Was searching for long time for the right dentist. I couldn't find anything from flushing with a good reviews like alliance dental center. My experience were excellent with alliance dental. As soon as I walked in i was greeted by a nice lady that was working as receptionist. If you're first time being there like me they give you a paper to fill out the form. After I was done filling out the form everything I waited just 10 min to do exam as of X-ray and got to meet a good doctor name DR.LEVANT! Few people on yelp complaint about waiting time but I didn't wait that long. It was quick and fast! Dr. Levant was very helpful, he explained and said will take care of me. I think there's more doctors beside DR. Levant but I recommend him to anyone. I'm scared of dentist, pulling tooth out but it's time to get treated to get beautiful smile again like Dr. Levant said you're still young and your smile suppose to be like that on the pic on his wall. Office and Facility looks great but I received horrible service. I came to my appointment on time but I was seen an hour later but I realized that I am a new patient so there might be a delay in filing/ inputting information. When I was called, the dental hygienist or assistant went straight to x-raying, didn't even had 5min convo about why I am there and what I am going to do today. After X-ray, i had to mention to her that I wanted to consult to doctor about other procedures about my front tooth but she mentioned it was later on, so she went to cleaning my teeth, after splashing my face and some point even my forehead, it was done. 7 min that's it. So now I was to wait for the doctor to see me but after 20 min of waiting, total one hour and 20 min later, but 7 min of minimal teeth cleaning, I was over it and left, also paid $180 for minimal cleaning. It's sad since this place was refereed by my best friend and now I am going to tell her what kind of place she send me to. read more

You know when you've found that place where you are amazed something so good is possible, that you don't need searching (and dreading) no more? This dental office is it. I didn't know it was possible until I came to Alliance, that I could actually like my dentists and leave every visit feeling great. Serious. A walk-through of my most recent routine check up and cleaning goes like this: - I receive an email and txt reminder about scheduling a routine check up/cleaning that's due in a month (love that these guys are up to date using tech to contact/manage/schedule ... all messages have links you can click to schedule an appt, or you could call them, which is what I do) -The front desk receptionist actually knows me, by my voice. I don't even have to mention my name during the scheduling. This totally blows away Siri and Alexa, since my receptionist is not a bot. -I show up at the office, the vibe is I see people who are happy. Not misery. Not disgruntled or couldn't-care-less people (staff) herding in people (patients). I've beat the system on just this. And I'm feeling good already as opposed to mild depression. -I say hi to the receptionist. She checks me in before leaving (her lunch break), but then who do I see? The owner, Mark. We see each other and say hi. -I get called in and this is where I find: the assistants they get (I've been with this office as patient for well over 5 years--they are that good!) always authentically care, do good work (know what they are doing), and because of that I always feel at ease and can trust. -Also inside the dentist room is where I always see new (updated) gears and equipment every few visits. Another vote of confidence. This time I notice the x-ray thingy she places in my mouth are different from ones I had in my prior visit. Most other dental places don't upgrade and you get this feeling of being inside an old and poorly funded city hospital room. -After a less pain than expected cleaning (kudos to the assistant who knows what's she doing, and mea culpa for my less than stellar oral upkeep), I can't quite say but I felt some steps and some materials used in the cleaning are new or updated too. Another vote of confidence. -I take a booklet I had put away between my legs (I'm that comfortable about this place by now, 5+ years of seeing them and trusting them) and just relax and read. I wait for my dentist to come and review any findings of the x-ray. -My dentist comes in not after long. We chat and talk about Valentine's. I had scheduled my routine check up on V-day. Why not? I'm single this time and going to the dentist is not a punishment with this office. I don't need to give myself punishment this time around on Valentine's. -He takes a look of my mouth, asks me about any dental issues I have. I say no. He tells me I'm good I'm ok. I feeeeel Great! I thank my doctor and say bye. -I do a quick restroom, wash up, see and feel my cleaned teeth. I say bye to the receptionist on my way out, feeling great after the visit. I feel happy and think about my kissability. I've moved out of this neighborhood (I was a resident of Jackson Heights) but I still come back here just to see my dentist. This office, like a fair number of dentist offices, arguably uses shady, or atleast unnecessary, practices. They won't see patients for a second visit without forcing them to get x rays. Insurance doesn't cover x rays on the second visit... likely because it's not needed in most people in such a short time interval. I've been to numerous dentists before and they either didn't do x rays this often, or if they did, and I requested that it be skipped, they obliged. Alliance Dental asked me to pay 80 dollars out of pocket for x rays on second visit, even though I got full set of x rays (which cost my insurance and, indirectly, me hundreds of dollars) less than a year ago. I'm young and healthy, and I know that I don't need a second set of x rays so quickly. So I politely said I didn't want the x rays. They said "it's not negotiable", so I had no choice but to cancel my appointment. How can services provided to me be non-negotiable? I'm a patient. In some sense, I'm a customer. I should get to decide what services I want, within reason. I'm sure they'll have their talking points of "best practice" and not wanting to miss anything, but I'm a physician and business owner myself, so I'm well aware of how dentist and physician practices run. My knowledge also allows me to advocate for myself, and exercise my choice to not frequent an establishment if I find something lacking, but more Americans need to exercise this right in healthcare. It's important that we hold providers who use dubious practices, often to enrich themselves at the expense of patients and society, accountable. At the very least, not seeing a young and healthy patient with no major dental problems because they don't want X rays within a year of getting extensive x rays and because they don't want to pay 80 dollars out of pocket, is just unacceptable. Instead of reflexively trying to defend all of your practices, change, Alliance Dental. Change. That's the better route, and you know it. read more

Alliance Dental Center was the best dental experience we have ever had. Their staff and medical professionals are very nice, patient and make you feel welcomed. We wanted a new dentist closer to home and we were lucky because we found the perfect dental center Alliance and the best dentist, Dr. Levant. If you are in need of a good dentist who does a thorough examination and explains and shows you every detail of your dental X-rays and if any work has to be done Dr. Levant is the dentist to see. My hygienist Diana was excellent. I never felt any discomfort while having my teeth cleaned and I have sensitive teeth to cold air. Their receptionist Evelyn is so sweet and greets you with a smile. The center is very neat and clean as well as the atmosphere being calm and friendly. All equipment and machines are clean and sterile. I normally do not write reviews but my experience was worth it! I normally hate dentist appointments but this one was pain-free in so many ways! First I was not bothered by annoying phone calls, a simple text message reminded me of my appointment. When I arrived at the office I only waited as long as it took for paperwork (less than 5 minutes). Both the hygienist and dentist were nice, patient and gentle. Alliance dental is amazing! I have avoided going to the dentist for many years at first of fear that it would be painful then it seemed it had been too long. Yet when I went in with intense pain they were so helpful. I needed a root-canal and was terrified but the doctor was so patient and gentle I felt no pain at all during the procedure. The staff is super friendly their receptionist is awesome friendly and helpful answered all my questions and reassured me I was in good hands. Been coming to Alliance Dental for a couple years until I recently switched to a new location that was more convenient. I was excited to try the new place until I went in for a cleaning and they actually took only one minute to do my cleaning. I came out with my teeth full of plaque still and not clean at all. I immediately booked another appointment with Alliance Dental and came in for a proper cleaning, which takes about 15 minutes and your teeth will actually come out clean. I did not know you could not even take these things for granted anymore. read more

The dentist is friendly. They have modern equipment but they didn't use it on me . I thought I found my dentist but they did a bad root canal and shaved it so small I can't hold a crown ( I understand there is a small chance of failure). Also I had to wait 10 min with my mouth open when the dentist had to look in other rooms for the right material. It didn't work for me (or I had bad luck) might work for you. I decided to give it two stars after being contacted by the manager and making me realize that the place is clean which is a good thing, people here are friendly and I really liked Dr Levant who saw me just to check my tooth he was funny and relaxed me (he didn't do my root canal). read more

In regards to a cleaning/check up, a decent job is done. During my visit, the doctor (who does seem knowledgeable) came in, did what he had to do, and that was it. I would have liked a bit more time to discuss some issues I was having but to his defense I did not bring them up and it was kind of a busy day that time. (bonus- the wait time to get attended wasn't that bad either) In regards to the Zoom Whitening treatment offered, I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND IT at this location. The service and results are very, very poor for such a high price (Groupon has a special for the same treatment, different location at half the price). I had to go to the office 3 times to complete the whole process which definitely defeats the whole 'easiness' of the procedure. The first time I went in I got the bleaching done (which takes more than the 45 minutes advertised) and then I was told I had to come back to get the take home kit set up as a mold of my teeth needed to be done (I still don't understand why the mold wasn't done beforehand that way I would have been good to go). Then, the second time (which was a hassle to set up as their summer hours are not convenient for me) I went in for the mold and was told I would have to come back yet again to pick up the mold in about 5 days. 5 days later after hearing nothing for them, I called and (after being hung up on and calling again) I was told something had been done wrong and I would have to wait at least an additional 3 days. Now, this might be considered a service issue as the doctor did not inform me of this prior to the procedure, but I believe it also conflicts with the results. Some online research I did says that wearing the take home stuff right after you get the bleaching maximizes your results and so obviously due to all the hold up from the service, the results suffered. So basically - if you want something quick done go here but if you want the Zoom treatment be prepared for a longer (and frustrating) commitment. read more

I've had some bad dental experiences in the past so I was pleasantly surprised that a trip to the dentist doesn't have to be painful. I've had a couple of different doctors work with me in this office and all of them have been great - administering as little pain as possible and making sure I'm comfortable with the procedure. I went to Alliance dentist some time ago. After waiting for about 1 hour,the dentist had a look and said I needed a root canal and to speak to the manager for details. The manager starts to tell me about about another tooth which is not troubling me and then said that he would submit my details for approval. I got a denial letter from Denta quest as the manager had asked for root canal, porcelain crowns, and implants and bridges. I had never asked for any of these. The manager does all the talking and they are very expensive if you dont have insurance. I would not recommend anyone to go to this place. They are crooks. read more

Talk about medical malpractice....this place has done it to me. I was there in feb,2013, to get a regular check up on my teeth. The hygienist took the xrays and then she did a cleaning upon my request and then the doctor (Dr. Lavant) came in to do an exam. Upon examining my teeth, he said that I needed a root canal on my lower left molar, which I scheduled an appt for with their specialist. Before leaving the office, I met with their office manager Mark, (dentist's son) who went over the treatment plan and my fees since I have EDP (a discounted fee schedule plan). On my way out I was charged for that day's cleaning to my surprise, since this place is listed on the EDP website as a first cleaning for free provider. When I asked Mark about this discrepency, I was told by him that he will look into this matter and he dosn't know as to why they are listed in such manner. I really didnt want to make a big deal out of it since the money was not that much, even though I should have. On the day of the root canal, I saw their specialist, who was decent and did a fair job for the time being or so I thought. But the specialist did mention that I have an infection there and that he is administering some medication at the site and it's not a big deal. Then I saw their regular dentist, Dr. Lavant, who did the post and crown on me. I went back in 10 days to get my crown placed but it broke while I was on the chair, and the doctor blamed it on me saying that I should have been there before 10 days time, and when I told him that his receptionist had given me an appointment, he didn't say anything. When I asked him that why did the crown break, his answer was that my gumline grew back since I waited 10 days. (mind you I have been to dentists before and to my knoledged all of them are supposed to give you a temporary crown to prevent this from happening and the normal wait time is about 10 days to two weeks. I was never given a temporary crown. So this is where I said to myself that, I will probably not be coming back to this dentist anymore since I didn't like this whole thing. To make a long story short, I was in pain on the same tooth about a month later, so I went back and saw the specialist, who gave me antibiotics and said the infection will go away. IT NEVER DID. I went back two days ago and they took an xray and the doctor Lavant said that you have a chronic infection there, I am going to give you penicillin for 7 days and it will go away. The reason why you have it is because of the hot weather. At this point of time I was really done with him, so I went for a second opinion to an endodontist, who said that the root canal was not done properly and there is one more nerve in ther and that other specialist should have never closed the tooth up before fully draining the infection out and I would need a retreat on the same tooth after I finish my antibiotics....I would never go back there and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone....and to make matters worse, when told that they don't have an answering machine with an emergency contact on it, I was told that if it's an emergency, I should go to the er..... read more

I finally broke down and made a dental appointment after years of only seeking treatment for urgent type dental needs, like a root canal, for more years that I care to mention. I went online to see what dentists were in my area, and who accepted my insurance, and found myself at Alliance Dental Center. I never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. The dentists and staff at Alliance were wonderful and understood my fear of having what seemed to me, an overwhelming amount of dental work done, and took great care to ensure that I was comfortable. Their sign says "Gentle Dentistry," and in spite of my fears, indeed it was. By the end of my fourth and last appointment I was comfortable and know that I will go back regularly in order to maintain my dental health. I will never love going to the dentist, but at least now I no longer dread it and know that I will be taken care of there in a way that best meets my needs. read more
