The heater finally died... in the middle of winter... BRRR! After trying to contact our regular service technician from another company only to be met with silence, my husband decided to call Albritten! DEFINITELY WORTH IT. When the technician came out he was super informative and helpful. We found out the motor on our 13 year old unit finally died. He had to order the part and we waited a week for it to arrive. Once it came, the same technician came out and once he was done gave us a full report on our unit. I had an issue with my shower drain. I tried to solve the issue myself by using Drano and those type products, to no avail. I called Allbritten and they were able to get me in relatively quickly. The office staff was pleasant professional, knowledgeable and responsive. Via text message they let me know that status of my service time. This allowed me to go about my day and not be stuck at home waiting. I received a text my technician Ramon was going to be at my home in approximately 20 minutes. The timing was perfect. Ramon was friendly and listened to problem and what I had done to resolve it. He also showed up with shoe covers on... that's right, kept my floors clean. He resolved the drain issues double checked his work, explained the problem and even had suggestions on how to avoid an issue in the future. Professional and knowledgeable all the way. When you need service and can request a technician, ask for Lance. We have had other a/c companies out to repair a serious issues with our central air and received different responses using our home warranty, not none resolved. Contracted another A/C company to install a smart thermostat. After spending about 3 hours of cutting wires and making my A/C system totally inoperative, they gave up!! If I could give no stars i would they charged us so much, they really didn't know what they were doing and cut holes in my cabinets that are now going to cost me more money to fix when they didn't need to cut a hole there , I called rods plumbing they came out and fixed it in one hour and charged us less then half the price Allbritten was going to charge us , and didn't need to tear up my floors I'm so so thankful for rod and Steve wonderful , Allbritten had 4 guys and STILL couldn't figure it out so disappointed read more

We have a leak from our upstairs master bathroom. Allbritten gave a us a quote to repair all the plumbing. I went with Allbritten because they are reputable company and appear to focus on service. They told us the job would require 2 plumbers and 2 hours to complete. They only sent one plumber. During the course of the repair he damaged an expensive faucet causing a more intense leak. He spent 6 hours looking for parts to do the repair but could not find them. My wife and kids were stranded without access to water in our home for 8 hours while I was at work. The next day, Allbritten called to tell my wife that she needed to find a replacement faucet or parts and then to reconnect with Allbritten so they could give us a bid on the repair that would be needed. I had to call and speak to the service manager to get Allbritten to acknowledge that they damaged the faucet and needed to find the parts, repair the damage they caused, and finish the job we had already paid for. It was 2 weeks before Allbritten was able to come up with a solution. When they left the house our faucet was left leaning up against the tub unsecured and our hot and cold water lines were crossed. When my wife contacted the service manager he tried to tell her that the reason the faucet was not secured was because of wear and tear. Fortunately, my wife had taken photos so she was able to demonstrate that Allbritten had larger holes into our sub-floor that did not allow them to re-secure the faucet properly. After several more weeks and several 'cheap' fixes, we have an even bigger leak. Now they are trying to tell me that it is a leak that is coming from somewhere else and that it is 'out of their hands.' The ceiling in our kitchen has been cut open for over 2 months. My wife and kids have spent countless days babysitting Allbritten plumbers so they can finish the 2 hour job they started over 2 months ago. We are now left with few other options other than having to contact another company to start over from the beginning. read more

Our A/C unit stopped blowing cold air but the condensing fan motor was still working. Had Allbritten come out to diagnose the unit. Was told that the capacitor was bad and would cost $400 to replace. Told the tech put the unit back the way it was because I would replace it myself. The same replacement capacitor can be bought online for $30, total price gouging! Found out after replacing the capacitor the tech wired the unit back incorrectly. Had to call them out again they sent out the original tech with an additional one who was the one that found the wiring issue. They charged me a second call out fee even though they wired it back incorrectly. Do not recommend using them they do not stand behind there work and price gouging at it's best. read more

If I had to put no stars, I would. This company doesn't deserve me giving them even one star. Respect their technicians boundaries is what was said to me by a manager of Allbrightten Two technicians came to my door in masks. I meet them in a mask. I inform the technicians that I took my 2nd Vaccine on Monday and not feeling well. I have a two story house. I tell them where the hose bib is and request to clean/wash my coils with detergent. I go inside and they go to their truck and proceed to get their ladders and gauges out. I hear them put one ladder on the first story and walk around. A few minutes later, next thing I know I see one of guys go into the drivers side truck and see the other guy holding the ladder and walks to the truck. I get a phone call. It's the technician saying they would have to reschedule because "I wasn't feeling well". I ask him to explain what that means. He says "because the air would be recycling and because you said you're sick we would need to reschedule" I said "I am not sick, I'm having side effects from taking the 2nd vaccine shot. I DO NOT have COVID-19". So I called Allbrightten waited 6:42 for a young lady tell me she had respect their technicians boundaries because of these heightened times. I say I get it. I understand if I have COVID-19 but I don't! I got my 2nd vaccine shot and feeling the side effects of the 2nd shot. And that's different from having COVID-19. Bottom line this company did not do the job. I believe this is a good case were education needs to happen on the difference between from actually having COVID-19 and receiving the vaccine and its side affects. Lastly, I believe these two technicians saw how many times they'll need to go up and down the ladder, perform the service on my AC and get whatever stuff they may need. One aside to the other this guy has Covid-19 and I don't feel comfortable doing this job because the air is going to recycling and we may get COVID-19. Mind you the guys already had ladders out got on the first level, looked at the second level, surveyed what needed to get done and decided they didn't want to do the JOB! read more

We had allbritten out because our heater went out back in march as part of the repair the technician apparently signed us up for their membership. When it came time for their annual service the technician that showed up would only service one of our units because that's all the initial technician signed us up for and when I tried to cancel the service because they wouldn't service my second unit without an additional fee they now demand I pay their annual $180 fee. The technician never told us about a monthly membership let alone a 1year agreement. Do not trust this company read more

Our AC stopped working, first we called "Lee's Air" but nobody picked up and I left a message for them to call me back. Over 2 hours later they never called me back. So we decided to call Allbritten. They answered right away and they were very polite. They answered all my questions and booked me for an appointment the next day per my request. I really appreciate that they will keep you updated via text when they will arrive so you can go about your day normally instead of having to sit around waiting and they will also call you 20-30 minutes prior to their arrival. The very next day our AC all of a sudden decided to work again. I called them to cancel and they were very polite and were not at all upset about the cancellation. I will definitely call them if I ever have any issues with my HVAC. I love their communication. read more

At the beginning of the summer hot season, I experienced an A/C break down. Unfortunately, after doing some checking on my unit I found that the compressor for it had failed and no longer worked. So I decided to reach out to Allbritten to check my unit and verify what I was finding and provide with me with a quote for the cost of repairing the unit and maybe options for replacing the whole unit altogether. After checking out my situation I was forced to go with the option of replacement of the compressor. Shame on Me!! Let me tell you a little story..... About a month ago, it was 110 degrees outside and our air conditioner went out. We called Allbritten, they came out that day and bandaged it up with a new capacitor. The people were very nice, but it was time we needed a new unit. The salesman came out; he was also very nice and quoted us a price for a new unit. Well, we thought they would be Competitively priced with all the other companies and I wouldn't have to call around for different quotes. That is where I made my BIG MISTAKE, my fault entirely. Well, we bought the unit and after talking to family and friends and telling them what we paid, their reaction was...YOU PAID WHAT!! That's when I called around and priced out the EXACT same unit, apples to apples, and they were not just a little bit less, but 4-5 THOUSANDS DOLLARS less than ALLBRITTEN!! I'm only posting this because I don't anyone to make the same mistake I did. MORAL of the STORY... in less you have money to just through away, check with OTHER companies FIRST!! read more

I had one of two roof HVAC units go out and was in the market for a new unit. My system was very old (1970s....). After interviewing a handful of companies, Allbritten was - without a doubt - the most comprehensive, thorough, and professional company I encountered. When we pulled the trigger and decided to hire Allbritten, the process was seamless. John Drollette (sales) did an excellent job of explaining everything in depth and followed up throughout the process. This was a very large job (removal of old units and ducting, addition of a new 5-ton, whole-house sealing, all new duct work and insulation, etc.) that required multiple work crews over a 5-day period. The leads, both Bryan Diaz and Ronnie Levan, did an outstanding job throughout the process. Their crews were very respectful, tidy, and professional. I was told that of their company mottos is "leave it cleaner than when you found it." Truth! Allbritten is the difference between a shoddy company who wants to make a quick sell, with minimal work on their part, and a company who wants to ensure your system design will function properly, with maximum efficiency, and keep you happy for 30+ years. $360 for a diagnostic and a capacitor. Tech was there for less than an hour. That capacitor is available RETAIL for ~$65 at Home Depot. $60 for the diagnostic. Labor was the rest...I called to check. that's the flat rate for that part....I was at work my wife took the call. They are very respectful but we got fleeced over $200/hr in labor. Do surgeons make that? Edit: In response to Andrea. Appreciate your response. I used to be a sales engineer for commercial HVAC with Sigler Brea. The mark up coming from the distributor is already huge and I know the mark-up by contractors is just as gnarly. No doubt you guys were fast, reliable, and I know the warranty is pass through on the product so you guys don't pay for that. I know your a legit company don't dispute that. If you're gonna charge that much for a part I'm sure you get for $20, at least say "2 hour min labor" or "expedited fee" at least I can swallow that but to tell me a flat rate for that part & labor no matter when you get there? You guys were fast, professional, and courteous. But we both know $300 for a residential run capacitor is like 150% markup. read more

These guys are great! We started a service contract on our rental unit last year. The A/C system was old and we were advised it may be on it's last leg. We contracted with them to do a full replacement; new unit and ductwork. They not only moved us up a week, but finished quick. Their daily communication with regards to the technicians arrival, who it is and asking for feedback just shows how much they want to do right by their clients. They are a first and last stop. Second time using allbritten, and second FAIL! They're always trying to upsale things you don't need. Allbritten charge you $89 for a diagnosis fee whether they figure out your issue or not. The tech came out, checked on the unit because my heat wasn't working. He couldn't figure it out. At first he blamed the breaker. And he got on the roof checked out the unit claims that it was the transformer And the motherboard. Told me they both need replacing. I okayed it he was already cutting wires. About $1000 in repairs Came back down, let's say 20 minutes later. Says to me, "need to double check your breaker again a different way". Checks it, and then tells me yeah your breaker is out you need to call electrician. Charges me the $89. And so I called an electrician, he comes out says Albritton is full of shit your breaker is great it's old but it works. He then goes onto my roof check the unit, check the breakers on the unit, on the roof. Said they work perfectly. And then presses the manual switch button on the unit, and my unit kicks back on! Boom, works again. I called a second HVAC guy to come out and maintenance and double check my unit because the electrician said there was arcing and burn marks on my unit. Second guy comes out checked my unit, maintenances it and he told me that by looking at it, what probably happened was when allBritton was up there they probably tripped the breaker, the unit probably died and he couldn't get it back up and running, came back down, check the breaker and blamed it on the breaker. So now I'm out $89 for Albritton, I'm out money for the electrician and Also had to pay the second HVAC guy his fee as well. All because Albritton tech Are inexperience. They miss diagnosed my unit, and I'm in the whole for trusting a company that obviously just using good at what they're doing. You could've just been honest and said "I have no idea what's wrong with it "and not charge me the fee I just left. I would've been OK. Will I ever see my $89 probably not. i agree with some of the other people regarding the price. We are old and sick. while they were very friendly, I am very upset because first they quoted us 6000$ for a new air conditioning system. I don't have that kind of money but I might be able to scrape together 3000 if I don't pay my mortgage. it's so hot we're dying, so I thought I could put down 3000$ and finance the rest. Then they suddenly remembered that there's a new regulation and the price jumped to 8800$. There's no way so they put us in for a loan. We were denied. I have never been turned down in my life. They said we had no credit history. I am 64 years old and have credit cards which I stopped using when I retired. I am really upset about this and feel abused and taken advantage of. Then a friend told me they are bad. I think it's elder abuse. I am leaving California. I can't afford to live here anymore. How do they think we bought this house with no credit? My wife and I suggested to our sister that she call Allbritten for a quote on fixing plumbing and air conditioning problems in a house she is considering purchasing. Was stated REPEATEDLY that we just wanted a quote on fixing the problems the home inspector had found. After about 4 hours of dealing with the various people who came out - they REFUSED to give us the quote! All they would quote us was how much to purchase an entirely new AC system! We paid $65 for a quote on fixing some problems, but they just wanted to sell my sister-in-law stuff! The people who actually came out seemed very knowledgeable at the time I met with them, but according to the office person on the phone, I guess they didn't know they were supposed to give us a quote? Despite the fact that that is what we hired them for? Despite my TELLING them that's what we wanted when they came to the house? Now I am questioning all the various things they have sold me during the time since we bought our AC from them. They keep telling us we need various parts to keep the AC running - now I wonder. I no longer trust them after this experience. I feel bad I sent my sis-in-law to them. When our yearly maintenance is up, we are ditching them for someone less greedy and shady. Michael came out to check out my heater when it was making a weird noise. He found the problem, and had to order the part we needed to fix it. Took a few days but he replaced it after it came in and the noise is gone. They suggested we replace the whole HVAC unit but we can't afford it. I've used Allbritten for years and they do good work, I've never had a problem with any part they've replaced or anything they've installed. That's why I've stuck with them over the years even though they tend to be a little more expensive than other companies that do the same work. read more

This review would be a zero if I could. They took advantage of my grandpa and mother. We called them out because the house was not cooling. The technician came out said the problem was that there was carosion on the unit so he said he fixed that and point out that we didn't have a fuse box for the ac so we went ahead and added that and paid the service fee. So after my house still didn't cool down today I called again they sent the same technician out and now today he said he noticed that the motor was broken. And that he didn't bother checking it yesterday so after spending 600 dollars yesterday on things that weren't actually necessary to get it working he told me today that I need to spend another 700 dollar to get a new motor. And I'm just in luck because he has the exact motor in his truck ready to be installed. At this point I know he knew yesterday my Motor was bad and just took more money knowing I would still call. K But he really recommends me to purchase a new ac through them and don't worry about the price that I should just finance the 20000 dollar unit. Called to get our ac unit service and service guy came out and did work but was not authorized to charge us and didn't get a call from him saying what we needed . They charged us 600.00 , I called the company and customer service said I sign for when I wasn't even home . Service manager called and said that he can refund all my money but take out all the refrigerated out or comp me back my 89.00 diagnostic fee but keep all 500 . We will never use this company again ! We had Allbritten out in December for a leaking hot water heater. They quoted us $6000 to replace it. Absolutely ridiculous. We ended up having it replace with someone else for under $2000. We have been customers of Allbritten for the last 10 years but definitely feel taken advantage of after that experience. We will be using someone else from now on. read more
