Great food always fresh and cooked to order. I have only had the Chicken, Potato Wedges(Wife's Fav) and Coleslaw all of which have been outstanding every time. I stop and get the Coleslaw when I am making Rubin's which is a little pricey, but one of the best I have had. I also will pick up their BBQ sauce when I am in, great flavor. The flavors of this place come right from the food processing distributor's kitchen. The service is as you would expect from a small restaurant in a strip mall, as is the ambiance. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to eat as this place is bland and boring when it comes to their food, and I would never describe it as "barbeque." read more

Just paid a bunch of money for chicken dinner and it was terrible! First of all, it stunk up my car on the way home but I didn't think much of that. Then I got home and tried the chicken and it tasted like it was fried in old oil. The drumsticks tasted funky, as if they had been sitting around for a long time. Couldn't eat them. Then I tried the potato salad and it was terrible too! It tasted like potato salad that you buy at the grocery store. You know, the stuff it the tubs that was made and packaged elsewhere. Probably sits in the tubs for months! My salad was brown around the edges too. I paid $34 for a meal that was inedible. I hadn't been to Alan K Ryan's in a few years and it used to be a lot better. The chicken tasted fresh and I think they used to make their own potato salad, which was awesome! This is no longer a good place to eat. read more

Stopped in after golf and sat down for lunch. I had the regular chicken dinner with potato wedges and coleslaw. The broasted chicken was hot, crispy, moist, and delicious. The potato wedges were hot, crispy, fluffy in the middle, and very tasty. The coleslaw had a sweet taste to it, which I love. I recommend this place for a sit down or a to go meal. read more

The menu reads $38 + for a 10 piece cod bucket . Called to place the order they said they reduced it to a 8 piece but the pieces of fish are bigger (Not True) went ahead and ordered I was shocked when paying she said that will be $59 and some change I'm like that's not what your menu reads she says yes I know it says online call for pricing with that kind of an increase in price why didn't she tell us that on the phone so I go ahead and pay give the girl a five dollar tip because I know it's not those two girls fault they don't set the pricing put it in my car and I couldn't hardly stand the smell for the ride home worst fish I ever had in my life I would never recommend this place your pricing is crazy $20 higher than the menu you got to be kidding me.... read more

My husband and I ordered chicken and mashed potatoes from this place, I can't say about the service because my husband picked up the order, I can say though that the chicken was only lukewarm, dry as dust, and overcooked, was just like chicken jerky! Mostly a carry-out business, they do have a couple of tables inside if you can't wait to bite into that juicy chicken. We were hungry and decided to dine in. It was mid-afternoon on a Sunday, not busy at all. DH and I brought daughter and toddler granddaughter. We ordered 3 lunch specials (about $6 each with fries, wedges, or cole slaw and a pop) and a side of macaroni for the little one. DH ordered the dark meat 2-pc with cole slaw, I opted for the 2-pc white meat, DD chose chicken tenders and fries. Chicken tenders & fries were as predictable as her menu choice, standard food service stuff, but who would expect different. (She was happy but pretty low standards IMO). DH and my chicken came lightly battered with a nice golden brown color and extra-crispy texture. Very juicy. I guess worth the wait, which seemed like a long time from order to table, but next time would probably order ahead. Cole slaw was creamy and sweet with a little vinegary but not unpleasant bite on the back end; the wedges were very yummy. I recommend the ribs, chicken, tossed salad and coleslaw. The ribs were perfectly cooked, chicken was excellent, the tossed salad was so fresh and they have the best coleslaw. We were getting some pool supplies in the same plaza earlier this summer when we noticed some flyers on their counter for a recently opened restaurant a few doors down. On the spur of the moment, we decided to get lunch at Allen K. Ryan's. We opted for a special they were offering- a bucket of chicken, with bread/butter, and two sides. We went with the broasted potato wedges and cole slaw. We've been craving the same meal on a regular basis ever since and indulged that craving several times! WOW. This is hands down the best fried chicken either of us has ever had. The sides are all excellent, too - those potato wedges are the stuff of dreams. Nice creamy, just sweet enough cole slaw. We've tried the potato salad on a subsequent visit, and it was yummy, too. Their signature barbecue sauce is just the right mix of sweet and spicy, and definitely have them dip your chicken in it - it's worth the upcharge! We love to dip our potato wedges in it, too - forget ketchup! We've bought a bottle of the BBQ sauce and I used it in place of ketchup for my meatloaf recipe here at home - and we both agreed, it was significantly improved by that change. (And meatloaf was already a popular dish around here to begin with, but it was made better!) Really nice family that owns and runs the place too. Your dollars stay local when you eat here, and you are getting better quality than you would elsewhere. At a chain restaurant, my husband would need several pieces of chicken to feel full. One of the humongous chicken breasts here was enough to fill him up along with the sides! Very reasonable pricing for what you get. Definitely check these folks out! Great food and great price. The portions were excellent. I would say the portions might even be jumbo. I ordered two piece broasted chicken leg and thigh and got more fresh potato wedges that I could eat and they were excellent. He wife had the grilled chicken breast and it was a real chicken breast and grilled very well. Excellent! Probably the best grilled chicken breast we've had anywhere. A previous reviewer said this was all processed food, but not one thing on the menu that I've tried is processed food at all. It's a small place but the service is good and you can get the broasted chicken which is lightly breaded by the bucket and take it home with you. They also do catering and the prices seem very reasonable. The ribs look good and I plan on trying them next. They make their own barbecue sauce it is very good and they leave it on the table for you to put as much on your food as you want. They also have Frank's RedHot and malt vinegar for those great potato wedges. Seating is limited and we enjoyed the food so much that I hesitate to even spread the word, but this is one of those best kept secrets that you should know about. read more

Best chicken this side of Frankenmuth! I would even go as far as saying they are as good as Zender's! The burgers are also nothing short of amazing! I go here at least once a week sometimes more. The prices are great. You can walk out with a burger and frys for the same price as burger king. Difference = these burgers are 10X better! read more

By far the best fried chicken in the county! They put something in their spice mix, I can't place it but it tastes like nothing I've ever had. It's best served right from their kitchen. I had it catered once and it was good, but as with most things, it's less good as it cools, so we enjoy eating in their restaurant so it's served piping hot. Even though I don't like cold food in general, I will say their chicken reheats really well in the microwave. The Mac and cheese is also awesome. It was dry, overcooked & the smokey flavor was not appealing. The burger was an okay review--not a, gotta return but it did the trick for the moment. The potato wedges were lukewarm & a few were cold--that was a huge disappointment. So many reviews were try them try them--and drat, they were not good. And high prices for small amounts of food. That was the big key. It's pricey! But, there it is---went off other reviews to try--not worth it for us---so keep on trying. They are catering our wedding. We came in for a tasting and the food was delicious. The owner was so personable and flexible with what we wanted. The ribs are amazing. They fall right off the bone. The broasted chicken is perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The potato wedges are absolutely out of this world. They are big thick cut slices of potatoes, bursting with natural potato flavor. The house Cole Slaw is also a big hit. Something that would make the Colnel jealous. Amazing! I truly mean that. This little spot has done in, carry out, and catering. They serve ribs (which fall off the bone), chicken, burgers, fish, and sandwiches. The fish had a cheese stick type breading, which was nice. The ribs fell off the bone and the chicken was super juicy. The BBQ sauce has an apple flavoring to it. We will definitely return here.
