We've had both our kids attending clinics and use the open gym membership for the past several years. (one in their soccer academy and the other baseball) It's not cheap however in this case I believe you "get what you pay for" but also what your athlete puts into it. In other words both of our kids understand that this is for their benefit and not just another activity. They take it seriously and work hard here. There has been some turnover with coaches but they tend to hire very knowledgeable and quality people. Overall both our kids absolutely love the place. I personally like the energy they (CQ) have and the idea of committing to a specific goal. The ultimate goal is not just improving as an athlete but in many cases the students here aim to compete at the highest level. (college etc) read more

Be careful before you sign up your kids here. This is my son's third quarter here. I have been paying $268 every month since September not including $480 initial payment. I notified them 2 weeks ago that May will be the last month my kid will attend here. But I was told that I need to pay $500 penalty because we were supposed to be here for 4 quarters!!! When I first signed up, I thought the enrollment here was quarterly, and we can withdraw anytime after finishing up the quarter. I didn't pay attention to the documents when I was signing and today I found out that the enrollment agreement says 4 Full quarters! What kind of business practice this is? Why would anyone is required to attend 4 full quarters?? The clinics were fine but other than that I didn't feel they deliver all those services they promised when they sold me this training clinics. I should have paid attention to the review of another person here who had a similar experience as me. My son never received quarterly evaluation because those dates and times , he had other activities. But no one from Champion's quest followed up about why he wasn't evaluated after being here for 3 quarters. There was zero parent conference. Their business practice is shady. read more

Let me start off with the positive - The clinics they offer here are excellent. I cant emphasize this enough, they really work the athlete hard, and you will see a difference in their performance. The part I don't like - My son has been here for about 3 months, and from what I am noticing, if you are not doing private sessions, you get treated differently. If you are not doing private sessions, the coaches won't talk to you, or speak to you about your child's progress much. They just tend to ignore you. However, they will spend plenty of time chatting it up with private session parents. Just recently they had their quarterly assessment, and I noticed how the coaches sit down with the parents and explain the results. I have seen that these parents are putting their children in private sessions. My son has not been doing private sessions, so no one bothered to share the assessment results with me. I have no idea what area he is doing well in and what area he needs improvement. I really like the clinics, but I am not really liking the poor attitude displayed by some of the coaches. I am locked into the contract till the end of summer, but after that I will probably not renew and find another place for my son. read more

I read a reviewer that stated your child will only get attention if they do private sessions. NOT TRUE! My daughter does private sessions and her trainer, Derrick Campbell will only talk to me if there is anything he needs to address & bring awareness related to training. And it's not very often. I will say it occurred more in the beginning after clinics. A couple of the trainers including Derrick approached me after a clinic to bring awareness so that when my daughter did certain things to remind her the correction so that she doesn't have let's say for example, back issues & such in the future. My daughter's club sends their players to another training facility near their location & receive a significant discount BUT I will not transfer her our of CQ. Derrick is her trainer and he is EXCELLENT & very approachable! He knows his craft & is full of knowledge. I've called him when my daughter has been injured from playing her sport & asked him how to wrap and/or how to strengthen the area because even when I take her to a sports clinic, sometimes they don't always know what to do or give you wrong info & it helps to have someone like Derrick for input. Attention to detail is an understatement. He catches everything from a foot positioned wrong, knees are facing wrong way when jumping, posture is incorrect when taking off to run etc., etc. & these affect performance. The first time he came to one of my daughter's games (& oh ya did I mention, these trainers will attend some games to assess your child's performance?) afterwards, he talked to us & not only did he provide feedback to my daughter he also told her the issues her teammates had for example certain girls he can tell had weak knees because of the way they jumped, some had ankle issues, etc. etc. The next time my daughter went to a private session, he had a full page of assessment from her game that he went over with her & set goals for her workouts & which clinics would benefit her. Really the list goes on & on. I will say the one thing I didn't like about CQ was at the beginning. I almost didn't sign up my daughter as it took a couple of follow up calls to reach Ryan. It made me feel like he didn't want my business because I had to follow up. I'm hoping they've improved this as kids can really benefit from CQ. If that happens to you, overcome this little hurl just make an appointment for your child to attend a session then talk to someone while you're there. Don't miss out on excellent training because of this besides, Ryan doesn't train anyway. I'm glad I did as my daughter is benefitting from Derrick & I'm VERY pleased! My sister in law's daughter has a different coach & she's really good as well. Other coaches will lead the clinics sometimes & they too are very knowledgable. I prefer Derrick but you can't go wrong w/the other coaches as well! read more

Enrolling my daughter in Champion's Quest is the best investment thus far. Before Champion's Quest her attitude and her athleticism was in a very bad place. At first I was not sure what the real difference was between going to Champion's Quest or a 24 hours fitness type, but surely after the first three months I saw the difference. The difference became obvious after three months. She was very positive and confident, her athletic improvement was improving. I noticed that the coaches know the kids very well. Every quarter they have a one-on-one session to talk about goals and measure progress. The coaches make personal contact and connect with the kids. I am actually trying to enroll my second daughter and son. This is one of the best youth athletic programs I have ever seen. I am very pleased with the results. read more

Suspect business practices: I visited Champions Quest for a facility tour along with program details including fees. It was verbally stated that my son would receive a year of training for the same discounted fee that other boys on his team received who previously joined. I paid the yearly fee in full as was required, since no monthly plan was offered. This was certainly not my preference but I agreed as it seemed the norm. About 4 months later I was shocked when my son brought home his written evaluation with a new contract for for program renewal and payment. I thought this was an error, but was accused of being "confused"after multiple emails from two different employees with screens hots of my original enrollment form. Actually the emails were sure to emphasize my contraction but taking no accountabilty for verbal misrepresentation of terms. Not even a suggestion that the employee should have stated the exact dates, simy all my fault all my according to these emails. Sounds like an experience with a car dealership? Yes, that image immediately came to mind. So, the printed dates of my "contact" in June 2015 through May 2016. However, The employee hand wrote in changes to the contract giving me to the option to pay in 3 installments. I had no reason to believe this anything but a standard form given to each patent since kids enroll continually at different times through the year. I believed my son would be given the full year of sessions as verbally promised. I would not have enrilled him otherwise. Why would I accept half the time for the same fee? Basically I let my guard down and took the word of an employee at a youth training facility. I doubt many parents would have done differently. I will say that the employee who actually trained my son is quite nice and seems to connect with young athletes. read more

I love Champion's Quest! I started taking my daughter here about 6 months ago. She is a swimmer but out of the pool not that much of an athlete but after a few months, I can't believe her progress and her attitude. The staff is wonderful and I think that's the main reason for her improvement. They are so positive with the kids! I enrolled him in CQ at the end of 2014 and since then (7 months) he as added nearly 30 pounds to his frame, is dramatically stronger, and on his way to play safety at St. John's. I have 2 daughters who have gone to Champion's Quest on and off over the past 8 or 9 years based on sports they have participated in and just for overal conditioning. They have participated in group, summer sports sessions, and individual training with a specific Champion's Quest coach. My youngest daughter, a junior level rower, is currently coming to Champion's Quest for personal training. Why Champion's Quest? 1.) Core Strengthening: High school sports are amazingly competitive these days. Many coaches teach and train an athlete for a sport but the core strengthening that makes them better in that sport is not always addressed in the same manor. This core strengthening increases an athlete's stability and endurance, and helps to prevent sports injury. 2.) An added competitive edge: At Champion's quest, the trainers also deal with the competitive "mind". They address what is necessary in order to achieve an athelete's goals on the team. They talk with the athlete. They address their mental blocks, concerns, and teach them to manage and achieve their goals. They become a sounding board for the athlete. They help them with frustration they may feel about their team or their performance as an athlete. They give them perspective and a plan for success. 2.) The trainers: These people are amazing. They know their sports, have history in the sports, and they relate beautifully to their athletes. To come to this program and know my athlete is being safely trained by an experienced trainer who is college educated, that the trainer knows the sport of rowing, rowed in college, knows the "lingo" associated with the sport, and motivates my athlete to work her tail off and come back for more? Need I say more? I have a friend whose daughters came monthly to Champion's Quest for additional training sessions for volleyball. She said one session at Champion's Quest was like an additional month of usual practice times in what they learned and got out of the more individualized training. Champion's Quest gives your athlete a competitive edge. Short or long term, group or private, it's a quality investment in your athelete. read more
