Had a bad experience here. Brought my car in for state inspection a little over a year ago - debated even posting this because morally I want to support small businesses (especially minority-owned ones) but realized I really should warn others. Took them a week to inspect my car after making n appointment and confirming they weren't backed up - and had to call to inquire them twice. I kept walking by the business and they were constantly parking my car in different spots/moving. When they finally called me (after I kept asking them about it) they claimed my car was completely run down and I would need to pay a few thousand in repairs or I needed to take it away. First, they almost lost my car keys. Then, they said my battery was dead which was untrue, as it was not old and ran fine after jumping it - I suspect they just ran it dead. They also tried to say I needed new breaks, needed tons of engine work, my AC was broken, there was massive underwork on the carriage needed, the list went on and on to pass state inspection - 90% wrong. Their response raised red flags as I often keep up with work on the vehicle as Subarus have a long life if looked after and a lot of these issues were never brought up before. Upon getting a second opinion elsewhere, two separate mechanics at other places confirmed that most of what was listed was completely inaccurate and was very confused by what All Tech Automotive was claiming on the report I was given. I would suggest you to be VERY careful going to this place for work or state inspections - I suspect he either massively upcharges, tries to get you to buy into extra work for the car, or the mechanics are just bad at their jobs. I was a young looking college student at the time so I think he thought I didn't know better. I get times are tough with inflation, and most of his clients are probably wealthier off than me with my older car due to the neighborhood he's located in, but I don't appreciate being lied to in such a severe manner when I'm trying to give a place business. Hopefully, this saves someone else tons of time and money, I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone posting this as the other reviews claimed he was such a decent guy. read more

Second time my 2020 Honda was worked on by Bang, once for rear brakes and the second for a state inspection. 100 % satisfied each time, car was finished when promised, and at a fair price ! I highly recommend this small local business. Will definitely use Bang in the future. read more

Bang is the best!!! It's very hard to find a mechanic you trust. For several years now I have been brining our second car to him. He is always fair and honest and never does work without talking to you about it first. I can bring a check engine light to him and each time and he will not only check the code but look into the issue for free every single time. He patiently explained to me what needed to be done to my vehicle, how long it would take, and then tendered me a very fair and reasonable price. Great mechanic. I just moved to the area. South Philly has as many auto mechanics as it does dive bars, so it can be overwhelming where to go. My knowledge about cars is about as extensive as my knowledge about nuclear physics, so I"m a prime suspect to be ripped off, and have been a victim of this in the past. luckily all tech is run by a really nice mechanic. he's asian and i can see how some people might have difficulty understanding him but the prices are great and he will show you exactly what he has to do with your car. i priced out the services he provided and found that they were better than any other place i could find. they were also significantly cheaper than the meineke i used to go to for brake issues and the sort. Also very convenient scheduling. The couple of times I've been there he's been working on my car within an hour or so. Oil changes happen even faster. Finding a good mechanic is valuable. sometimes you think you have one and then after a year or two you realize you were being overcharged on everything they did. ive done my homework with all tech and the prices are great on everything i've had done thus far. i'm also getting friendly and quick service. read more

I first went to Bang when I ran over a mystery creature at night, in the Pine Barrens, because it was dark and late and I was going 60+ and I really didn't see it run out into the road. Anyway, the bottom part of my car was detached and Bang screwed on some things and charged me barely anything for it. I've since gotten oil changes, another emergency situation was resolved when he skillfully removed a nail from a tire I had no idea deflated. He never EVER tries to do more than necessary, but will always guide me and advise me on what issues may come in the future. The competitive prices are like nothing I've ever known. Car distress can't phase me now! And you should do yourself a favor and head on down to Pennsport the next time your wheels have a need. read more

He always gives me an estimate free of charge before he does any work. I've never had a repair go bad and he charges a very fair price. I am very skeptical when it comes to trusting mechanics. I have been ripped off way too many times. I went to Bang for a cheap oil change. When the serpentine belt was going on my car I decided to give him a chance. I liked his demeanor from the first time I met him. HE charged me 70.00 when the cheapest I could find was 100. I love how he tells me things to keep an eye on in the future pertaining to what has wear and tear on my car. He let me find a part for cheaper and installed it for a low price. I had an 2006 745Li BMW and my car cut off near this location. I got a free diagnosic done. And he fixed the problem less then 3 hours. I dont have that car any more. I now drive a 2004 Ford Expedition that was given to me, in which I only let All Tech work on. It rides like a charm. It only been to the shop 3 times in 2 years in I have over 200K plus miles. I get offers from everyone to buy my vehicle. You cant even hear when my car is turned on, its that quiet. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The first time I met Bang, I had a leak in my tire and didn't know what to do. He brought me into the garage and showed me exactly what he was doing - the tricks he uses to find a leak, speculated on what might have caused it and showed me how to patch it, too. I was so impressed with his genuine willingness to help and his excitement about what he does. I've been going to him ever since! He tells you up front what needs to be done to your car to keep it running like new (and if that's not possible, he tells you that too!), and gives you a running list of repairs needed in priority order from most essential/dangerous to "whenever you can get to it". This makes it so you can do the work little by little, picking off one thing at a time as you have the money for it. His pricing is reasonable, he works super hard, and he runs a good, honest business. He's helped me out in emergency situations, helped me maintain my old ass car, and even advised me on what cars to buy and not buy. Yes the labor is expensive at $85 an hour but it was well worth it you could save money if you buy your own parts and pay cash. I purchased a 1998 volvo s70 for $250 knowing it needed a lot of work. I looked all over for a mechanic who knew what I needed to get done. I shopped around one shop near my work wanted $1900. Another shop I will not mention there name but they are located 7th and washington ave wanted $1084 which included a wheel alignment and a state inspection because I purchased the car from NJ tried to scare me in to not fixing the car and getting rid of the car and flipping it saying the car was old and parts were rusty and stating the labor prices were subject to change and i would not be charged the quoted price for the repairs. Then on top of that I would not be issued an emissions waiver if the check engine light was still on. All at the end I spent $700 on parts and $900 on labor but will have to go to another shop to get a wheel alignment and a pa state inspection. I could get inspected there but he sends it to another shop because he does not have the obd2 emissions tester or dyno to get inspected or an alignment rack for a wheel alignment. read more
