Big mistake doing business with Allen Motors. Instead of agreeing on a price to sell my car at, I should have kept his fee to a percentage of the sale price so that he would have had an incentive to get the top price. Having not heard from him in a couple of weeks, I decided to call him. It turned out that he had "sold" the car without notifying me. He turned possession of the vehicle to the buyer, and only collected a deposit! Thankfully, the buyer returned to pay the balance of the purchase price. I had a great experience purchasing a vehicle for my daughter from Garrett. I called asking for more pics and details about a 2018 i3 S that they had and Garrett was transparent with me on its condition, confirming some minor blemishes and providing a video walk around and additional pics so that I could judge for myself if it was worth the 1.5hr drive to check out the car in person and purchase. We worked out a deal over text and agreed on a fair price. When I arrived, I was given as much time as I needed to inspect the car, take it for a test drive, and charge it up at the local BMW dealer. I was gone for probably an hour and not once did they freak out or demand I bring the car back. I was pretty impressed that they gave me leeway to make sure I was good with the car. But the best part of my purchase experience with Garrett and team was the fact that they did not try to upsell me or "add on" any BS package like paint protection, GPS tracking, or fabric/leather warranties. All those are complete garbage and it's good to see Allen Motors not use those unethical bait and switch practices that other used car dealers do. It is probably the worst thing any dealer can do to you besides sell you a lemon. Garrett was professional, easy going, and made the process go very smoothly from beginning to end. I got a great car for my daughter at a fair price and I didn't have to wade through any BS sales pitches or get tricked into paying for "add ons" that I did not want. The details were that there was this sticky liquid that seemed to be coming from the engine down to my feet in the driver's side. When I spoke to the gentleman Alan the night before he seemed to be filled with ideas It could be one of two things blah blah blah. I brought it in before 8:00 a.m. They fit me in but they kept encouraging me to get an oil change Why would I get an oil change on a second hand car that may be unrepairable $1,500 plus was the thing we were deciding on. They kept pushing for the oil change when really I just wanted to pay them for diagnostics. Instead what happened is they did the oil change returned it to me had no solutions The stuff they were making up was complete crap I getting me in and out in an hour and talking me into coming back and spending two more hours to check on if it was a leak from a window?? They couldn't say from where and they could only tell me another 2 hours of $180 they would look into what they thought it was. I thought the term "sleazy car salesman" was something just made up in movies. But boyyy was I wrong. These guys are the epitome of awful human beings who are solely after your money and don't care what they have to do to get it. Whatever you do, DO NOT give them your business. We bought a car from here and as warranty states, you have 30 days for them to fix any issues. Within the first day of purchasing our car, we took it to our mechanic and there was an absolute laundry list of issues wrong with the vehicle. We sent them the list of concerns and they simply said it wasn't true and to of course.. "bring it to their mechanic to look at it." Magically, their mechanic said there was zero wrong with the car. But of course after that within days we still found many things to not be working properly. So we took it to a DIFFERENT mechanic we found again. They named all the same things wrong with the vehicle. What did Allen Motors say?? "They are gonna say anything they can just to get money from us and none of these things are true.. bring it to our mechanic again to check it out." And of course I'm sure you can guess how this next part goes?? "Nothing was wrong with it" according to them. Then along side all the mechanical issues the tire kept losing air and we thought it was just a quick tire patch up so we took it in to our guy.. but nope! It was a cracked rim that was a huge expensive fix. So with our car still being under warrenty, we had to get it towed an HOUR away back to Allen Motors and they said that.. there wasn't a cracked rim and that it was fine. We got it towed back to us and guess what??? It came to us on the tow bed.... with a completely flat tire just as we sent it off with. We brought it back to the tire shop and they looked at the rim again. And not only was it still very obviously cracked.. they told us that Allen Motors had now their guy try to MODGE PODGE it shut. Literally glue the rim together.. But, they told us it wasn't cracked? Hmm! So of course after a hellish run around by them for the thirty days until the warranty was up, and their hands were washed clean. They got their money and did ZERO to help us with this car. And after us needing to spend $600 of our own money to replace the rim, every single thing that our mechanics told us was wrong, went wrong. The car completely stopped working while driving it on freeway fast lane. Shut down. Which was so incredibly dangerous and terrifying. And the water pump as our original mechanic told us was an issue that needed to be fixed that they REFUSED to fix.. caused for a complete engine failure. We got another tow to the shop and with all the repairs that needed to be done.. the cost came to $9,000.... about $3,000 less than we paid for the entire vehicle just a couple months before this. Can you imagine? The car was TOTALED. Because of their negligence or care to sell a car that is even safe to drive! We then of course panicked and tried to call our car dealer Garrett to ya know just.. see if there was anything they could do to help. ANYTHING. We are a young couple and it was a struggle even getting this vehicle and we had a totaled car that was sold to us as a lemon. We had no other choices. But what did Garrett say? "Nope there's nothing I can help you. The warranty is up. I'm not running a charity shop." Ahh.. how charming! So happy to have just paid every penny we had to such a deserving sweet man... NOT! So now... we have a car that we are paying arms and legs for every month.. completely totaled sitting in our driveway. With literally NOTHING we can do about it. Stuck to now sharing one vehicle while working two separate jobs in Los Angeles. As you can imagine... really tough. AND they only use one absolute trash one star financing company that is based out of Mexico that also even with DOZENS of phone calls.. you guessed it, did NOTHING to help us. You can't even speak to an actual person that has any sort of power or even knows what you are talking about. The literal only number this financing company has, is to a call center out of the country that is solely there to harass people to pay their bills on time. And ALL of this is because everyone at Allen Motors are CROOKS and horrific, rude, unhelpful, lying people. I am a very kind patient person and I never wish ill on anyone.. except for them. And I hope they go out of business for what kind of sketchy awful spot they are running. And! It's a family run business too can you believe it? All I can say is Run Run Run! purchased a 2008 Mercedes Benz from this company a week ago. The first thing I noticed is that the steering wheel control ( that access mileage and diagnostics and many other things) didn't work. Garrett has told me this is not covered under there 50/50 30 day warranty. I also noticed that the tires one the car (although they have some tread) are cracked and manufactured 10 years ago. Which makes them unsafe to drive on. Garrett offer me discounted pricing on tires, of which he should have never sold the car with ancient tires. Garrett's response about the tires was "They may be old but they have thread" (see his response below) But now for the biggest misleading false advertisement of them all. In their ad (see photo) they claim the car has a "Brand New Transmission" they put an old used transmission in the car not new!! The used transmission according to the repair shop (I calked from receipt) was never even opened up to service, just installed in the car because he said that's what Allen Motors wanted. Also the car had about 25 trouble codes that I could not see myself breccia of the steering wheel controls being broken. I just hope they all don't cause me issues in the future. Please just be aware when purchasing a car from these guys. They don't live up to anything they say and lie in their ads. Make sure you check everything out on/in the car, including tires and all the buttons. Garrett said this is a personal friends car and it was babied! I wonder how many times he has used that line! This is the reply email I got from Garrett after asking him to cover some of my expenses 50/50. I am writing another review to update my previous review. We bought a used Audi from Allen Motors back in September 2022. We had immediate issues with a faulty headlight that they cared very little to remedy (see previous review). Fast forward to it now being February, and we are receiving paperwork from the DMV stating that the registration was never completed, and the title not fully transferred. The car has personalized legacy plates that were never released by the previous owner (dealer's job), and so technically the plates are still in the previous person's name, not mine. We called Allen Motors and told them about the issue. They proceeded to tell us that their DMV person wasn't in the office that day, but that that he/she would get back to us. Two weeks have gone by, and that hasn't happened. No one has called us. This dealership is so incredibly unprofessional and disorganized. We now need to go to the DMV to sort out this problem, since AAA can't even solve it. I will continue to intentionally recommend that people NEVER purchase a car from here. If I could give negative stars I would. So I just experienced a very strange, unpleasant, unprofessional experience with Allen motors. They definitely are poorly managed to say the absolute least. Let's start by saying I had received a quote for my car twice. Once in person and once over the phone. They told me that if I sold it that day it would be 10.5k and if I wanted to consign it I could get more. I went the consignment route. I had waited a couple weeks to think about it. I called (now for the 3rd time) to confirm. I went in and things were being squared away.. until someone (a red head man) who I assume was the manager rudely and with a foul tone came to tell me that i was basically a liar. And if I had gotten that quote it was from someone who quit that day and they would not recognize the numbers we spoke on. So then I asked about the cash in value, if it was still 10.5 and he said closer to 8k. I understand that the car market is high right now. I know he was full of crap... Anyways you get the idea and the story goes on and on. I looked at the reviews and thought maybe some people were being dramatic so I ignored it.I wish I had! PLEASE LISTEN TO THESE REVIEWS! Seriously who ever is running this place is the definition of a sleazy used car dealership sales man. I hate to be rude but there are actually no other words for him. It's like they did all that for me to take work off and take time to go down there just to settle on a lower price. This was a waste of my time. It was so disrespectful and inconsiderate. Hi, I just recently bought a Porsche Panamera from Garrett. I work as a finance manager for a big car dealership and understand how to treat a customers and being transparent about a car. We have standards and disclosure guidelines to which Allen motors does not! I paid quite a substantial amount of money for a car that Garrett described as daily driver for him, there were no leaks, problems etc. etc. This was a clean and beautiful car, apart from a few minor cosmetic issue's for the age, is what came out of his mouth. I paid an extra $1200 for transportation. It arrived 3 days late and close to 11pm. I could not inspect it but there were a host of lights that came on the dashboard. Chassis system failure, broken engine mount, brake pad wear sensors, no oil change, no filter changes, tbh, this was a piece of shit car they sold me. My techs told me how the hell did this pass a safety inspection. There is major under carriage damage, not disclosed and many cosmetic's that were not listed. Garrett is a smooth talker but do not believe one word that comes out of his mouth. I hear that this was my own daily driver has been mentioned by other customers. Clearly this man lies and is quite deceitful. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone, please be careful in your purchase. Guess I will see these guys in court in September. read more

By far the best car buying experience I have ever had, new or used. Let me explain; I purchased a 2000 Porsche Carrera Cabrilolet from Rick at Allen Motors in December of 2014. Negotiation and purchase went very smooth. Rick handled with exceptional professionalism. As part of the negotiation, Rick agreed to replace the rear window of the Carrera at no charge. Fast forward 1 year. Through no fault of the dealer, I had not brought the Porsche back to Allen Motors to have the window replaced as they were over an hour away from my house ( I live in Whittier). After contacting Rick this month about replacing the window per our agreement, Rick responded by saying "sure, no problem, bring it in!" Keep in mind that this was a verbal agreement. They could have very easily said; Too late, tough luck. After dropping it off and having Rick's guy work on it for a couple of days, Rick called and said, "you know, the window's been replaced, but it really doesn't look quite right, so we are going to replace the whole (convertible) top for you, no charge. Again, this is full year after I bought the car! Keep in mind that replacing the window was based on a verbal agreement! The new top and window look beautiful, couldn't be more pleased. In summary, Rick and the owner Jim are gentlemen and scholars (this is the highest praise I could think of). True men of their words. I think it's safe to say that they are men of integrity.
