The service was pretty quick. We tried the Signature Combo ($8.50) which had a pandan waffle, Nutella, vanilla ice cream, Pocky, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle. It sounded good, but overall it ended up being a bit too sweet for our taste. After a few bites, everything kind of blended together and didn't really stand out flavor-wise. For the price, it felt a little underwhelming. It's not bad, just not something I'd go out of my way to get again. Maybe their drinks are better since they had a more extensive drink menu. The space itself is spacious, and they even have gacha machines. The vibe definitely leans toward a younger crowd, so I can see it becoming a popular hangout spot. Overall, an okay experience, but if I return I'd probably try something different.

The owners of the former Ding Tea in this Clairemont suite have separated themselves from the large chain brand and gone independent with the launch of Camie Tea. The most noticeable change to the interior was the addition of a foosball table not far in front of the service counter. Maybe this amenity was present before, but it had been a while since I visited this location. Between the multiple tables and sofa, the seating capacity was around 40. Two menu screens hung near the counter. One of them showed the pandan waffles, either building your own or as a combo. The other one featured the drinks that were divided into six categories. The most popular selections were shown in the bottom right corner. Neither the prices nor the descriptions were listed which I thought were oversights. Without the latter, it was hard to choose because the contents were not available, just a name. This was especially true for the Specialty category of which there were 13 varieties. I ended up picking the Mango Sunrise that turned out to be more of a slushie than a fruity boba tea. The online ordering page stated the ingredients were pomelo, coconut jelly, mango puree, and mango slush. If this information was provided on a webpage, then why not also include it on the flat screens? The mixture was not particularly sweet which was fine. I didn't request any boba pearls because of the coconut jelly. I think with some improvements I can upgrade my rating of Camie Tea to a level higher than three stars.

Camie is a newer shop in the balboa plaza, seems to be related or similar to Ding Tea. They have a small shop with a few seats and some Japanese claw machines, but mainly geared toward take out. The tea/boba was decent, nothing spectacular but not bad either. One issue was the drink was absolutely loaded with ice, and the ice they use is a smaller size so it gets sucked up in the straw. Would advise on less ice if you end up going. Service was friendly, prices were average, would not go out of the way to visit but if in the area it's a solid choice!

My wife and I stopped by to check this place out. Nice & bright inside. Simple Menu list, tried the Deluxe Fruit Golden Boba, it's a nice drink, fruity and not overly sweet. They also have these cute toppings and my wife added those . Friendly Staff, clean inside, and lots of Parking spaces .

Formerly a Ding Tea, this boba shop has rebranded and added its own recipes to the menu. Braved the 1.5 hour line for free drinks on opening day to check out the hype, and we were rewarded with an excellent Matcha Latte with Boba and Matcha Strawberry with Mochi. Thankfully the drinks came out fairly quickly after ordering. The interior space is pretty roomy. Despite the crowd on this particularly busy day, there was still plenty of seating available as most people took their cups to go.

Former Ding Tea that's been rebranded. The menu seem to have some of the same classics and favorites. And they even kept the bubble waffles. I only go here for the sour sop tea, when I'm craving one, and I was very happy to see that they kept that on their menu. The interior looks like it had a spring cleaning with a fresh coat of paint, game tables, furniture, and layout. Service was fast, came in after lunch, so was not busy at all.

This is a Rebranding of a Ding Tea franchisee. We went on Saturday when they had the BOGO and there was a line to the door around opening. The first few dozen or so orders were gifted a milk tea plushie. Servers were friendly and did well considering how busy they were. The decor was minimal with a few crane machines and a giant connect four. There are a few tables seating areas to hang out. Great grand opening. Good flavored milk tea and slushie drinks. Would recommend.

I really wanted to like this place, and it might just come down to ordering choices, but this visit didn't quite hit for me. I tried the Matcha Einspaner, and while it was thick, it leaned more like a dessert drink (ice cream-like) so I couldn't really taste much of the matcha itself. My hubby ordered the Mango Sunrise, which had a nice fruity base but was a bit too sweet for our preferences. For context, we used to come here often back when it was Ding Tea, and it had more of a laid-back, college hangout vibe. The space has since changed quite a bit .... there's now a row of crane games along one wall, which gives it a different energy than before. Service was fine, and the drinks came out quickly. Overall, it may still be a good spot depending on what you order and the kind of vibe you're looking for, but for us it didn't quite match what we were hoping for this time around.

Ding Tea is now Camie Tea! The owners dropped the Ding tea franchise and have gone independent. Certainly not an easy feat as now they have to come up with their own recipes. I attended their soft opening today and all drinks were free, let's see if it was any good. The interior is basically the same spacious one as before with ample seating and the same furniture and games but different decor on the walls. The menu has changed - some items are the same and many seem new. Of note is a huge new selection of matcha drinks (9 in all), my personal favorite! The bubble waffles are also gone. I tried a matcha latte of course. It was good! Rich, dark green color, strong earthy Matcha flavor, and a nice bitterness to contrast the sweetness of the drink and the Boba that I added. The Boba was also cooked perfectly. We also tried a strawberry Matcha with mochi and the mochi was delicious. It tasted fresh and homemade and had a consistency that was more dense than a jelly. Camie Tea looks like a winner!

Meh, the drinks tasted like the last shop. The decor and set up looked similar to the last shop as well. It was okay at best. Nice workers though. Took about 10 minutes to get our drinks after ordering. Matcha drinks were okay. I'd give matcha Oreo tornado a 3/5 and matcha einspanner 3.5/5.

Took advantage of the BOGO free drinks and the free boba plushies!

Came the next day for their BOGO free drinks and also got a free plushie until they ran out.

Rebranded Ding Tea! They have plenty of large and small table seating, some couch seating, and some claw games and foosball scattered throughout the store. They were giving away free drinks on their soft opening day! Their menu is extensive but definitely warrants a bit more explanation on their drinks that aren't named in a self explanatory manner. The baristas can answer any questions though about the drinks. They have a good variety of toppings, and their panacotta topping that's pictured in the various molds is the cutest thing! The service was pretty fast after you actually ordered. I got a matcha strawberry, and I could see that they were individually whisking matcha back there instead of from a big batch. Would come back again when I'm in the area!

Many of the drinks are themed around computer programming with names like "C++" and "Debugger". The whimsical nature of the naming is rather appealing and cute. The atmosphere here is casual and relaxed which is perfect for those needing a chill place to study or kick back. Service was quick and efficient. The staff members also were friendly and positive in mood. I ordered their batch brew coffee which was illustrated as using Guatemala beans that provided "chocolate, nutty, caramel, and citrusy" notes. I didn't quite taste the first three aforementioned notes, but the citrusy, sour note was there along with bitter notes. I've been here before and I much prefer their lattes such as the Troubleshooter and Debugger. Those are exceptionally enjoyable drinks to me. I would rate the batch brew a 3/5 but I'd rate the two aforementioned lattes around a 4.5/5. Overall, it's best to enjoy the specialty drinks here and inundate yourself with sweet caffeine to focus on studying for your upcoming test or completing your project that's about to be due.

Every time I visit, I make sure to get one fresh out of the oven. It's incredibly creamy, melts in your mouth, and has the perfect level of sweetness without being overly sweet. My second favorite is the Chocolate Boba Egg Tart. The chocolate and boba complement the egg tart really well. The crunchy little boba balls aren't too sticky, and the sweetness is nicely balanced. The Espresso Egg Tart comes in third. It has a smooth, mellow coffee flavor that's not overpowering and pairs well with the creamy custard. As for the Dubai Chocolate Egg Tart, it's very crunchy and not overly sweet. However, the chocolate layers were so chunky that I couldn't really taste much of the egg tart itself.
