Finally I had my excuse to make the trip north to Woonsocket. I'm so glad I did. This place packs in so much stuff! A full grocery, plus deli counter and you can order a hot lunch. There's a cozy seating area with Polish clothing, books and art around to give it life. I walked around ten store for a bit, overwhelmed by all the delights on the shelves. I picked up a few items and went to the register. There, I also picked up my scoop. They serve homemade gelato and sorbet here, and I chose the amarena gelato (cherry). She served it up, added a cute little cookie and then I went outside to sit and eat. The texture of this wasn't quite gelato. But it wasn't quite sorbet, either. It was almost like a sherbert. It was smooth, fruity and a little creamy. The marinated cherry flavor really came through. If I could compare it to something family, it was like a grown up version of the old Flintstone Cherry sherbet Push-Up popsicle. I loved it. And I will get it again next time I come in. Krakow is such a special place, their Polish selection is awesome. It made me want to buy a Polish cookbook to learn how to use all the ingredients I saw! If you've ever had a pierogi, that's enough reason to stop in. Just make sure you get some gelato, too!

The pizza is on point (perfect crust, great flavor), and the smashburgers are next-level. Juicy, crispy edges, everything you want in a burger. It's the kind of place where you can grab a casual dinner, hang out with friends, and end up staying way longer than you planned because the atmosphere is just that good. The crust of these pies is more akin to a pan style pizza than what I would think of as a bar or tavern pie. It had that buttery crisp that reminds me of old school Pizza Hut (and I mean that complementary!). The sauce was a solid supporting character, the real star are the cheese and toppings here. It tastes and stretches like they use a blend of cheddar and mozzarella. The pepperoni was cooked to perfection. The cups pooling with oil and so crunchy. The chicken was quite tender and most on the other pizza, and the dill pickle taste was in full force, exactly as I was hoping! An easy waste of money. They have a big menu online but only about 1/4 of the menu is displayed at this location. They also have the world's smallest selection of Pepsi products. A good amount of Coke products though. My last visit was beyond disappointing and a big shocker coming from J's. I think I'll stay away from this place for awhile.

You always know what you're getting at The Beef Barn and that's exactly how it should be. I typically visit the other location because it is closer to me, but I was in the Bellingham area and was happy to be able to visit this location.
