I believed that my thermostat was not working and had them come out to service and check out the issue. After my AC unit was checked and a new capacitor put in it was realized that it was in fact the wrong thermostat for my unit. The capacitor was removed. I was told to go to home depot to buy the correct unit and install It myself. This cost $220. I did purchase another thermostat for $30.00 but have to figure out how to install it And still no air conditioning. read more

This review is based on NOT actually getting any service....however if service is like their customer service it's great!. I wanted to get someone to look at my refrigerator to see if it made sense to get it repaired. I asked for someone to contact me through their YELP site. I chose them because they had good ratings. I usually yelp food establishments as opposed to services. Anyway....Edward emailed me back that same day and asked me some questions about my appliance. Then he had me try some things and let him know if it helped....after no luck there he let me know how much the repair would be. ALL of this was done through EMAIL which is super convenient. He could've easily pushed me to get it fixed by them but instead he gave me the facts and let me make an informed choice. Had a refrigerator that would not hold the temps, lucky we have another fridge in the garage to store food, called All Things Air & Ice office to set up appointment. Although the appointment was a few days out it goes to show how popular they are. Was kept in up to date of the appointment, called several times during the day from Eddie to let us know ETA. Eddie was easy to get a hold of, and I was able to drop off my Vinotemp wine fridge the next day for him to look at. I heard back from him later that day, and he let me know that the problem with the fridge was with the circuit board. Replacing that part would end up costing me upwards of $200, and the unit itself is only around $300. He waived the diagnostic fee since he wasn't able to help me, which was a nice gesture that I really appreciated. I won't buy another Vinotemp unit because the quality was terrible, but I will absolutely use Eddie for any issues going forward! read more

10/21/2016 I'm taking a star off based on a recent experience. I sent an online service inquiry, and also called (and spoke to someone) twice, and never heard back from them about getting service scheduled. Given the really good customer service we received the first time, this was a surprise. = = = = = = = = = 02/04/2016 Eddie came out same day that we had an issue with our furnace/thermostat. He figured out what was wrong, got a part, and got the heat going again for us very quickly. All Things Air & Ice came out to repair our freezer. The serviceman determined what the problem was and ordered parts. During the service call the repairman did something to the settings and the refrigerator stopped working. We didn't realize this until after the repairman left. We called repeatedly requesting assistance - either over the phone or ideally return service. Nothing happened after days and days of calling. We were told they could not help us over the phone and a repairman would not be able to come out for days. It's been several weeks and we still do not have a working refrigerator or freezer and never a single follow-up call. Highly unprofessional service and we would not recommend. read more

**I will update this once the issue is completely resolved but I wanted to share my experience thus far** I bought a house two weeks ago - it was a flip and the HVAC system was existing in the house so I have no history on it and it is about 20 years old. It all checked out upon inspection (which was on a day that was about 60 degrees) but I found out once I tried to run the AC on an actual warm day that it was not cooperating. I had someone out to look at it and he quickly informed me I would need a new unit and didn't do much of anything to try to even get it running again. After fiddling with it myself for a few days (a friend of mine is in commercial HVAC and he consulted me over the phone how to clean the outside coils, etc. which helped some but not enough), I decided to call these guys after seeing the reviews on Yelp. I got Eddie directly and he took the time to find out what my issue was and what the source might be. He scheduled a technician, Jon, to come out the next day (Saturday). Jon called me that morning to see if he could come earlier than scheduled but unfortunately, I was unable to accommodate that. I called him back when I was headed home and he said he would be out soon. He arrived with the goal of actually FIXING my unit rather than trying to sell me a new one. I let him know that I did anticipate having issues with the unit because it was so old and I do understand I will have to replace it in the near future but I had hoped to get at least a year out of it so I didn't have to put up the money so soon. He seemed very knowledgeable and was in detective mode. We came to the conclusion the main issue was dirty inside coils - he kept me informed as he was working. He spent about 2 hours total including cleaning the inside coils and drain, checking the inside and outside temperatures, readings, units, etc. He wound up adding some refrigerant since some of the readings were off to see if that helped. By the time he left, things were working pretty well. He said everything sounded and looked ok with the unit and hopefully I would get through at least this summer with it. He informed me that if I had any problems to contact them and they would try to be back out as soon as possible to see what was going on. Unfortunately, the next day (Sunday) the unit quit again but this time, presumably from a bad fan motor and hopefully unrelated to the previous issues. I contacted Jon and he said he would try to get out Monday (today). I spoke with Eddie this morning due to my concern of continuing to put money in to repairing the unit and winding up having to replace it soon anyway. He was very empathetic and seemed genuinely concerned about my desire to NOT replace this unit at this time. He said hopefully it will be an easy fix and we can go from there. He said he would get some quotes for me when they came out to evaluate the unit this time just in case it didn't make any sense to keep putting money in it. Either way, I have been impressed with these guys so far and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. To be continued . . . read more

Eddie is THE best!!! When Eddie installed my heat pump 4 years ago, he was super professional and gave me the best price on the unit and install. This morning I woke up freezing, only to discover that my thermostat was off, and the heat pump not working. The temperature in my house was nearing 50 degrees on the coldest day so far of the season...and the day after Thanksgiving!! Yikes! Who's open on a holiday weekend? I called BGE peak rewards thinking it was a thermostat issue. After a two hour wait for a call back, the BGE tech called and had me connect the red and green copper wires within the thermostat using a paper clip, and we dx it as not being a thermostat issue. I called Eddie next (thankfully they now have an emergency number!), so Eddie was finding a tech to come over today! ... in the meantime, Eddie walked me through a series of dx tests. We figured out that the water safety valve tripped, so once I reset that, the thermostat kicked on, and my heat pump is now working to slowly bring the heat in the house back up to a comfortable temperature! Like I said, Eddie is the best, and won't leave you hanging after a sale. I have so much respect for him and the business that he manages!! Thank you so much for your service! This company is truly an AWESOME company. I called them with a question about my nine year old fridge. The gentleman from the company called me right back! It's rare to get great service like that. The rep answered ALL of my questions and put my mind at ease about my fridge and the weird noises it had been making. If they have to come out, their rates are MORE than fair. Plus it doesn't seem like they would be trying to rip people off as some other companies do, especially the bigger ones. I'm a firm believer in small business and this company fits the bill. Before anyone came out, I spoke to Eddie over the phone and he was able to diagnose our issue. He talked me through it and it was transparent that he was quite knowledgeable. He gave me an off-the-cuff quote and didn't pressure me at all. A few hours later, Eddie and Chris stopped by. We have a rarer model refrigerator that can be a pain to repair, so Chris and Eddie repaired it together and didn't charge for the extra man hours. They were able to repair it quickly without any new parts and explained step-by-step what they were doing. Eddie and Chris managed to finish quickly and under budget. They were transparent with their pricing and were obviously trying to save us from buying unneeded parts. When my fridge started to leak I tried to investigate what was causing the problem. After unable to resolve the issue myself I contacted the store where I purchased it in 2003. Hapers refereed me to Ed at All Things Air and Ice. My first contact was his office where I described my problem. In less than an hour I received a call back and talked to Ed. I noticed that my condensate drip pan was filling up and I could see the fan blowing across the pan from time to time. After discussing the issue with Ed and telling him that the pan was filling up every 15 to 30 minutes he suggested that I turn the water off to the fridge as it might be one of the water lines. Now I know that this did not fix the issue but Ed was very helpful as I am can fix a variety of items. I did appreciate that he was will to assist me without making a service call and charging me a flat fee to come out and investigate. The ladies answering the phone are only answering service people. They will very nicely take your info and pass it along but they cannot tell you anything else. I made repeated attempts to set up an appointment. Spoke with Ed directly who was too busy to return my call after promising me a call back AND telling me he didn't think they were scheduling anything due to high volume. Was instructed to send in an email about a possible appointment but never got any confirmation. Day before this phantom appointment, I called again to try and confirm before I took time off from work and was told the message would be passed along. Day of I decided to just go to work anyway and come home if they ever did call. I called once around 7:45 am to try and get a confirmation and had to leave a VM. By 9 a.m. still no call. Went on Angies List and found another repair service who will hopefully be able to come out today or tomorrow. another case of "i hope they call me back".
