Yesterday I went and took my Honda civic because it was marking overheating, the mechanic Fernando kept the car for further evaluation and he was going to give me the estimate the next day. He proceeded to tell me the next day that it was going to be a total of 2,650 dollars because the "engine" was no longer working. I trusted my gut! And decided to ask for a second opinion him being pissed off say I had to pay a fee of 125 for running the scanner which I coulda have done for free at AutoZone! Anyone ask themselves this question: Where do I find a HONEST/FAIR mechanic? Look no further than Fernando's Auto Repair in Irwindale. I have lived in West Covina for 5 years and there is no shortage of mechanics in this and neighboring cities- Covina, Azusa, Irwindale. Within the past 9 months, I was given incorrect information and poor customer service from West Covina Nissan. I was charged over $100 to have a fuse (which I supplied) installed at Our King Auto in Covina. I was quoted $275 labor only + whatever parts was going to cost to fix my window switch at JCW in Azusa (this may be my next Yelp review). I rolled my 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid into Fernando Auto Shop in Irwindale and explained the problem to Fernando Jr. a) drivers side main window switch lowers ONLY the rear passenger windows. b) all window switches (except drivers) are fine (lowers and raises window) c) drivers window was working off and on for the past few weeks. Within minutes of taking off the panel and looking at the master switch, Fernando suggested I needed a new master window switch. He made a couple of calls, the dealer wanted $320 for the part. The other call was for an off- brand, which still topped off at $280-$290! By the look on my face, Fernando could tell that was a hard pill to swallow. He suggested I look online. I showed him a couple of auto part sights, Fernando recognized one and said to call them to make sure it is the correct part for my car. I called, ordered, and the part came in three days later at a cost with free shipping of less than $21!!! NOW, here I am on a late Friday afternoon with my drivers window rolled down waiting for my window switch to arrive in 3 days. I live in West Covina and park in the street! I ask Fernando if there was any way he can get my window up(?). If not, I was going to get a couple of rolls of duct tape... You get the picture. After a few seconds, Fernando said to follow him. We walked over to a Nissan Murano (his ride), where he removed the window switch and tested mine. After this he was 100% sure it was the main switch AND he took the good switch from the Murano and raised my window... Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Camille with JCW auto repair in Azusa made it sound like they were going in for some major time-consuming surgery, quoting me $275 for labor. I asked him why so much? He said they HAD TO REMOVE ALL 4 WINDOW SWITCH PANELS. Well JCW auto repair, your loss is Fernando's auto repairs gain because I have more things that need looking at. About last year i brought my car to replace an alternator. Once he replaced it with a JUNK YARD ALTERNATOR. 1st of all the ALTERNATOR WAS DEFECTIVE 2nd of all when i started my car it had a strange noise that i have never heard. I argued about for a warranty but he would says its running fine but i went to a more experience mechanic and he said that the alternator is no good. he a scammer tryna make a buck. He also didn't tighten my FUCKING SERPENTINE BELT THAT HOLD THE ALTERNATOR AND RIPPED WHILE ON THE ROAD!!! I really hope people take there business here it's horrible read more

I needed front rotors and brake pads my 09 Infiniti G37 - Fernando was able to give me a quote on the spot and had my car ready in 3 hrs. Not sure the brand he used but I do know he used ceramic pads which reduce noice when stopping. After getting out of the shop I tested the brakes and they were perfect. Forgot to write a review a while back When I took my jeep in for repairs. Fernando is awesome and honest most importantly. I had a broken transmission mount and instead of up selling me to replace both mounts he said we could get away with 1 and the other should be fine. Honesty is tough to find in this industry, but these guys are and it's a huge relief. Also he showed me everything that was broken so I could see it for myself. Took my 2008 bmw here and Fernando was quick to figure out that my front brake sensor was broken. I took my car to American Tire Depot in cypress (which is where I live) 3 times and all 3 times they never figured out my break sensor was gone. Fernando quickly got me a fair price and arranged a date to get it fixed. On the day I arrived to get the break sensor replaced I asked Fernando if he could take a look at my rear car door since it was not opening at all. He was quick to figure out it was the actuator and fixed it that day! Although I live about 30 miles away from his shop, guaranteed honesty and great service are worth it!! read more

Took in my 63 thunderbird was having some tranny issue not shifting gear so decided to leave the car I live close but minor but big thing they even offered to give me a ride home which I thought was pretty great customer service. Got a call from Fernando they figured out the problem was smaller than I had thought they waited for my approval then got to work instead of trying to up sell me on tranny rebuilt or etc he told minor thing.
