Santoro's has been my go to for a great hot Italian or American sub, an occasional gyro or some weiners or pizza...it is some of the best memories of that neighborhood when I lived in NP and still seeing as I only live 5 mins away in PVD now. SUPER SOLID! This was the very first place I ate at after moving to Rhode Island. It was close to my new home so I went there out of convenience. Through the years it became a staple. I often got takeout and delivery depending on the day. My go-to order was the gyro platter with fries and a salad. They also have decent pizza, wieners and baklava. Nothing fancy, but delicious food. I always get a gyro and pizza from here. The veggies are nice and fresh, the pizza always delicious. The tzatziki sauce is perfect. The crust, sauce, amount of cheese and other toppings on the pizza are always perfect. The fries definitely taste like frozen ones that are put into the frier, but I really like them. Not fancy, but tasty nonetheless. The only thing I would definitely take a star from them for is the state of the bathroom. It was a single toilet and sink type of bathroom and the floor was pretty wet and the bathroom smelled heavily of urine. If they kept that up, it would be a great little spot to eat in. I did eat in here and the waiter was attentive enough, but it seems that it's more of a to-go spot. The pizza was a decent size, lots of fresh ingredients, plentiful amount of toppings. The crust was baked just right and was crispy and delicious. Do not order any food from that restaurant place. First the don't know how to make any pasta that has flavor or taste. Its dry tasteless and awful. it's seems there cooks can only make burgers or hot wennies. I ordered a pizza with black olive and pepperoni. The smell from the black olive was disgusting like they used a can of olives that were 25 years old. The penna with chicken and broccoli was as dry as the desert. Just awful. Santoros serves up one of the best Italian subs I've ever had. It's filling but not nauseating, and the cold cuts are fresh and flavorful. Yes, they use stringy iceberg lettuce, but that's to be expected in a small pizza place like this. At $6.75 for a large sub, the prices ain't bad. I wish I could report on some other things on the menu, but I've only ever had an Italian. I noticed they have some interesting selections, like buffalo fries, cheesy bacon fries, and let's not forget the hot wieners!! Ha. That's definitely something I won't be ordering... Ever. We just had an order of Fish & Chips and a Pepper & Onion Pizza delivered. The pizza is delicious as usual, but the F&C? Amazing! First, it is an abundant portion. Fish is beautifully golden and CRUNCHY. Only lightly battered so the portion on the plate is all fish, not breaded coating. French Fries are phenomenally crunchy, too. We love Santoros. We are all a little under the weather and decided to stay in for New Years. Board games and pizza with the kiddos is our exciting NYE plans. The pizza was perfect. The crust is crispy and soft at the same time in the best way possible. The sauce is flavorful and the cheese is ooey gooey! My son and I split a deluxe steak sandwich and it was the best steak sandwich I have ever had and I'm not being dramatic. The bread was toasted just enough so the meat did not make it soggy, but not as toasty as garlic bread. There had to be a half of pound of shaved steak that was perfectly seasoned and not greasy. The veggies we diced finely so they were blended with the meat. There was just the right amount of melty cheese. This time I ate in. My daughter received a HUGE portion of spaghetti and thie sauce is pretty tasty! MY father had their pizza, no complaints. I had the special: 2 wieners, salad and fries. I have to say their meat sauce was dry, not as tasty as other places around but they have the good blue cheese here! Points for that! It's a family owned and operated Greek restaurant that gives you that option to dine in or take out. I have only ordered out from here for lunch. The prices are affordable and their portions are hefty but filling! They never skimp out on the meats in their antipasto salad or their gyros. Which is just plain amazing. Their deep-dished Greek pizzas are filled with layers of stringy cheese, tasty sauce and lots of toppings. Their staff are very friendly and accommodating. The parking is on the tight and narrow.
