Explanation of the knafeh
Stephanie T.

I got the chance to try Finjān Coffee at a mobile booth they ran for an Eid event I attended. It was so delicious that I will absolutely seek out their shops whenever I get the chance! I tried their karak tea (a milk tea with spices and sugar) and it was absolutely delicious! I also tried their baklava (pistachio and walnut) and both were great. Their knafeh, however, was standout. I had never tried kanafeh before but I got to have it fresh and warm and it was divine! (It's a dessert with shredded phyllo dough, a cheesy base, a floral syrup, and pistachios--it was really lovely!)

Orange Latte

This was my first time trying Finjan and I had a wonderful experience! I love an orange latte so when I saw it on the menu I knew I'd have to order. It might be one of the best orange lattes I've had to date. It wasn't overly sweet, but the orange flavor comes through so well without overpowering the coffee. I would highly recommend if you're looking to try something on the fruitier side. The drinks did take a while to be prepared, so it might not be the best spot if you're in a rush, but they truly seemed to be crafted with intention. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating which was nice as well and if you order to enjoy at the cafe, their glassware is very cute![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came back to this coffee shop to try more of their drinks and food offerings! The honey cinnamon latte was refreshing and flavorful, especially if you like your drinks on the sweeter side. I also tried the crunchy knafeh, which was a great contrast of textures, with a salty sweet cheese filling. It was also quite big, easily shareable with 2-3 people. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was great and there was plenty of seating on a weekend morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped by mainly for their Knafeh Khishneh (crunchy) and it was absolutely amazing. Perfectly crispy on the outside, warm and soft inside, with just the right amount of sweetness - exactly how good kunafa is supposed to be. Fresh, rich, and super satisfying. They also have a pretty wide beverage menu and a lot of other food options, so I'm sure there's more worth trying, but the kunafa alone is reason enough to come here. Definitely recommend going if you're in the area.

I literally have nothing bad to say about this place, it will forever be my favorite coffee spot of all time! It deserves more than five stars! This is the place I take everyone, especially out-of-town friends, because it's truly just that spot. You honestly can't order a bad drink on the menu and trust me, I've basically worked my way through all of them. Their seasonal drinks are always creative, fun, and actually worth trying. This is the kind of cafe where you venture out of your comfort zone and never regret it. I love the entire menu, but my forever favorite is the orange mocha. I'm telling you - orange coffee lovers, this is where you need to be. The balance of citrus and rich mocha is unreal. 10000/10 And my number one thing? The staff. Beyond friendly. Beyond welcoming. They make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time walking in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of indoor seating to hang out, plus some outdoor tables if you want fresh air.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music is always on point, so the atmosphere is immaculate every single time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And you HAVE to try the Turkish coffee - it's not just a drink, it's a whole experience.

Iced Basbousa Latte - seasonal drink (orange blossom and toasted coconut)

Best iced latte in San Diego. Nothing can top it. The Basbousa is a seasonal drink (orange blossom and toasted coconut). I wish it was a staple on their menu. The vanilla bean is also very good. Their mission valley location and sister restaurant Tahini is also delish.

knafeh and Knafeh Cold Foam Cold Brew *SEASONAL SPECIAL*

knafeh was interesting! I like sweet cheese and crunch so this was like a dream come true. i also got the knafeh cream cold brew. the cold brew was very acidic but that sourness disappeared when mixed well with the salted knafeh cream! service was alright. it didnt really feel friendly to me... [[HIGHLIGHT]]i most likely wouldnt want to go back because of how awkward/cold the environment seemed. made me feel like i didnt belong there[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] :/

Love this place I wish there was one in Northern California. I've tried to contact the owners to open a business here. This is a little bit farther out from the city, but it is worth to drive. All the drinks are very unique and good and the Knafeh was very well done We ordered the Yemeni tea which honestly wasn't the best (you should order from a Yemeni place for a perfect flavor) but otherwise I love this place and we always come here after eating at the restaurant next-door

Saw Finjan Matcha on my FYP and decided to give it a try, my first time ordering the knafeh cold foam matcha and it was made pretty standard. The second time I ordered was the best as the knafeh cold foam went well with the paru matcha and the color was incredible, with the pistachios on top being noticeable throughout the drink. I was hoping the third time around it would've been the same but was completely thrown off when I had a very milky matcha :( felt like there was no matcha in the drink and it just kinda tasted like I was drinking straight oatmilk for $8. The difference between my first, second, and third time getting the matcha is like a night & day difference and safe to say I won't be visiting again for the inconsistency. :(

First time here today and it's 5/5!!! First of all so thankful there's a lot of parking so that was great! The worker in the front she was so nice and asked if it was my first time so she helped me with some recommendations and even explained the menu. The drinks were so good. Not to sweet and you can actually taste the coffee. Would definitely be back so I can try more items!

Great service, ample parking, plenty of seating, and some of the best coffee I've tasted! Wish there was one in the IE!

I finally made it to Finjan Coffee!! According to their website, Finjan is known for Specialty Coffee, Espresso, Cold Brew, Turkish Coffee, House Made Baklawa, and Knafeh Made to Order. Finjan Coffee is located in Kearny Mesa area of San Diego. I ordered: - Turkish Coffee with Nutella - Avocado Toast (Avocado, Arugula, Sliced Radish, Grape Tomatoes, Sea Salt, Aleppo Red Pepper Flakes, Balsamic Glaze, Lemon Slice Delicious!! This was my first time having Turkish Coffee, so I have nothing else to compare it to but it definitely made my day!! ENJOY!!

Walnut Baklawa Latte *SEASONAL SPECIAL*
Catalina G.

The coffee here is soo good and the walnut baklava is to die for HOWEVER this is genuinely the slowest coffee shop I have ever been to. I've been here twice now hoping the first time was a fluke and unfortunately it took 20+ minutes both times. The first time there was only 2 people before me. If they sped up the timing of the drinks I would've easily given it 5 stars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is nice and peaceful, typical coffee shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is such a cool spot…read more I love a good coffee shop, even more so when they have more than just coffee. Easy does it has simple but delicious beverage options including coffee, matcha, hojicha, pastries and open face bagels. All delicious. But in addition to that, they also sell plenty of packaged goods like a copious amount of high quality take home coffee beans from some really amazing roasters, matcha and hojicha powder, snacks (like shiso sour cream popcorn), spreads, and tin fish. The shop itself is huge with plenty of seating and tables, making this a great coffee date spot or remote work location. Their branding is really cute and unique which adds to the overall vibe. We even experienced a cool pop up on the weekend when we first went! The service is also really great. Everyone is kind and helpful and the wait it never too long.

OVERVIEW Come for the equally balanced, delicious coffee AND matcha drinks; the spacious work setting; the side entertainment (like a free bookshelf + camp chairs outside), and incredible ownership. Be prepared for hard parking during peak hours (lunchtime) and possible lack of seats (especially during schooltime). DRINKS It is RARE to find a shop whose matcha is on par with its coffee; normally, one is better than the other. Easy Does It, or EDI as we affectionately call it, is pro at BOTH. With coffee served from Provecho, matcha from Nami and hojicha from Paru??? You just hit a trifecta of GOOD good. Our Typical Order: 1) Iced Earl Grey Latte - omg, I LOVE the earthiness that the earl grey syrup brings to the matcha. Matcha, to me, is either too grassy or too sweet; the earl grey syrup makes it a perfectly earthy balance. 2) Honey Cinnamon Latte - how good could a standard coffee shop latte be, you ask? They have the HCL at almost every shop, and it's not usually standout. EDI, again, blew expectations wide open. Their HCL is balanced: sweet without being saccharine; and you can actually taste the cinnamon. 3) Hojicha Latte, Hot - omg, there was a time when I ordered almost one of these A DAY. Again, another sleeper - if you like the taste of coffee but can't take the caffeine (for a late night drink, perhaps), a hojicha is a good choice. It has that grounded taste that coffee gives, and the hot version of it is like a HUG for your mouth and stomach. They also have cool inventive flavors like the Matcha Cloud, the Coconut Cream Cloud (which is a coffee cloud on top of coconut water, I hear it's refreshing), so you'll never get tired of the drinks they have here. I also want to mention that they do serve wine and beer, too... so there's something for everyone! FOOD Spend any time in a coffee shop and know... you're gonna get hungry! Thankfully, EDI has open-faced bagel sandwiches AND pastries here, all of which look mighty tasty; all of which I cannot partake in, since I am gluten free. But ohhh, gluten warriors unite! Thanks to the partnership that is Jacob of Made for Mei Mei Mochi (aka the protein mochi) and Easy Does It, you'll have your PICK of 5 different flavors of homemade, chewy, ooey, DELICIOUS MOCHI -- SANS added sugars and preservatives you normally find in the store. I'm telling you, I don't normally like mochi (it tends to be so sweet) but I love the texture. And Made for Mei Mei hits it all! Flavors include: 1) chocolate hazelnut -- which tastes like Ferrer Rocher, yum 2) ube 3) green tea / red bean 4) black sesame 5) pb&j (yes, he's stocked peanut butter & jelly, a fan-demanded flavor) My favorites are #1 and #4; sometimes I go for #2 and #5 to mix it up. Either way, I spend WAY too much on these tiny li'l treats I might as well become an early investor. AMBIENCE This place is perfect for computer work as light doesn't directly fill the whole space. I like a li'l shade when I'm staring at a bright computer screen. There are two rooms: front and back; the back is a li'l darker and more chill vibes than the front. I also appreciate that they have a free bookshelf (just replenish it with your own!), plus a few magazines scattered around (for decoration, but I still browse). I miss when coffee shops had analog media, especially for when we don't want to be glued to our screens. EXTRA CREDIT Easy Does It also offers their shop as space for community events. From mahjong with No Ambition Tile Club to wine and jazz nights IN SUM THANK YOU Easy Does It ~ Grace, Nancy, the sister I haven't met, Eugenia, and the entire team ~ for creating a lovely third space where I can work, enjoy my snacks / drinks, meet friends and co-work, and have a great conversation. You make it so easy to feel welcomed, and I'll forever be grateful for you :)

Fruit teas, milk teas, matcha, plus a few small bites. I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with boba at less sweet. Honestly, it was a letdown. I could barely taste any jasmine. It mostly tasted like watered-down milk. The boba didn't help either. It was super mushy, which usually tells me it had been sitting for a while. If I'm paying extra for a topping, I expect it to be fresh. That's something I think every boba shop should get right. I wouldn't order the milk tea or boba again. I am still interested in coming back for one of their matcha drinks because the shop itself left a good impression. Hopefully the drinks are a little stronger next time.

I asked and the guy handing out order gave me a "matter of fact" comment, "Yeah your order has been ready." Yeah well how in the world would I have known that if you didn't pin in my order as completed? I told him up front and pointed at the board, "I didn't know since the number is still under In Progress." He just turns to look at the board and goes "Oh." I took my drink and left. I think what upsets me over the attitude was that he saw me standing there for an absurd amount of time, walked past me once for something, and didn't bother asking like "Hey you've been standing here for a while, can I check your order for you?" It doesn't take a lot of effort to initiate good customer service, but blatant lack of customer service and the additional attitude is what leads to feedback reviews as such. If you're into those buttery, nutty flavors, you might enjoy it more than we did, but I don't think I'd order it again. The Jasmine Milk Tea is absolutely incredible. The tea actually tastes like jasmine instead of just tasting sweet. It's floral, refreshing, and perfectly balanced without feeling overpowering.
