In my opinion, Bristol Street Cafe is an Elkhart staple. It's good, honest, affordable diner food. It's the same quality of food and service every time I go, both being excellent. If you're looking for a fancy and expensive brunch experience this probably isn't the place for you. Like I said before, it's your quintessential home town diner, and that's exactly what I love about it! We are usually in and out in under an hour even when they're packed. This is a standard diner. The bathroom was a one-stall, basic, and clean space. The restaurant is somewhat crowded such that when walking a person needs to step aside to let another person pass. The service was very good. My coffee did not go empty, and the server kept my son's water cup full which is not easy. They were very busy, but we were able to get a table quickly and the food came out in a reasonable time. The food was delicious. We ate breakfast here for the first time and would definitely recommend. Our eggs were cooked to perfection with runny yolks as requested (over easy). The waffle came with WARM maple syrup. I've never had warm syrup from a warmer! They have flavored creamers too for your coffee if you prefer! I needed place to wait out my kids swim practice one very early Saturday morning and this hit the spot. Arrived at 7am and it had a few tables of what looked like regulars chatting with the friendly staff. I had the breakfast skillet, which was crispy sliced potatoes, covered with bell pepper, cheese, sausage (you can also choose bacon or ham) gravy and two eggs. Served with thick Texas toast. It was a healing pile of food and quite good. The coffee came quickly, the food came out fast. Nice place for an inexpensive breakfast! read more

The steak looked as if it had been boiled, literally! The potatoes were a big mess of mush, and my daughters pancakes tasted like bisquick mix. I haven't had this bad of food for awhile. We all took a few bites, paid and left. read more

This is our very favorite breakfast go to spot. We come here several times a week. The owner, Neal, is awesome and will often come out from the kitchen to say hello to his guests. I give this restaurant a 3 star because some of the restaurant itself is outdated and there is a steak option on the menu that when served does not look anything like a steak at all. Stopped in for lunch, won't make that mistake ever again!! Ordered a burger cooked rare and 20 minutes later when they brought it out well done I waited 5 minutes for the waitress that never showed up, left money on table for the cottage cheese since I didn't eat burger and left them a note on the table. Been going here since I was a kid and the atmosphere has always been awesome! The staff either knows you by name or asks and tries to remember! The food is super affordable, yet it tastes great! Biscuits and gravy, omelettes, burgers, chicken strips, it's all good! The servers never let coffee cups, water, or pop on your table get empty! The "Kitchen help wanted" sign outside should have been a clue. My friend and I stopped in on Sunday for a "quick" lunch. The parking lot was almost full but we were seated within a couple minutes.
