My grandmother has lived here for 10+ years and it's gone down hill immensely. The food is not good anymore, and the staff acts underpaid and irritated. They pinch penny's. I write this review as I am stuck in their elevator, which breaks down multiple times each month. Hope there isn't an emergency. Do not move your loved ones into this rotten place. read more

My apt is very nice. I love living on the 5th floor. It is a little bit of a pain when the elevators go down, but something you have to deal with living on the 5th floor. If you are looking for a "perfect" place, stay where you are. They don't exist. But I have found that all of the staff are wonderful. Friendly and helpful. The building itself is decent, but the restaurant is poorly run. The staff is rude and clearly doesn't care about customers--they look annoyed and even sigh when asked for help. The food is mediocre at best and absolutely not worth the time. The buffet is by far the worst part: it constantly runs out of food and takes 10-20 minutes just to refill a tray. On multiple occasions, they advertised items on the buffet only to say, "Sorry, we thought we had it, but we don't," once you arrive. I would not recommend this place to anyone. . read more

The assisted living side management is a Hot mess they don't care about there patients or there staff they have no hot water half the time residents barley have food it's always cold when it do arrive staff not friendly at all.the carpet is Dirty the floor never mop no communication with management they don't answer call lights or emails they have bugs read more

There are a few dedicated employees here in the skilled nursing center, and they make all the difference to these vulnerable residents. There are many issues, however, with consistency of care, cleanliness of facility, and accountability. Among the most disturbing was the bold theft, and attempted theft, of personal belongings after my friend died. Just unbelievable. read more

I, finally, many months later and after hiring an attorney, received payments for the transportation services we have provided for four months. had my loved one admitted for therpy on the 24th of may. took 2 weeks to get my mom the therpy she needed. nurses and cna's do as little as possible to help thier patients. they tend to be very slow to respond to the patient needs. they really dont care much for what they charge for services at $429 dollars a day, not including therpy. therpy is excellent amy is a real help once you go through all the red tape. social worker does'nt do and dosnt care about you. my mom is on her 2nd appeal to get therpy she needs. insurance only gives 14 days then you need to appeal to get 1 more week and so on. do not send you loved ones here the service is subpar. read more

Allegria Village - Retirement Homes Near Me - Dearborn, Michigan

Facility is now called Allegria Village. Our loved one is in independent living and it is great how there's so many things to do, activities available for our loved one. The food is pretty decent and more than reasonably priced. Apartments are really nice, lots of choices on size & layout. The only downside is how large the place is but everything you need is right there, it just might take you a while to get to it. We're pretty happy with Allegria & love how even in independent living we can request help for things like bathing, transportation etc. Kudos to Nerys Hernandez, the marketing director. She is the most patient & kind person & we are so happy with her involvement in assisting us with our loved one who was having a hard time adjusting to the fact she needs to move from her home for safety reasons. This experience has shown us just what options are available for seniors in our are. We recommend Allegria Village. Oh and when you talk to the residents they say they're happy living there. read more

The skilled nursing/rehab part of the company is terrible. It is understaffed. The nurses and therapy do the best they can, but otherwise.... DO NOT COME HERE. People screaming for nurses, the smell, no cleaning up. They do the bare minimum to keep your loved one alive. read more

Don't put a loved one here. It's now called Allegria Village, which took ownership October 2021. My mom has been there a year and it's steadily gone down hill. They are very short staffed. It's dirty and unprofessional. They closed her dining room due to staffing and they gave them to go meals in styrofoam. She pays $4k a month, for this??? Last night they asked her to serve food in a dining room bc they only had 3 servers. She didn't have the heart to say no. She had just finished a shift volunteering in the gift shop for 2 hours. She's 87!!! She almost passed out from exhaustion after another 2 hours in the dining room. Today, she's bedridden and her body hurts from working. I'm so angry. We're moving her out ASAP. read more

I have lived at Henry Ford Village for almost 12 years and can honestly write that it was the best decision my husband and I could have made. The Hobby Shop was what attracted my husband, and he spent many, many days creating bookcases, toy chests and rocking horses for our grand children down there. I was overjoyed at the thought of never having to make another dinner LOL; each evening we would decide which menu we liked best and head for either Great Lakes, St. Clair or Windows Cafe. Times change, and my husband became ill and passed away years before we had ever expected. Thankfully I had many wonderful friends and acquaintances who were there for me, and I have come to appreciate life again. I am active with our in-house TV station, can go to our beautiful chapel for services or mass on Sunday mornings, or play any number of card games with other residents. We have over 100 interest groups, so I am never bored! I might even learn to play golf or tennis this year! Whatever I do, I live in a safe and caring home and I appreciate it. read more

Henry Ford Village is a great place to live. Great amenities, staff, programs and residents.

They cashed a deposit check without first interviewing my mother to see if she would fit in at the village. After the interview they decided not to accept her and wanted to make me wait until they figured out how to give me back my security deposit. They are dishonest. I visited at least 5 different Assisted Living places in Detroit and surrounding suburbs and I left check with the others and they were returned immediately after a decision was made regarding my mother. My grandmother was a resident here for a brief time in the rehab facility. The staff was nice and somewhat attentive. I say somewhat because they seemed to be understaffed for the amount of residents on a floor. There were usually 2 per side of hallway (I think). If our loved one was requesting something over and over and over and over again, we had to hunt someone down for it. Granted, I understand that attention isn't going to be *snaps finger* an instant, but there were times we'd have to wait and wait and wait for a change or for her to be taken to the bathroom. We could tell that the staff also learned the residents and realized when they *really* needed something vs. when they thought they needed something or vs. when they just wanted to ask for things just for entertainment. Overall, the people were nice and related to us on a personal level. There were ones that we shared conversations and smiles with and that's important when someone else is caring for your loved one. They were good for maintaining positive relationships. read more

This business needs to be reevaluated for care to patients. My grandfather was in their care and all because of a police sticker he had on his phone the midnight shift and others began to mistreat him and refused to assist in his care. They allowed his defib vest to go off for 45 minutes before my grandmother called and they came into his room and said "well his vest is not properly working and it seems one of the connections is broke but it's fine" shortly after my grandfather was rushed back to Beaumont hospital and coded twice before getting a tube shoved down his throat for four days. He was progressing before going to this facility and then because of their care he completely back tracked and was worse off than he was before he went there for rehabilitation. I'd honestly not even give this place one star. Not only was the above incident an issue, but also before this, transporting him in a broken wheel chair when he only had use of the right side of his body and he was having to hold his non working leg over his good leg to be taken to dialysis. Then in transport when picking him up from rehab, they were Late every time. Please do not send your family here. They left him with his full bed pan next to him. Didn't give him his meds he needed. And so many other things. The lack of compassion and care is very disheartening. read more

My husband and I have lived here almost 9 years. These have been some of the happiest and most fulfilling times of our lives. I can't stress enough how important it is to come here while you're still young and healthy enough to totally enjoy this carefree lifestyle and all its amenities. We have learned to do things we never dreamed of doing, gotten to know wonderful people whose paths we might not otherwise have crossed, and learned to appreciate how GOOD we have it here. Is everything perfect here? Of course not. But management really tries to tackle any problems as efficiently as possible. There is NO WAY I'd want to live at any other retirement community. I especially love how culturally diverse we are here, and how welcoming residents are to new neighbors who may be very different from themselves. read more

Make sure you read your contract in full before you sign, what they tell you and what is says are not the same. If you move out after 30 days you are required to pay 90 days rent, plus another 90 days for it to be seen, plus remodel for new tenent. Your very large deposit is not returned until it is rented . New management has only made issue's worse in the apartment side, food is poor. Rehab is also under staffed They are a lot of very nice facilitys other than this. read more

A family member of mine recently had the misfortune of being sent and held hostage at this place. He was conned by the referring physician, who sent him there for rehab, saying that he could leave anytime he wanted. After two sleepless nights he decided he wanted to go home. He was told he could not leave and if he decided to leave he would be billed $30,000 as insurance would not cover the bill. As it would have been too great an economical burden, my dad felt he had no choice but to stay. At this price, at the very least my dad should be sleeping and getting rest. Otherwise, how are you supposed to be rehabilitated? This man has no trouble sleeping on his own at home. Their solution was to drug my dad instead of allowing him to be in the best possible place for him to get the most rest and recover. He requested melatonin at that point and the staff refused that night, stating that they would get an order for the following night. So, two nights passed without any order for a sleep aid when that was the primary issue around being at this facility. Also, in the middle of one of the nights, he asked for something for his heartburn and was denied medication because again, there was no order for a medication. We were told there was a doctor on-call 24hrs a day. This tells me that the staff there put my loved one's priorities second to his or her decision not to call the doctor. Again, for a price tag like this all these details should have been addressed in a much different manner. It is extremely basic knowledge that if a person doesn't get their physiological needs met such as sleep, there is very little motivation to achieve other things, like rehab! If it were up to me, I would be demanding a refund. This place is a joke, and even dangerous. read more

Make sure you read and fully understand the contract. My loved one passed away over 4 years ago and my children were to receive the deposit from her apartment as per my loved ones wishes. We have yet to receive any amount of money and the apartment sold almost 6 months ago. I have heard that waiting over 4 years for a return of one's deposit happens frequently. read more
