Our recent experience with Allbritten left us profoundly disappointed and frustrated. After a sudden breakdown of our 9-year-old A.O. Smith hot water heater, a device that Allbritten had installed themselves nearly a decade ago, we were faced with what seemed like exorbitant repair and replacement costs. The initial quote of $3115 to replace the gas control valve and pilot assembly was already a shock, and the subsequent suggestion to replace the entire hot water heater for $3759 felt excessive and inconvenient with a 5 to 7-day wait. Thankfully, we decided to seek a second opinion from Balanced Comfort, a decision that proved to be wise. Not only did they provide a no-cost inspection with no obligation, but their service supervisor, Brandon, offered us significantly more reasonable quotes. The repair cost of $1596 was half of what Allbritten had proposed, and the replacement, featuring the exact same Bradford White hot water heater, was quoted at $2553, a stark contrast to Allbritten's $3759 figure. Moreover, the prospect of a two-day turnaround for the replacement was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the extended wait suggested by Allbritten. This experience highlights the importance of seeking multiple opinions and quotations when faced with significant repairs or replacements. See you in autumn Chad, or one of the guys :) In 2012 Reliable Raters performed an energy audit on our home and confirmed what we knew... our 1950s house leaked energy worse than a sieve. Reliable referred us to ABC / Allbritten Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning to address the H/AC unit, windows, and insulation (or lack there of). Thank you Reliable Raters for that referral! Allbritten handled EVERYTHING!! ... They worked up three package options, handled all the financing, paperwork, and permits (no small thank you for that!), the contractors, inspections... EVERYTHING! including the old water damaged hall ceiling and walls. We had the H/AC unit and all windows replaced, and insulation installed, all for about the same cost as independant quotes we had received for just the windows. I do not know if that specific financing program is still available. But I do know that Allbrittan personnel will go to lengths to try to meet your needs. ALL of the personnel, administrative and service, have been wonderful - 100% pleasant, prompt, professional and thorough. And the proof is in the power bill ... down as much as 60% !!! Came home from work, walked in asked the wife why it was so hot inside(it's been triple digits lately), she says "i don't know the a.c.s on". So I panic knowing the a.c.s out. The following morning at 7:30a.m. I call another co. that has done service for me before and left them a detailed message. I waited until 8:15a.m.(most businesses should be open by then), had no call back. Couldn't wait, called a friend who recommended Allbritten. Called them, someone answered who set up an appointment for 4:00p.m.-8:00p.m., I know it's the busy season, I was just happy they responded the same day. 10:30a.m. the other co. calls me back, told them too late I had someone else take care of it. About 2:00p.m. Allbritten calls an asks me if I would be available early, that they can come out sooner, wow! The tech that came out, Sean was a pleasant change from the usual techs that are often hurried, harried and often hard if not impossible to talk to because of language issues. This young man was very proffesional, a hard worker, took care of our problem, even including a trip to the shop to get the needed part. Gave us what I took to be a fair price, and after spending a couple of hours with this young man I almost felt like I had made a friend. You never know how much you want to praise a company until they literally help you avoid an utter nightmare. I never leave reviews, but 5 years ago, another company scammed me by replacing my 3.5 ton unit with a 4 ton unit in order to secure a future job replacing my duct system. 5 years later, my duct system was destroyed and my 4 ton unit is failing. Allbritten was an absolute godsend. They replaced my duct system for $10k less than the other company quoted and offered to replace the damaged parts to my unit for $2k less. They also found where the other company improperly spliced a 10g wire into an 8g wire that led into my 40 amp breaker, an obvious fire hazard. They went above and beyond with their service, and I sincerely appreciate their honesty (which is rare, I've found, in this business), their kindness, and their professional attention to detail. In the long run, they saved me and my family potentially tens of thousands of dollars of debt. And their yearly service is half as much as the other company, and includes electrical and plumbing services. I had Allbritten install a complete new HVAC system, ducts and insulation in our home last summer and we are TOTALLY satisfied with the service and performance of our new system. When we were required to have a HVAC service contract for our commercial buisness I called Allbritten and they responded quickly and provided me with a service contract proposal. I recieved authorisation from our corporate head quarters and Allbritten came out and serviced our three HVAC units. The tech noticed two heater units in our fabrication area and we had them service those also. We called them because we needed this in our home and I hear them all the time on the radio. I gave them a call and by the very next day Jerrod was sent out to meet us in our home. Allbritten deserves an A+ overall for their professionalism and quality work. We choose them because of the positive experience we had five years prior in another home, and were surprised to work with several of the same employees. Within a week of moving into a newly purchased home with a 27 year old HVAC, we were without heat. Our home warranty company agreed to cover the install of a new unit. Disappointingly, we could not choose the installer (who had the poorest review scores possible on Yelp), nor the unit. After three weeks with no heat, we opted to take a 2k buyout and choose our own product and installer. You can pick the cheap way or the professional way to have a job done. I am glad I chose the professional way. Ronnie and Anthony did a professional job on the insulation, ducts, weatherstripping, A/C unit and everything else that was done to the home. Each day they showed up and gave me a business card although I knew who they were. Each day they layed out the drop cloth and put booties over their shoes. They never took the job or me for granted. I can say I am happy with the job that Ronnie and Anthony did and I am so happy that I chose Allbritten. The temperature is the same throughout the home without the A/C or heater coming on. So far the temperature has not dropped below 70 degrees since the attic insulation was installed. Normally this time of year the morning temp would be 61 degrees inside the house. I have been using Allbritten AC/Heating/Plumbering since 2012, but today was first time I had a serve tech named POOL YANG, who provided superior service. He introduced himself with a business card, used covers for his shoes when walked into my house, checked all components and showed me the list of items and defect (first ever) that he checked and found. I loved the list because it allowed me the wording to communicate with him and letting know exactly what he checked. In fact, he even shared that the checkup came with a free filter exchange, which I was never been told before. With that kind of quality of service and cultural respect (covering his dirty boots before entering an Asian house where our children play and sleep on the floor). This morning we discovered that the AC unit was not cooling. It was Sunday morning. I remembered seeing a short program about AC repair on Television with a representative from Allbritten. I checked online, called and was told that a technician would be arrive in about two hours. Ernesto arrived an hour later. He was professional, informative and friendly. He explained the process and replaced the Capacitor. I had printed the $25.00 special coupon on their website and it was subtracted from a reasonable service fee of $59.00, final service fee was $34.00. Great offer particularly during triple digit temperatures.We signed up for the maintenance plan that will service the AC and Heating (two visits for the year and they will check the gas water heater as well). Always happy to have Allbritten service. We just moved and wanted to get the Guardian Service for our HVAC. In the house we just sold, we had the service and Allbritten also replaced the HVAC and water heater with a tankless. Every interaction has been positive. Before I could schedule them to come out and check the equipment, our system sent us warning messages about the air filter. Allbritten had someone at my home within 3 hours. Anthony cleaned the entire AC and Heating components, tested everything, replaced the filters, adjusted the thermostat, and some of the registers. We have been members with Allbritten for ~ 3 years now and are extremely satisfied with their services! All interactions via telephone and in-person have been prompt and professional. We recently had a new AC unit installed, along with new duct work and ventilation fans. The team worked quickly and did a great job trying to minimize dust/debris within the house during installation. Pricing for services is reasonable and the available financing options are great. After the new AC installation, we had some difficulty with balancing temperatures in the house, however Allbritten came back out as a courtesy and made additional adjustments to the dampers and now everything is perfectly balanced! I called Allbritten a month ago to get a second opinion on fixing a couple shower issues I was having in my older vintage house. I initially contacted my home warranty company and their plummer said to fix the issues I would have to remove tile around the shower to get the work done which would have destroyed my bathroom's original 1940s tile. Aaron from Allbritten got right in there and fixed both problems without having to remove any of the tile and my shower is now working great. I am so thankful to Aaron as he really helped to save my shower and the historical quality of my home.
