Food is delicious! I normally don't eat fried food but, this place changes that. Fresh squeezed lemonade!!! it was perfect not too watery, not too tart, not too sweet, just right. Coconut shrimp and jumbo fried shrimp was very good. The sauces are delicious. Catfish was just right. I ordered the catfish and jumbo shrimp combo, my husband ordered catfish dinner and an order of coconut shrimp. We had so much food that we will probably have one or two more meals each from this order. Very reasonably priced. We did take out so I can't really comment on the ambience or the service. My husband picked it up and he said the people working there were very very nice. Don't let the appearance of the outside fool you, it is worth every penny. We were near Bubba's and had heard good things about it so we stopped for lunch. Wife had 2 catfish lunch ( fries, hush puppies, slaw & sweet tea) , I had the 3 piece catfish with same sides. Bubba's is a little hole in the wall. Place but has lots of character and a friendly staff. The catfish wasn't bad at all. It's a solid 4 stars and the hush puppies and fries were very good!! The hush puppies were well seasoned and the right texture (if you know you know), the beans were good, fries were perfect, the coleslaw was excellent, and catfish was fresh with great coating, and the fried okra---YUM! Best food we had while visiting Hot Springs! Customer service was excellent, and even though it looks like just a drive through, there's plenty of seating inside. They have a great 10 piece special that includes: 10 pieces of fried cat fish & 2 large sides. Plus we added a pound of boiled shrimp and we had more food than enough for everyone. Went to this drive up restaurant to get a couple of seafood platters for a family of four. The fish and chicken were quite good, was not as impressed with the fried crawfish. They were still good. Beans were excellent. I thought the price was very reasonable for what we received. We will definitely stop here again when I'm in Hot Springs. read more

We took our catfish, jumbo shrimp combo to go (due to limited seating and lack of AC). With an extra half order (5) of hush puppies (only 2 came with the combo), there was plenty of food for two people as the combo also came with fries and coleslaw. I loved the catfish, hush puppies and coleslaw. The batter on the shrimp was a little heavier than on the catfish, so fractionally not as good as the catfish. The tartar sauce and cocktail sauce were homemade and fantastic. Fries had a batter (not my favorite kind of fries). We also got sweet teas to round off an excellent meal! read more

This place was so good! We got crab cakes as an appetizer. My husband got a meat pie plate and I got a catfish plate and crawfish meat pie. ( we wanted to try it all haha). Definitely my favorite place to eat on our trip to Hot Springs. Wasn't busy when I came during dinner time but then I realize I got lucky as cars started trickling in. You can tell a bunch of locals come here too and they love it. We got the Fish N' Shrimp combo. From what I could tell, it's fried to order. The catfish was juicy and the seasoning in the batter made it even more flavorful. I went to the jumbo shrimp route and it was just as good after being recommended by it from a nice local who was there as well. Crispy and lots of meat. The meal only came with 2 hushpuppies though if you were expecting more. And always get their Dill tartar sauce which is a perfect complement to all the fried seafood. Bubba's completely satisfied our craving for fried catfish. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside with moist and flakey meat on the inside. They even threw in an extra fillet for us and gave us plenty of dipping sauces. The combo with fried jumbo shrimp and crawfish tails made for a very nice meal to share. OK, we are tourists staying at the RV resort just down the road from Bubba's. Don't let the divy appearance fool you, these folks crank out some crazy good food. My wife and I did the sampler plate and it was way more than enough for both of us. I thought the catfish was the best I have ever eaten and my wife said the same about the jumbo shrimp. Neither one of us are fans of hush puppies but these were great. They did not have inside dining going but the place is tiny anyway. We had our lunch at one of the picnic tables outside. We got talking to the owner, who is a very nice guy. He told us how he sources the best catfish and shrimp. I wish this place delivered to Dallas but we will be back in November! read more

I absolutely love catfish & really had a taste for it. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed! I had the half order of catfish & shrimp. It was seasoned perfectly, not over-salted, and the fish was moist, tender & flaky. The shrimp, hush puppies, fries & cole slaw were all delicious as well. My husband had the crab cakes, and he really liked them also, and the sauce was especially delicious. He also commented on how much he liked the fries; golden, crispy & not over-salted. The fried pies were a new treat which we both really enjoyed as well. The employees were very friendly, welcoming, and went above & beyond to make our visit enjoyable. Typically I hate catfish, but I actually enjoyed it here. It's not the best catfish I've ever had, but it's still good. There was no black meat or gamey flavour. The size of the filets ran from slightly thick to pretty thin, but I liked the variety. The shrimp are just okay, and I'm pretty sure they're the frozen/ready-to-fry variety. They do the job, but it makes more sense to get catfish here. I really enjoyed the fried pickles. They're spears instead of chips, which I adore and don't see much of in Texas. The crawfish pie has a shell that is reminiscent of a frozen pot pie, and the innards remind me of crawfish etouffee. It's good, but I personally got tired of the shell halfway through. read more
