    Lovely landscaping this cloudy morning.

Of all KoA we've been to, this is probably the family-friendliest! The sluice display at the store is a site in itself, almost as much fun as the sluice itself. The water balloon splash zone is incredible, and the playground is huge. The pool is a good size, and there's a light up tractor ride at night. The park itself is lovely. T-dawg and other staff were pleasant, and some with rainbow mohawks cuts. It's a great getaway, whether you're local or from afar. Michigan wine is a cultural destination, so if you're from afar this park has a few bottles in the case, saving you a stop. It looks like the park is installing more pull-through sites, so we hope to return some day! The laundry wasn't glamorous, but the machines were working and the office was happy to make change for quarters. The bathhouse, a koa standard, has some updates, and was clean. In all, this was a perfect place to have fun and recharge!

It was our first time camping so I don't have a lot to compare it to but we had a great time. They had a lot of activities for our grandson. The lots are a little to close for my taste. I would prefer a little privacy. Very nice people run the place.

This is a tough park to review. I liked certain parts and really disliked other parts. First, the good: If you're looking for a camping experience away from it all and out in the country amongst trees, this is the place. Lots of activities and things to do for the children...pool, goats, an old fire engine, paint ball rifles, lots of roads for bicycles, a huge jump pad, etc. Great tent areas that were roomy and nestled in the forests. A few real nice cabins. Loved the campfire smells. Great owner, friendly, sharp and attentive. Trash pickup. Got nice and quiet after the weekend crowd left....to be expected in any park. The not-so-good: Not your usual KOA with concrete pads and extra roomy sites and sparkling picnic tables. Ours was unusable as were the ones on either side of use. Sites were too close, I should've asked for a different site. All sites were back-in, even though many were very long. Some really trashy long-term coaches, first as you went to your site and others back in the back end of the park. Cannot understand how KOA lets this be a part of their brand. Not a convenient location to see any sites nearby. Not passing judgement on the park just passing my observations along...because I somewhat liked it. However, we will find another place next time.

The staff was very helpful, the bathrooms were clean and the weekend hayrides were a blast. Can't wait to book our next trip!!

Service is terrible - rude employees. We felt very uncomfortable staying there and spent most of the time in our trailer.

The campground itself was pretty nice- bathrooms were clean, pool was good, the paintball gallery was cool, jump pad & goats-- all fun.

I had the privilege to change in the bathroom, where a gaggle of girls walked in talking loudly about making out with different boys and hooking up. When I came out of the stall, these young looking women were in their thong bikinis adjusting their makeup and deciding what they were planning to do next. I remember being their age, but I don't remember bragging about my sexual conquests. Are these the spoils of feminism? Objectifying and gaining body counts like some frat boy club? I suppose if it is, the beach is a good place for it and Grand Haven does have a storied history of late night cruising to pick up walkers along the strip. I remember in my youth listening to our CD player jam to Eminem and Chronic 2001 while we cruised the strip being "cool" and admiring people's car kits with hydraulics and black lit lighting. I remember thinking cut off shorts and a bikini top were revealing then. I suppose, culture keeps pushing the limits and I should just be happy that people are still wearing something over their private parts. Right? My family did love the huge kites. My children loved playing in the waves. Parking can be a bear, but once you find a spot most things are within walking distance including an interesting boardwalk with shops, restaurants and ice cream. Don't miss a walk on the pier to admire the Big Red Lighthouse and see if a lucky fisherman caught anything.

They do have permanent sites and they have their own pool and clubhouse. They pick up your garbage every morning. On weekends they sometimes have music and food that you have to pre order. We did not par take. EVERYONE was so nice and friendly. EXCEPT FOR THE OLD GUY THAT GOT OUT OF THE POOL TO CLIP HIS TOE NAILS AND LEFT THEM NEXT TO HIS CHAIR AT THE POOL‍ Lots of dogs which I loved! Sunny Brook crossed our radar so we booked 3 nights at an owners site. As life would have it, we need to cut our trip short for a family (eldery parents) situation for 2 nights, instead of 3, at Sunny Brook. Elaine explained to us, very firmly and matter of factly, that they will nor refund or give consideration for the 3rd night. As avid RVers, I find that odd. We are not in the habit of reducing our trips or canceling but, I find the matter of fact-Ness and non consideration unappealing.

There's a fantastic "Lodge" type building with a full kitchen and bathrooms up at the top of the hill that can be rented for weddings or large family reunions. They offer volleyball areas, kayak rentals and camping spots. You can get spots where you can park with water and electricity, or you can get more primitive spots where you need to hike in. Most spots have a cement fire pit. It's very family friendly with a nice little store for camping supplies, shirts or frozen treats. There's a nice, clean bath house and Port-a-John's for people who don't mind using those. For people who don't like campers or tents, Wabasis offers cabins and a cottage. The cottage has four bedrooms, a well stocked eat-in kitchen, living room, TV, rowboat and a bath. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has two twin beds and one bedroom has a single twin bed. Someone could also sleep on the couch, and we have even had kids sleep on the love seat. The cabins offer two bedrooms, with a small kitchenette/couch but NO bathrooms. The cabins are clean and spacious for a family of four. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other offers two sets of bunk beds. There is a couch in the cabins for an extra person. Both the cabins and the cottage are pet-friendly. We enjoy camping and have camped at Wabasis with tents, and our camper. In the fall we usually rent the cottage or a cabin, depending on what's available and have all the kids and grandkids come for a long weekend. There are trails to hike, fishing, and boating.
