Called to make an appointment with Allegri Electric and the front desk was polite and professional. On the appointed day, the front desk called and asked if they could send the electrician earlier than the appointment window of two hours. Yes, thank you. He arrived and the front desk called and asked for the front gate code. Excellent Polite Customer Service. When the Licensed Technician arrived he covered his boots before entering the house as requested and he wore a mask due to the flu and Covid 19 season, which was appreciated. I offered new masks and wore a mask myself. Breaker #7-8 were replaced and the AC outlets in the kitchen checked. All AC outlets worked perfectly. Allegri gave the best service at the fairest price I've had in a long time. The technician who came out is Jordan and I'll be asking for him again if there are other electrical issues. Kudos also to the office staff and foreperson, both of whom were helpful, responsive and professional. Allegri sent out Jordan the same day I called in. The problem was two non-functioning outlets on the same line, a seemingly difficult problem to diagnose given that two other outlets on the line worked fine, the electrical box had no issues, and I had replaced the malfunctioning outlets but with no success. In less than an hour and a half, Jordan had the problem diagnosed and repaired. I stayed with Jordan the entire time, to learn as much as I could. There was no wasted time and Jordan worked quickly. I cannot say enough good things about Allegri Electric! We have a 123 yr old home in Santa Cruz, with very old wiring. When our power randomly cut out, we mistakenly called PG&E first (hot tip don't do that. Call Allegri first!). PG&E came out and were extremely rude about the very old electrical set up in our home. They had discovered the line into the house from the pole had apparently started to come loose from the storms, arced, and burned up. We're lucky the house didn't catch fire. PG&E shut power off at the pole, and took our smart meter they had installed in what we were now told was an illegal panel location in our home 6 yrs prior. We immediately called Allegri for an estimate. Lori in the office was incredibly kind and responsive. Jordan and his partner were on the scene within 45 mins to access! Both Jordan and partner (I'm sorry for not catching his name) were extremely kind, knowledgeable, communicative, and reassuring. After getting other bids, we chose Allegri not only for the price, but for the professionalism. Jordan and partner were on site only a few hours later, emergency permits in hand and a city inspection already scheduled for the very next morning! They knocked out moving our panel from inside to outside, repairing wiring, installing grounding rods etc - in 2 HOURS! We were blown away. The city came for inspection at 9am the next day as promised and we were in the clear. Then PG&E did everything they could besides their job for the next 7 days. Jordan and Lori were on the phone multiple times a day fighting PG&E over a multitude of ridiculous reasons PG&E came up with. Jordan had to come back 4x to take pictures of their work to submit. Instead of PG&E just showing up and doing their inspection like they should've. Lori called us with every update she had as soon as she got one. They were so apologetic, even though they had nothing to apologize for. We finally got power back 8 days after it went off - Thanks to PG&E's lack of response to the task at hand. Allegri has been in business for 57 years, and I can see why! They are fantastic to work with, fast, so responsive, and worked so hard fighting for us. I can't recommend them enough! I described my situation to Allegri Electric and they suggested calling PG&E first because they thought it might be the line from the pole. I called PG&E and with in 24 hrs they had diagnosed and changed the wire! Sure enough that was it. While I cannot review the quality of their work, I can review the LACK of professionalism I have experienced TRYING to hire this company. I called them in November 2020 to schedule a bid. They never showed up on the date/time of the appointment. NEVER CALLED. NOTHING. I called them, was told they had a contract with Granite Construction and HAD to give them priority. OKAY....FINE. So I rescheduled. They said they went out (I wasn't there) and yet I never heard from them. I called them THREE times before Christmas asking about the bid. I got excuse after excuse. Delayed, back logged, receptionist said she would contact the electrician to clarify. On Jan 4th 2021 I called and was told the electrician had misunderstood the bid request and they didn't have anything written up. I clarified (what was CLEAR the first time I called and the subsequent times as well) what we needed. I called back on 1/20/21 having NEVER heard from Allegri. I was told they didn't have anything written up. I told them to just forget it. I contacted John Hope Electric and they are giving me a bid tomorrow. I will NEVER contact Allegri Electric for any of my clients (or personal) needs EVER. Absolutely unprofessional conduct! read more

I called them for an estimate on an electrical job. The nearest appointment was 2 weeks out. A bit of a wait, but I waited. They came out and looked at the job and said the "office" would email out a bit. After not hearing anything for several days I email them. Lori said I would get bid on Friday or Monday at the latest. Yet nothing ever showed up. Then on Tuesday morning I received this "Monday are extremely busy for us so I apologies for this delayed response. Janice is in the process of getting the proposals completed today. We will email it to you by the end of the day". I work for a local retail store and was referred to Allegri by our plumbers, George H.Wilson. I really like George H. Wilson and their professionalism so I trusted their referral. The first time we called them was to price out possibly putting in a garbage disposal - there wasn't the necessary outlet/circuit for it so the plumbers said we needed to get it installed. Phil came by to do the estimate and, with great integrity, said he felt that it wasn't necessary to install a garbage disposal in a commercial building and that it might lead to more problems (such as clogged drains due to employees attempting to stuff large pieces of debris down the disposal). I figured anyone who was willing to turn away work to help us avoid even more heartache in the future was someone to keep. So, though we have used other electricians, the next time we needed some work done, we called Allegri. We just had a couple of small jobs - easy work for their crew and the billing was reasonable. Ballast replacements, etc. We just had another incident with some flickering lights and the appointment maker shrewdly suggested we call PG&E first to have them take a look (for free). So, that's what we did and PG&E fixed it that day. It was great that they guided me to the path that would allow me to save the most time and get our problem fixed. What I really appreciate is the integrity and the smart suggestions full of common sense - they aren't just looking to collect on unnecessary work and I feel like they really look out for us as a customer. Nick Allegri responded the same morning I called regarding a strange, crackling sound coming from the breaker box in my home. While there the box started to arc and spark catching the sheet rock on fire! Nick, with ninja like quickness, stuck his hand through the flame to clip the main wire to the panel while his partner Tony ran to the main shut off outside. Nick was able to extinguish the small fire very quickly, averting major damage! I am so grateful that Nicks quick action saved my condo from disaster. read more

We just can't say enough positives about Allegri Electric. We have been interior designers for over 20 years and have worked with a plethora of electricians, most wonderful. Two years ago, we expanded our design business to include a retail store, Hive & Hum, in a 100+ year old building with a 30 foot ceiling which needed some serious electrical upgrades. The electricians we typically worked with in residential situations couldn't handle the height or complicated situation. Fortunately, somebody turned us onto Allegri (we can't remember who but THANK YOU!!!). They did an amazing job at our business two years ago, super speedy and totally professional and very enthusiastic about working with a local business as they are a local family business as well. Since then, we have referred them to many residential clients and a few commercial clients and everybody has been extremely happy. But the real reason we are writing this review is because we are about to host a wedding reception at our house for 200 people and realized at the last minute that we seriously needed to get some electrical upgrades to make our backyard more inviting and functional. We literally called them 10 days ago and they jumped right on board and we now have a Wedding Haven. AND, they made a bunch of small adjustments/ improvements on the interior of our house as well. I thought I had a small electrical problem. My son, visiting from Texas, tried to replace one double switch and install a GFCI outlet but decided that the old wiring in my house was beyond his experience. They are very nice, they do good work. However, if you use them be sure to see what you are being billed for before they leave. They do not accept payment when the job is completed - you are billed later. So if there is a discrepancy in time or materials it is your word against the electricians. I lost. read more

We needed some electrical work done in order to accommodate solar panels we're planning to put in and called Allegri Electric because we try to use local, family businesses whenever possible. Nick came out and walked us through what we'd need, listening to and addressing each of our concerns and patiently answering all of our questions. When the work was to be done, Tony and Jordan showed up on time and began work. As the day progressed, Tony asked questions to be sure he was on track and doing what we wanted. He continued to check in throughout the day making sure that each step of the work was exactly what we wanted done. He was cheerful, professional and, I can't stress this enough, concerned about aesthetics in a way that most workers are not. He made sure that wires were routed in a technically correct manner but what struck me most is that he was as concerned as I was with how they would look. He even took the time to run wires under the house in order to avoid having them show outside. He also managed to figure out how to mount our outside light fixtures in a way that I was told by another electrician couldn't be done and now it functions and looks so much better than it did before.
