First things first, walked in to an empty front office. Sat there for a good 5-10 minutes, before walking into the service area to locate one of the mechanics to assist me with locating the guy taking payment or front desk guy/owner. Had a coupon for this place 19.99 for smog. 8.95 extra for suv, 8.25 for certificate fee. You guys do the math. We called and they said it'll be 45 dollars total. So I brought it in since it's the closest one to us.I mentioned it to the guy at the front and he said, smog? it's 50. I asked, how's it 50? The person on the phone said 45? He said certificate fee .. I said 19.99, 8.95 for suv, and before i can finish he cut me off and said.. "Let me know if you want to do it before we bring it in." Was already there, so might as well right? When it was finished, the guy rang me up for 60, I told the guy .. phone call was 45? You said 50? Now 60? luckily i checked before tapping my card. Came to get a thorough diagnostic check done. My check engine light was on and I went to auto zone to see what was the problem. The only code that came up was to replace the MAP sensor. I bought the sensor and decided to use Purrfect auto service's coupon where you get a free diagnostic check if you do the service with them since autozone couldn't install the part for me. I explained what I needed to the owner and everything was fine. I mentioned I had the part already. (My first mistake) They were quick to inspect the car. Came back and said my wires had been "chewed" and I need to replace the sensor AND the wires. (This was weird to me because I had just taken it to autozone and that code did not pop up.) Also the wires looked like they were cut on the right side. It was going to be over $1,000. Then he started naming a bunch of other things I "needed" so it became closer to $3000. When I reminded him that I had the part already, he said he couldn't use the part because it was cheap. I Looked around and all the parts they were using for other cars were also Duralast. When I said I would take it else where, he all of a sudden dropped the price $400. When I said no he said he would give me 5 min to think about it. When I said no again, he gave attitude. I took it for a second opinion and got it done for a much cheaper price. They used my sensor. And explained to me that my wires looked like they were definitely cut with wire cutters, not chewed. If I could give this shop zero stars I most definitely would. But praying for them and the karma they will receive from trying to scam a postpartum college student. Shame on you all. read more

Not so purrfect. Had an appointment for a smog test. Upon arrival, I was told their smog test employee was out sick. I wondered why this place of business would not even notify their customers by phone to not go in and reschedule. I ended up rescheduling for an afternoon appointment for the next day. I went in and upon arrival, I was told the machines for smog test were down. Then was told to come back at the end of the week. No thank you. For a place that relies on customers for business, you sure treat your customers with very little consideration. The decent thing would have been to call your customers who had appointments so they could either reschedule or not give their business at all. It was already a bad impression from the start and again on the second day- I was not given the courtesy of a phone call. I understand things happen, but I believe this situation could have been handled better. Extremely frustrated at the lack of professionalism from this location on (3/2/26) i went in to get my car serviced (window regulator) and ended up leaving with a fresh set of problems that is the fault of whoever worked on my car here. This location has no clear communication as they gave me a date to pick up my vehicle and instead of following up to give me a date, there was a lack of urgency when it came to communicating anything to me, leaving me to call for information multiple times. You'd think after 5 days they would have done a good job. They didn't reattach nearly anything properly, scratched my tint, my floor mats were left filthy, and there was sticky residue left on multiple surfaces of my car. I came to PURR Auto in West Covina on May 19th for a smog check and didn't pass due to a visual issue--two hoses needed to be replaced. They offered to fix them on-site, but I had a family member take care of the repair instead. After that, I stopped by another smog shop for advice, and they mentioned that most places offer a free retest if you go back to the same location or may offer a discount for returning. So I returned to PURR Auto, hoping that would be the case. Unfortunately, just like many other reviews have said, there was no flexibility at all. No complimentary retest, no credit, no discount--just a full charge all over again. I was disappointed, especially because I came back in good faith expecting at least some kind of customer consideration. The service was quick, but the policy is rigid and not very customer-friendly. If you think there's even a small chance you won't pass the first time, I'd recommend asking up front or going somewhere with a more generous retest policy. read more
