    Stale pricey Munchkin chocolate croissant
    Monica S.

Two days ago I stopped here. Ordered a cortado which was good. The staff person was not friendly at all. Another customer came in as I got my cortado and smallest croissant ever which was not fresh or flaky as a croissant should be. I then looked for sugar and a stirrer but there was no fixing station. All the fixings were behind the counter. I proceeded to ask in a nice good mannered way for sugar and a stirrer and the staff person seemed annoyed, handed me the sugar and a long used spoon that baristas sometimes use when pouring out milk and waited for me to hand it back. If I could rate this place I would say, rich coffee 5 stars, service 0 stars, croissant 1/4 star. This is a "to go" place, so no where to sit and enjoy that cup. The coffee station for customers- zero stars as it's non-existent. All this for over $8 !! Worst issue? The employee When a business is in the hospitality business, the business should present itself with just that and it doesn't take much to be nice, to be warm. I always am nice to everyone and I'm simply in the "humanity" business called living and loving.

I concur with all of these rave reviews. Excellent quality coffee and owner and staff are super friendly. Today I had an iced mocha latte, which is delicious and refreshing. I also got these cute and very tasty chocolate croissants.

It is totally hidden in the back of a parking lot by an old church and older white frame building. If I had not walked up to the window I may have assumed it was closed. Friendly server and good prices.

Still no seating inside. Maybe a couple of small metal tables outside. Don't know why they don't want customers to spend time inside more.

They do one thing only but they do it well. Great coffee. Nice store with cool art and minimalist vibe. One table. Parking in front.

I wanted to like this place but it was kind of pricy and there was no flavor nor attempt at a quality latte.

VEGAN DINNER and a good dinner for all…read more Party of 6, we came for dinner after a busy Saturday at the Sheep and Wool Festival. We had a reservation and were seated with no wait. It's a very comfortable space and not noisy, so we were able to talk. As a vegan, I rarely get a coherent meal at a restaurant. So this was a pleasant surprise. Two of our six ordered and enjoyed the vegan Autumn Bowl of lentils with root vegetables. We enjoyed the crispy artichokes. Well executed. The sauce was spicy and enjoyed. Our party enjoyed Willow Salmon, with fennel orange salad: delish!; Pan Seared Trout was enjoyed; The duck breast was enjoyed. We got a bottle of red wine and some cocktails. All good . I had a strawberry margarita . We all had a good meal and a good time. Considering that the restaurant was not full, we felt the service was Slow. All of the staff were very nice. Bathroom was clean. Parking lot under the facility is large and adequate. Especially nice in rain and cold. A note about the Autumn Bowl: It's priced at $34 (all inexpensive components: lentils, carrots, squash), while the Mirbeau Burger (8 Oz CAB expensive Beef with bun, cheese, onions, portobello mushrooms, bordelaise, field greens, and fries) is priced at only $28! Also, the vegan Gelato is $3 more expensive than the regular Gelato. Why? The pricing doesn't make sense, and I think it should be re-evaluated. I'm grateful & appreciative for the vegan options. It's not easy to find a coherent vegan meal in Rhinebeck and this is one of the best, in a very comfortable space. Helpful?

Had Christmas dinner for third year and it continues to be an outstanding dining experience…read more Service and ambience is not surprising. The quality of the food is amazing on a holiday with high volume. Our party of six was happy from foie gras and oyster appetizers to scallop, duck breast and steak entrees. The masterful pastry chef outdid herself with miniature Christmas trees filled with chocolate cake and mousse covered with green whipped cream "leaves". Christmas "wreath" similarly delicious and beautiful. Special cocktails were also praised by group.

The restaurant is housed in a beautifully renovated industrial-style merchant building right on the Kingston waterfront, and if you can grab outdoor seating, it's a great place to relax while watching the boats come and go. It's also kid-friendly, which made brunch with the family easy and enjoyable. Instead of ordering entrees, we decided to work our way through the appetizer menu. The standouts were the lobster and trout dip (our favorite of the meal), the root beer based wings, and the fresh oysters. Everything else was fine--good quality, but nothing that completely blew us away. One thing that really caught our attention was the Sunday all-you-can-eat-and-drink brunch. It had a lively crowd, an outdoor DJ, and looked like people were having a fantastic time. However, we were never offered and found it too late to inquire after ordering from the menu already. Overall, The Cornell is worth checking out for the waterfront location, relaxed atmosphere, and fun brunch scene. While the food didn't quite match the setting, it was still a very enjoyable family outing, and the few standout dishes make it worth a return visit.

But the truly beyond-horrible service made this an absolutely dreadful experience. The first thing the waitress did was take our drink orders. The person before me orders a Coke, and she says they have Pepsi products. So he orders a Pepsi. I order a Mountain Dew (a Pepsi product), and she says she doesn't know if they have it. How do you not know if they have it? But, to keep things moving and easier, I just get a Pepsi. The rest of the table orders their drinks and waits. And waits, and waits. 45 minutes later people had eaten their food, and everyone at the table is still waiting for their drinks. Two different waitresses said 3 different times the waitress says, "it's coming". I finally got fed up and left before our time was completely done because I was on the verge of saying something that probably would've gotten me arrested. Talking to people outside after, apparently, the drinks did finally come after getting a 3rd waitress and an additional 15 minutes. And they were watered down.
