This batting cage is just like you remember them. Literally. The paint has not changed and the cracked cement is vintage. It is unlikely even a lightbulb has been changed here since the Bush administration. But the machines work and the glory of smashing a tater into the chainlink circus tent is very satisfying. I hadn't been here in years! I went back and I see they are remodeling the inside! That's exciting. The cages need remodeling too! $10 min for $1 = 8 pitch's, and they give you the quarters to put into the machine and they fix the machine right then and there if you need the ball to be balanced to your height when swinging! You can use a card too! Only thing is go with gloves, and a helmet just in case because the ball may hit ur head lol, I came with just my gloves and they do have old used bats for you to use too but you can bring your own! This place was nice and easy as a walk in on a Saturday. The cages were labeled with the mph, and the front desk gentleman explained everything smoothly for us. They have chips, snacks and ice cream upfront, legit like baseball snack bar food. It was really cool. There is a softball side and a baseball fast pitch sides and different speed levels which is nice. I've been here a few times to practice for a softball tournament. I've brought my nephew. This place is pretty decently priced, clean, and the machines work well. Sometimes you'll get a ball that's thrown out awkwardly but most pitches are great. I'd recommend batting gloves and bringing your own bats because the ones they have to offer are not all that. read more

This place was a hot mess! How could the owner not be embarrassed. We brought our whole softball team and the parents to practice. Trash everywhere, tools and equipment all over, definitely safety concerns for sure. I would not recommend this spot to anyone. Too expensive. The trainers who were training the kids were bothering me and my son too much. Let us just use the cage and have fun. Your son is doing this wrong he should do this, whatever dude. My only qualm with All-Star is the NON up-to-date facilities. The staff is quick and efficient you're not standing around waiting for someone to help you. 11 pitches = $1 and that's gotta be cool for even the most frugal people. There are only about 4-5 slow pitch lanes and probably 12-15 fast pitch and one is almost 99% of the time Out-of-Order. The balls sometimes get stuck in the loading machine and that can be rather frustrating. They've got a nice little pro shop with some bats and gloves for sale..arcades and ICEE/refreshments. I do find it interesting that I've never had to wait super long for my turn. The longest I've waited is probably 10 minutes. There's chairs and tables to sit and wait or you can watch other people practice their swing. In my honest opinion that parking lot is a disaster. I don't think functionally it's appropriate as the street parking is SO close to the actual parking lot itself that upon exiting you must be dangerously close to being out in the lane and possibly getting struck by an oncoming vehicle. The facilities itself are rather out of date. The women's restroom is in dire need of a makeover. You can just tell it's been there for a long time but still love coming here and getting some swings in. read more

I go this cage only because it is the closest and go off hours. 8 pitches for a buck. there is only 2-3 seconds between pitches not good. Coin operated machines poor condition, jam frequently. Listed MPH on cages clearly not accurate. on a scale of 1-10, a low 2. There is only one person there during the early day, and it is unclear whether he speaks English or not. He certainly does not know how to operate or trouble shoot equipment. I highly recommend that you go to Torrance Batting Cages in Wilson Park. Granted it opens at 1400 hours on weekdays and 1000 hrs on weekends. Far better machines and support staff. read more

On the slow pitch softball, I only received a combined 11 pitches on 3 different machines for $3.00, and even those pitches were all over the place. Of all the batting cages I've visited in the Long Beach, Cerritos, and Lakewood area, this is by far my favorite place. $1 = 13 pitches 15 minutes for $12 30 minutes for $22 1 hour for $34 They have 13 cages. 5 for softball (3 slow-pitch, 2 fast pitch [adjustable speed]) and 8 baseball cages. (one 35 mph, one 40 mph, two 50 mph, two 60 mph, one 70 mph, one 80 mph) Make sure to visit their website and print out their coupons for the cage time rental ($1 off the 15 minutes, $2 off the 30 minutes, $3 off 1 hour) My friend and I did a 30 minute rental. The good thing was after 13 pitches, we switched because the machine would stop and then to start it back up, you'd have to press the button on the inside of the cage. read more

I LOVE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! The cashier that helped us was great, positive demeanor and extremely helpful! They have increased prices since the other reviews have been posted so it is now $14/15min and up. You can still choose to pay $1/13 pitches though if you're like me and get tire easily and like to take breaks between sets (haha) They do give you a free bat and helmet rental, simply ask. It was really crowded when I went but it was a Friday and I'm pretty sure it was because of the little league season. I would probably recommend going on mon-thur if you want your choice of batting cages. However, all machines were in order and everyone at the cages were friendly. All in all a great experience!
