This was our first time staying at Jellystone and overall we had a really fun weekend! We have a 3 and 5 year old, and there was honestly no shortage of things to keep them busy. The app was awesome because it made it so easy to see all the crafts, activities, and events happening throughout the day, so we never felt like we were missing out. The campground itself was well cared for. The pool was clean, the showers were nice, and I can't even explain how much we appreciated the air conditioned bathrooms after being outside in the summer heat. One of our favorite little surprises was the cartoons at night. It was such a simple, nostalgic touch that made the evenings feel special... even if the young staff had a battle figuring out the DVD player. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the flies. OMG... there were SO many flies that it made hanging around our campsite pretty miserable at times. It was also pretty expensive for a tent site. That said, when you factor in everything that's included for kids, I can definitely see where the value comes from. We'd absolutely come back, just with a lot more bug spray next time! read more

Site selection is great, park is well maintained. Amazing place for families. The activities with the characters every day were so cute. Amenities that are free, like the pool and two jump pads, are in good condition. Loved that the pool has a zero entry for younger kids. Activities you could pay extra for were unique. My kids favorite thing was actually the large playground right by our site. They probably spent the most time there! Convenient that the campground is only 10-12 minutes away from downtown South Haven and South Beach (they have lifeguards!). Three Blondes Brewing and Admiral Jack's were the restaurants we went to and highly recommend. read more

We love this campground. We love the Jellystone Yogi bear chain of campgrounds and this one in particular. This one has jumping pillows, playgrounds, a good heated pool. The unique things it has are cool bikes (3 wheels, that balance on their own) that you can pay extra to use. Also you can pay extra to have Yogi bear bring your kids milk and cookies and read them a bedtime story. That's amazing. We stayed in a deluxe 2 room cabin and it was great. It was close enough to the bathroom. read more

We've been coming here for years, first as tent campers, then as RVers with & without our grandkids. Great Fun. This past week we had a "for old times sake" cabin stay. We were at a yogi bear cabin that has a comfortable queen bed in a back room, a second room with 4 bucks, and a cotton in the living/dining area. It's camping in that it's not squeaky clean, you have to bring linens, towels, etc. Some cook wear is provided and plates, cups, & silverware. Bring sticks for s'mores & fire starters. Firewood is nicely cut but 8+/bunfle. Really burns well. There are no leftover things like salt/pepper or coffee--bring it all. I didn't even get one garbage bag. Come prepared & you'll have fun. Ceiling fans were a lovely surprise. As noted, some staff is pretty green--we never could figure out if laser tag was available. It's a fun place, the pool is cold, and the ice cream is yummy. read more

Took my son (8) and niece (14) to this Jellystone Park for the weekend on a Christmas in July themed weekend. We arrived Friday evening and left late afternoon Sunday. It was pretty busy when we first arrived, but Sunday was opposite. It was quiet and peaceful Sunday. We had the bear appearances for tuck in, present delivery, and donut delivery. The bear appearances make the stay. We absolutely loved it. All the kids start getting excited and yelling when they see the bears. Over the weekend, the kids got to see all the characters. Their favorite thing was the wax hand. They also loved the foam party on the hill. Shev was AMAZING. She was pretty much doing everything and SO KIND. Never seemed annoyed or impatient. It was really hot out and they were short staffed on Sunday because of people calling off. They were rushing to set up the next event for the kids (slip and slide kickball) when we walked up for an appt we booked on the website for wax hands. The girls had no idea this was booked online. I think that needs to be addressed because it put a lot of stress on everyone involved. Shev got all the stuff out for the wax hands and helped the kids so patiently. Did not one time show any kind of irritation. This is the type of person you want to be at a family place. The cabin was perfect and we had a hot tub which is what attracted me to this location. We will be trying out other locations since they all have different things! Looking forward to it. Great place and love keeping Yogi going with the next generation. read more

This is our third trip here. I know it's the beginning of the season, but, the employees are under trained. I'be had three incidents where I tried to pay for more items and they don't know how. I've had two incidents where I was told only the manager could complete the item, yet, the manager is in town or not answering their radio. Again, I know it's early in the season, but, start with your veteran employees. I have five days remaining on this stay, I'll report back at the end. read more

My husband and I stayed for two nights in the Lil Bear Cottage during Jellystone's Christmas in July celebration. We could not be more impressed! The cottage is very clean and had everything we needed. This cottage came with running water in the kitchen and a bathroom with toilet and shower stall. We opted for the linen package which included linens and blankets for the bed, kitchen wash cloth and towel and two hand towels, bath towels and wash cloths. The campground is clean and very well maintained. They have plenty for the kids to keep them busy including scheduled daily activities. Download their app so you can keep on top of everything happening. They also offer a wide array of character experiences. You can schedule a fresh cookie bear delivery in the evening or a fresh donut bear delivery in the morning. We chose a donut bear delivery and the donuts were delivered still warm! They were delicious! Every single employee we encountered from South Haven Jellystone was very friendly and accommodating. We can't wait to visit again! read more

Typical of every Jellystone we've been to, there are a variety of activities for all ages of kids (and adults). The unique thing about this particular Jellystone and the reason we chose this one was the laser tag arena. Staff were friendly, but not all of them were knowledgeable other than for the specific area they were working. For the most part, staff seemed young and new to the campground. They seemed to be short staffed, which is currently typical of most businesses. The young lady (I forgot her name, I meant to write this a month ago) we ran across the most running the various kids programs was the most knowledgeable and helpful. We would definitely come here again, maybe later in the season. read more

We camp here about three times a year. For the kids - they love it!! For the adults - bring your wallets. The nightly rate is pricey which is fine because there is a pool, bouncy pillow, activities for kids, etc. But from there it can get costly to $6 a firewood bundle, bike rental program, some of the crafts, arcade... no, you don't have to do all these things but tough not to for the kids when here. We usually set a dollar limit and let them spend how they want. The bathrooms are clean and kept up. The grounds are very nice. Some of the staff seems to not know what they are doing, but that's expected with a bunch of teens working. Quiet hours at 11-8 and typically enforced. I have not been to other Jellystones but understand they are all pretty similar. read more

Just finished spending 3 nights in a yogi cottage and it was fantastic. The cabin was clean and spacious enough for us and our 2 boys. They had their own room with 2 sets of bunks beds and there was another room in the back with a queen bed. It was nice to have the separation. The park was great also, there was so much fun stuff for the kids to do and it only took 15 minutes and the boys made friends that they played with the entire time. Each day there were activities for the kids to do that were fun and messy and the kids loved. Our youngest won the chocolate milk chugging contest. We had so much fun that we are already starting to plan our trip back next year, this time with some other families so us adults can have as much fun as the kids. There were only a couple of things that we wished were better. On the website it would be nice if they had a complete list of kitchen items in the cottages so we knew what to bring and what not to bring. The beds were very very firm and when you aren't used to a firm mattress it is uncomfortable. The wifi was very spotty in our cottage but did work near the main buildings. And they boys really wished there was a fishing pond on site. read more

We've been here less than 24hrs, and while the RV on site is really nice, they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING here. We are paying almost $800 to stay here for 3 nights, and we are only provided ONE TRASH BAG....we either have to provide our own after that, or purchase them. Every activity besides the giant jumping pillow and pool costs extra. It's just a marketing ploy to make more money, and it's ridiculous. For the price we're paying to stay here, it's absolutely ludicrous that we have to pay extra for literally everything. We will NEVER be back. read more

Do not waste your money or time here. Over priced and over rated. Camping in an open field like a fair ground with little shade and high winds due to no trees is not ideal. Majority of older staff is unpleasant to deal with and act as if you're bothering them when asking for help. $70/day for a golf cart should be illegal. We will never camp here again. read more

This was our 2nd year coming here with about 5 other families and was very disappointed! Lete start by saying that the beds are sadly very uncomfortable and woke up every morning with a very sore back. The futon mattress smelled like urine and we had to bring our own linens. Was given 2 flat pillows for 2 full beds. Our dust pan in our cabin was cracked in half, A/C button was broken, spiderwebs throughout the cabin and arrived to dog poop in front of our cabin and welcomed with daily dog poops for our 3 day stay. The bathrooms/showers were disgusting! Flies everywhere, no soap or toilet paper, men's bathroom smelled of sewage backup and showers were dirty. Our firepit was so deep that our firewood I had to pay for was useless because it would not light. On a positive note, staff was very friendly and helpful and shop and cafe were very clean. Activities for the kids should be geared to all ages and should be changed up from year to year. Not sure we'll go back next year :( read more

We went today at 3pm. Checked in. It was raining that was fine. Then a million bugs were everywhere. We couldn't even eat. They were everywhere. Bug spray did nothing. Our tent began to leak badly. It was raining so hard our waterproof tent was leaking so bad it was soaking our blankets. So we decided at 745 5o pack up we couldn't risk getting sick. 3 kids 2 dogs and my husband and myself packed. Went to check out thinking "we were just there for 4 1/2 hours, we'll get a refund of at least 1 day. Nope. Nothing. Apparently we for fitted our money! I will never again come here. No one watches their kids either. Running all over . Leaving trash everywhere . Complete crap!!! read more

I came here with family (large group) who I see one to two times a year. Many of the people attending have limited vacation time so that time spent is special therefore we planned well in advance. The place is nice however we were met with a surprise when we arrived. For 2 of the 4 days while we stayed in our tiny houses there was several Bobcat mini bulldozers moving earth and manure to prep plots for RV's followed by another machine that allowed workers to spray grass seed. This all occurred about 20 feet from our doors. One of the days the work went just passed 8pm as we gathered around our fire trying to enjoy smores with the kids while the sound of motors carried on close by with the smell of manure. The sound was like being on a full blown construction site. Like I said we planned in advance and were never warned that this would be happening. One of us complained and was offered $200 off of the more than $6000 we spent not counting the food we bought and the tips we gave. I felt that was insufficient considering what we spent and called Kylie the manager. She told me that the person she spoke with was happy with the $200 break. I checked with that member of our party and learned that they were not happy. I left Kylie 2 more messages in an effort to discuss the situation and my calls were never returned. The staff on site were more than nice which helped but a nice staff can't mask the smell of manure or the sound of motors. Had we been warned and offered a break up front I would have known what to expect and set our expectations accordingly. However, showing up and looking forward to relaxing with family only to be met with the sounds of construction, smell of manure and indifference by Kylie the manager I can tell you we will not be back and I will not recommend read more

Amazing experience, well thought out free crafts for kids. All three bears are located here. Hay rides and fire truck rides. Lots to do for teens and press teens. On top of the newest things. Cabin very very clean, above my expectations. Workers super helpful, sang the fun yogi songs we all know and love. I love the size of the park. Please check trip advisor amongst review media. Seems to have the same types of problems with so many 'guests.' Had a terrible time due to treatment from the female owner. Other staff was nice, but very inexperienced. Everything is an up charge (including dated bikes). Yogi was nowhere to be found. My kids didn't care, but my friends child did. When the little boy asked, the above owner, snapped at him. Very very small. No shade. The units were satisfactory. You are paying 'at the beach prices,' but are quite far. It's more farm like. We have a place at Sandy Pines, and won't waste any time coming back. The KOA in covert is slightly further, but more value. And much nicer owners. read more

I want to give this a better review but the campsite has like zero trees. Staying on a farm isn't my idea of camping near Lake Michigan. But plenty for kids to do so it's still a good spot to visit if I'm the area with kids. I'd check out KOA Coloma for similar activities for kids with trees. read more

They could not stop harassing us with the extremely strict enforcement of even the tiniest of their rules. I understand having lots of rules at a place that's specifically designed for children and I'm a fan of safety but this was more than a little off putting. Once told that multiple tents on our RV site were ok we were informed once onsite that there's a 1 tent max- when our one tent failed we were in the process of put up another to switch our stuff and then take down the troublesome tent a staffer returned to scold us for having two tents! We had a 9 week old puppy that couldn't walk without stumbling that we were scolded to leash at all times. They can and will charge you for everything- extra adults on site, extra cars, honey pot usage, you name it. We won't be returning. read more

The park is nice but there are some major limiting factors that could make it a 5 star. Everything is neat and clean but extremely expensive. The staff isn't the most friendly. They are polite but they just don't give you the warm fuzzies. Nice central location for western Michigan, close to several parks, including Saugatuck Dunes State Park, which doesn't have much in the way of on-site camping, but has outstanding hike to dunes and lake shore. Terrific cozy little cabins with an outstanding nearby shower & bathroom facility! Nice store, terrific assortment of rental bikes for kids, and lots of playground equipment for them as well. People were very friendly, and the staff was great! I'd go here again, and very likely will! read more

I mentioned it to some of the staff and they just looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. The cement ring that they put around the pits results in destroying your horse shoes when they hit it. Just doesn't make any sense. The location was a bit out of the way. The facilities overall were more than adequate but as mentioned in many reviews the cable signal was nonexistent. read more

Great campground for families, loved the cafe! Nice to rough it camping but so nice to have an option to have someone else cook a meal if you want. Feels safe for kids to run around, bring their bikes of course. Only negative was dusty gravel roads. Need to put something on them to manage the dust. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great time, and the Cafe has really good food, especially the broasted chicken and pizza. Great place for kids but no real camping. Service at the cafe sucked pretty bad. Overall it was good.

We stayed 2 nights with friends on adjacent sites. There were tons of activities for the kids including a hayride and a dance with Yogi. We used the pool a lot. Really like that the bounce pillow is included in the price as opposed to the other nearby campground. We tried to rent a RC car and had a few battery issues with getting one to work. I ended up getting the manager involved. She involved the owner who really went above and beyond to make things right. My only suggestion would be to always have at least three workers to answer the phones and attend to the guests. Sometimes the lines can get too long with only two workers, at least on Saturdays. read more

This is the end of our fourth season as seasonal renters and we are coming back next year. Our adult children and our grandchildren love this place. We are a family of three with a 4.5 year old daughter and this campground is full of child focused fun! We stayed 3 nights in a Cindy Bear Cabin and loved it. The cabin has a two person glider on the porch, a queen bed, dining table, fully equipped kitchenette (all cooking utensils and fiesta wear), toaster that fits bagels, full size coffee maker, two burner stovetop, small fridge with freezer and full size microwave. There's a flatscreen TV mounted to the wall that has Direct TV. There's WiFi all over the park. The kids bunk room is perfect for two smaller kids, but probably would be uncomfortable for teens. The bathroom has a really nice size shower, air vent, etc. The place has tons of hooks, shelves and outlets everywhere. The air conditioner cooled the entire place and it was SPOTLESS. I'm not into "roughing it" if I'm paying these prices, and I was pleasantly surprised. There are many free activities throughout the day, a saltwater pool with tons of places to hang out, more elaborate activities at very reasonable prices (8.99 for a t-shirt to tie-dye), movies under the stars, food and snack specials at the really nice Cafe all day and a fully stocked store. There's a Walmart and Meijer both 4 miles away, they deliver a HUGE crate of wood that's there when you arrive, if you order it online and it's a much better deal than the bundles they sell at the store. We will definitely be back next year because we felt safe and never felt uncomfortable being a multiracial family (white parents and black child). There were other families of color camping the same weekend, as well. Hope this encourages you to check it out! read more

Another great weekend at this campground with my grandchildren. Love being able to turn the kids loose and not worry about their safety due to security at the gate. Rules are strict but understandably so. The Halloween weekend events are so much fun. The larger haunted house was a nice surprise. It was a great experience as it is every time we camp there. This would have been a great campground for my family of 5, but we weren't warned of these irritating bugs (and when I say bugs I mean like 100 small bugs 24/7 while you eat, set up, try to talk) we couldn't do anything !!! Trying to eat with tons of flying irritating bugs was ridiculous!!!! And it was raining so hard we couldn't even set up, we hadn't slept it was 1 hour after we got there and we asked for our money back because of the rain not letting up and my kids had no shelter, mind you still just got there, but of course no money back! I would understand not giving money back to someone who has slept there the night before but we JUST got there about 45 before that!!! Rude workers! The tone of their voice was like you were a child and they were better than you! I'll never go back and tell everyone we know !!!! read more

Kid friendly park with lots of stuff to do. The staff that were older than 20 were all great, very friendly and very courteous. They do provide great service. The only drawback was all of the young staff members that did not seem to know very much about the functioning of the campground or the services provided. I understand they are young and only there for a summer position, but they should know a little more than they did. Again, all of the staff (older than 20) were excellent and courteous. Staff was rude and some of them were completely clueless. Apparently they charge extra for every person past 2 adults and 4 kids (under 17) and didn't tell us this until we were checking out. So if you're camping with your adult family or friends GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They come by and count people but don't tell you until you leave that you'll be charged extra. Seems pretty scammy and sketchy to me, for some place that purports being family friendly. I guess adults don't count as being families anymore. Also it doesn't say anywhere in their rental info for the cabins "sleeps #" means they will make anyone more than that leave and will still charge you extra even if they leave! If the staff rudeness and bad experience leaving wasn't enough, there's barely any shade at any of the campsites, the rental bikes are in poor shape and nearly impossible to pedal, the food at the cartoon is gross, and the service is even worse. I will never stay here again, and I can probably guarantee none of the rest of my party will either. read more

I would like to start by saying this was very clean camp site and cabins are very nice. I checked in and was very unhappy to hear they were charging me a 150.00 deposit on the cabin and an additional 150.00 on the gold cart I rented, this should have been disclosed to me back in June when I reserved the site. We arrived around 6pm on Friday evening with two pick up trucks to unload our gear, I was yelled at twice to remove my truck from being on the grass, I was only 3' on the grass for a matter of 30 minutes. I also had a third vehicle in from of our cabin that was unloading and was told to move it immediately. I brought my wife with two young children and 4 young adults with me, I work very hard for a living and was looking forward to an enjoyable weekend with my family and friends, (little background). Within the first night we were told to turn off our music at 11pm which was playing off our phone, I was told we were being to loud. We were told you could not drive the golf cart past 11pm as well, which wasn't told to you on any website or when you check in. Saturday was the same situation, yelled at for our music, which was not blaring at anytime, simply low background music. The owner of the site sat out and stared at us for about 30 minutes on Saturday night. To say the least, I felt like a child doing something wrong, it made me very uncomfortable, and I thought it was rude. We took this trip with our family and group of tight friends that all live in the same neighborhood, who also have children. We all work very hard and long hours, we all like to stay up late and enjoy adult beverages when our children are off to bed. This unfortunately was the root of the problem this weekend, my recommendation, if you are a family or group that enjoys a good fire and company with family or friends, you choose a different camp ground. Our last evening at Yogi Bear, the owner thought it was acceptable to driver through the camp ground with his pick up truck with his bright headlights and stir up dust from the dirt road. He proceeded to come back around 1:30am, and state he got a noise complaint, and he said," This is over, you all need to go to bed." He said that to 16 adults, we proceeded to tell him we aren't being loud, and it turned into an argument, the camp site across the street, came over to tell the owner we were not being loud and you should stop harassing these people. Camping is supposed to be about spending time away from the stresses in our lives, no matter how people choose to spend there time doing it, the brochure for Yogi Bear, should have hours that you allowed to enjoy yourselves. After 11pm, its like a confined camp, for the money we spent at this place, I feel like we were treated very poorly. The reason we rented a golf cart was due to our group not being in the same area, so keep in mind, you cant transport any alcohol in a "gold cart" from site to site, if you do, they take the golf cart from you for the remainder of your stay. Michigan is a great state for camping, but seriously ask every question you can from my review prior to wasting your hard earned money at there site. I feel that every campground is a family campground as that's from my experience even growing up. Kids would play all day and when they would go to sleep the parents all stay up enjoying themselves around the campfire. Here at Yogi that is a definite NO NO. I intend on posting this review to Google, Facebook and any other review site I can so people are warned. Finally, check your bank or credit card statements, I had charges on my credit card that I did not approve. read more
