charge $40 to smog? No. If so I'm driving out of my way to save $5-10 bucks Neither does Tye. It's at least $50 read more

We went to Tye and Nina off the recommendation of a close friend, who said they were honest, reliable and knowledgeable, and a customer for over 20 years. After working on our car the first time, it seemed to work good for awhile. The car is a few years old, so we figured it may need other things fixed and asked if they can fix other things wrong with the car while we went on a month long vacation. Even though the car wasn't ready on our return, we tried to be understanding of personal difficulties they were having at the time. We kept our rental longer to work with them needing more time to work on the car. Well here we are almost a whole year later of still having car problems and running low on money, we ask Tye to check it again he, he refuses, so my husband and another mechanic have been working on the car, by doing so they discovered the disappointing amount of Mickey mousing Tye and his crew did to our car. We paid for new parts and for the work and we got neither. We never tried to bargain, always paid in cash fully, took some of our own new parts to save time on waiting for them. Thousands of dollars we spent on this businesses. Using the car for a whole year while on the half a$$ work they did, just made the car worse. So now we are spending more to fix ALL of Tye's mistakes. He could have told us what was wrong with the car instead of Mickey mousing things, we would have been happy to pay, like we always did. Instead he choose to not be honest. They may have been reliable in the past , but that was then. I would give zero stars but that is not a option. Good reliable mechanics are very hard to find, so disappointed we couldn't get the same quality others before us got. Only good thing to come out of this whole situation is that my husband has been learning this past year how to fix our own car. read more

Owner said it's a loose gas cap, pay me 60, get out asap it's Saturday and I have a ton of cars. Next day engine light comes on again, after coming in again, he refuses to offer assistance, opens the register and throws 60 in my face and says I don't wanna see your face again. I dropped by on a whim today for a smog ck and oil change and was in and out in in a flash. I swear it felt like 20 mins. My car needs a new catalytic converter, and I was worried it wouldn't pass smog, but it did. I've also gone here for a new rear hub in the past, which I was quoted almost $500 from another mechanic. Ty replaced the hub for less than $200 out the door, saving me a few hundred dollars. I also noticed that he had a customer that drove all the way from Riverside, which says a lot. read more
