My husband, two daughters and mom were on Flight 366 from Punta Gorda airport in Florida to Cincinnati airport on August 31st 2025 and we had a very awful experience. We were convinced the pilot was going to crash on landing. Before we were about to land, the pilot made an announcement saying that skies were clear and winds only 8mph as we were coming into Cincinnati, so we expected an uneventful landing. However, as we descended the plane felt as if it began to fish-tale -- the nose and tail swaying back and forth. No announcement was made to explain what was going on. My husband, who was in Aeromedical Evacuation for the Air Force and who had been on many flights, was very concerned - he said it felt as if the pilot did not have control of the plane. Thank goodness we landed and could get off. However, I am very hesitant to travel with allegiant again. read more

I had a flight disrupted by Hurricane Milton. My friends received their refunds for the arrival and departure flight but I only received a refund for my arrival. In three different phone calls, I've been told that the refund was on its way. I was first told it was Oct 7, but later told it wasn't issued until Oct 11. Today is Oct 26 and I have not received a refund. I was told that I would get an email to track the refund. That didn't happen. Allegiant defrauds their customers. Do not fly Allegiant Air. I've flown Allegiant Air several times when I need to go to a small town, as they often fly directly to places that would require a connection on the major airlines. My experiences at Allegiant have been mixed. I will say that my last set of flights, mid August 2021, were very pleasant with happy people at the counter and generally kind attendants in the air. Also, this last time we flew on Allegiant, our flights were on time, and the app was reasonably straightforward to use. Is Allegiant perfect? No. It is a low-cost carrier with tons of rules that cause increased charges. And, being a smaller carrier, they tend to be most impacted by airport issues, so if there's a delay, you can expect Allegiant to be the last plane allowed to leave once the weather clears. Seats are thin and uncomfortable. The airline doesn't expect you to "settle in" and thus provides a very small tray at the seat. There is no wifi in the air or in-flight entertainment beyond what you bring yourself. Snacks and drinks are for purchase only. But for the price and the ability to fly from the Tampa bay area directly to Greenville SC, I really can't complain. Here's a tip: they will try to seat families together, so either reserve all seats or don't reserve seats. If you reserve a couple seats hoping that they'll seat your kids with you in front, there's a good chance that you'll end up re-seated (together) in one of the last rows. read more

It's a budget airline. Folks should know that going in. I don't so much care about the fees because it sure beats driving from Orlando to WNC and back for the weekend! I'm not overly tall or wide, so the seats are fine for 1.5 flight. I can pack for a weekend in a personal item sized bag, so you really can't beat the price. No frills. Keeps the cost down. We flew to Florida on Allegiant Airlines and used our new suitcase that we though was airport proof. We were wrong. It is a molded metal and the dent on the side is like 4 inches. Anyway the manager at the airport gave us a 25.00 onboard credit, sent a report and said we would hear from someone within the week. we did not. So we contacted them. They responded stating we were only getting the onboard credit. I responded and told them this was not satisfactory as we just purchased the suitcase for 80.00. This means if you are a normal adult you will feel more crammed into a plane than you ever have felt before. If you're 6'2" like myself, buying the "Legroom +" seat will almost allow you to rest your feet on the floor (but not quite). Their 17" seat width is the real killer: I take up at least a quarter of the seat next to me, so unless there is an empty adjacent seat, brace yourself for a miserably claustrophobic experience. read more

Good value if you know how to play the game. However, add all fees up and compare with other airlines as its not always cheaper. Here is what I recommend. No Customer Service, and they don't care! I fly Allegiant a dozen + times throughout the year and have been very pleased with the service provided in the air and at the terminal. The past 10 segments I flew, they were either on time or even early! However, when it comes to reaching someone in customer service over the phone or via email chat, it is beyond frustrating, unprofessional and unacceptable! Basically, it is impossible. I have been trying to reach a live person now for over a week via the phone! I have screen shots to show and prove that I have called 2x with over 60 minute wait time and finally hung up. And, 4x more with 30-45 minute wait times, leading me to hang up. I've also called multiple times where the phone line won't even ring to connect me because they are so busy that the message states that "we are unable to connect your call..." I also went on the website and tried to e-chat with a customer service person and I received a reply that it would be over 30 minutes that someone could e-chat with me!?? Updated: I received a reply from and was asked to PM with my scenario. I did. In detail. And Allegiant's response? They don't care! I asked for a $200 voucher for future flights since I currently booked 4 segments without their promo code working. Because of this I also paid over $200 on the flights because when I went back to book, the fares went up!!! Bottom line, Allegiant customer service does not exist. Poor business practices. It was my first time flying Allegiant air. I purchased a round trip from Asheville to Fort Lauderdale and paid for the luggage pack online since they mention it is more expensive at the airport. At the check-in, the allegiant app wasn't working and the attendant wanted to charge $5 to print my boarding ticket. It took about 30 m minutes to resolve the issue, I said I would prefer to pay, but she said I couldn't because of the system. The flight was ok, the nightmare started on my trip back. I arrived 2 1/2 hours prior to the flight time, just in case the airport was busy. The flight was delayed, they get changing gates, flight status was nowhere to be found, and no airline agents at the counter, or near, to give the passengers any information. 4 hours later people were getting agitated because it was close to midnight and we needed to make arrangements such as rental cars, changing flights, etc. After walking around the airport to find someone from the Allegiant I was able to contact an employee and politely explained that people really needed an update. She was extremely rude, to me and other passengers who were trying to deal with the situation. Helpless! My flight was supposed to leave at 8 pm, and it was 11:50, and no information at all. I asked if she could book me a flight on a different airline, since I had already paid for transportation from Asheville to Greenville (where I live), she said if I would pay would have to book it and pay for it myself. So, I asked for the next flight, and it was the next day to Greenville, I enquired about my checked bag and she said it would be in Greenville the next day. I left the airport having to pay for transportation, rent accommodations for the night, and transportation to the airport the next day. When we landed in Greenville, my bag is nowhere to be found. Again I had to search everywhere for an allegiant employee to get the necessary information to find my luggage. All I got was " call the customer service line". I spent 5 days calling their customer service line, being on hold for more than 4 hours at the time, and nothing! I sent several e-mails and completed the appropriate form on their website. I started calling the airports to try to locate my luggage. It was at the Asheville airport, and the only reason I was able to get this information, was because a very friendly and kind employee of the airport helped me. Allegiant still hasn't returned any of my emails. I had to drive 2 hours to pick up my bag because the only information I received was that I would have to pay for FedEx to have it delivered to me. It is beyond unbelievable the lack of customer service. People can say it is a budget airline, but in reality, when you factor in all the extra charges, like bags, seats, etc, the difference is not that much. Budget-friendly or not, consumers are spending their money, in this case, hard-earned money with a company, the bare minimum we can expect in return is a good service. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with Allegiant Airlines today. My sister and I have been looking forward to her visit today. She arranged vacation time for her four day visit with me in Florida. Allegiant Airlines was extremely difficult to work with concerning car rentals at the airport. They claim that we could rent a car and return it to another location via their website. However, when we called to verify and make an additional rental not only would they not allow the rental car company the freedom to do so they refused to refund our money when we asked to merely cancel the reservation so we could start over. The person on the phone actually hung up on us after an hour (not an exaggeration, we timed it) on hold to speak with someone. Over an 8 hour layover that ruined my trip and stuck me in an airport with my 2 year old for several hours. No apologies - just free pizza and no other compensation for ruining the entire vacation by effectively taking 1 evening and the following day to recover from the horrible travel out of a 3 day vacation. From talking with the GSP airport employees, this is a frequent occurence since Allegiant came to GSP and happens almost every Thursday and Monday, which are the only days Allegiant flies out of GSP. My bags were locked in an office when I arrived because I got to the carousel 10 minutes after landing and the employees wanted to go home (it was after 1 AM), which also included the car seat for my child and would have left me completely stranded with a baby if not for the food court employee who helped me find someone to get my belongings from the locked office. To make matters worse as I checked my bags to return home I was met by a rude, nasty woman who asked if I had just one bag to check. I told her yes and a car seat and she acted like I was an idiot for not mentioning the car seat as counting as a bag so I told her they didn't charge me for the car seat checking on the departing flight to which her response was "Did I say I was going to charge you?!" I have flown on trips at least twice per year since I can remember and have NEVER EVER had this kind of layover and rude treatment in ANY instance. I understand that occasionally there are issues beyond the control of the airline that lead to inconvenient experiences, but this was over the top and I have always been compensated for the much shorter delays I experienced with other airlines - nothing but pizza here. I guess it's true - you get what you pay for and I would gladly pay 3 times the cost of this ticket to avoid any risk of such a terrible experience in the future. read more

The worst airline ever! Not only are they always late, they charge you for every tiny thing. I booked a rental car thru them and found out at the end it did not include the taxes and airport fees. They suck!!! By the time you pay all the extra fees for printing your boarding pass, picking a seat paying for a checked bag that can only be 40 lbs and paying for a carry on, you would have saved money by booking a normal airline.
