It is real food, from the fried okra, fried catfish, slaw, and a dish I never would have thought I would order, (but did) is the Grilled Shrimp and Rice dish. It is so much more than what it sounds, so, that today, I found my new favorite dish, and will be ordering it, again, this week. The cook knows what she is doing! And that dish alone deserves a title! When you order; you are taken care of, and what I mean by that is; you don't get a dab of tartar sauce in a little cup, like a lot of places might do. For me, I got all I needed. The fried okra is like no way, you have ever tasted it, before. And the slaw is good, too. I can't wait to explore the other dishes, as well, because this is the first time, I have tasted their food. Grilled Tilapia, steak, and much, much more fill their menu. The spicing of the food is also perfect, in my opinion, instead of just smothering it all in salt. Intimate lighting and a dark-wooded interior lent itself to a wonderfully romantic evening. In the end, we went for two filets, the crispy potatoes, and brussel sprouts. Brace yourself: the steaks were some of the best I've ever experienced. NO JOKE. I've traveled the world and would consider myself a connoisseur of fine steaks. Without a doubt, the filets we had at the Vault stand up to anything I've ever had in NYC, Paris, or Dallas. Come with an empty stomach if you get the pork chop. It is a very generous portion and is delicious! The grouper was perfection...crispy on the outside, light and flakey inside, sitting atop beautiful spring vegetables and a lovely light beurre blanc sauce. It was topped with edible flowers and micro greens. I regret that I did not take a photo (we were so hungry), but it was just divine.
