NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! I would give NEGATIVE STARS if I could. My issues were as follows: 1. In separating rooms that need work from the others, the hangs company sheets of plastic, but does so VIA HUGE STAPLES DRIVEN INTO THE WALL. This was NEVER made clear to me when the consult was done. 2. The time management was AWFUL. Because of lack of initiative, test results were sat upon, and I had to sit for two more days that I should have with no access to the front half of my house. Being a private music teacher, this meant two days of missed work. Moreover, it meant that I had to change my schedule to accommodate their laziness. This included having to change a plane ticket for travel so that I was able to be here when the crew came to tear down. NEVER use this company. Not only were they inefficient, they were totally unhelpful in trying to find a solution. And for the ridiculous costs associated with the job, it is not worth it. read more

I have worked with Ed Work for 8 years. Alliance is a great company. I previously Recommended them when I was a consultant due to their flexibility, pricing, and their ability to perform heat treatments for mold and water. We hired Alliance Environmental Group to remove the asbestos from our ceilings and we were very disappointed. I strongly advise anyone against using Alliance for any services they offer. Don't be fooled by their estimate. The estimate does not include costs of the repair work due to the damage they caused during the project. The damage can be quite excessive and there is no way of knowing how much the repair costs will be. Alliance will not be responsible for the repair costs. We lost $800 to repair the damaged sheetrock after they scraped the asbestos from our ceilings. When we asked for reimbursement, their response was that they are not responsible for the damage because it was stipulated in the contract. There was no expression of apology on their part. They simply reference the portion of the contract, stating that they will not be responsible for any repair costs due to the damaged caused by their project. We did not expect excessive damage. Unless you are willing to pay to restore the ceiling after they damage it, I strongly recommend that you find another company and be sure to read the fine print. For your information, it took our contractor four days of work to restore our ceilings. Our contractor charged us less because he was already doing other work for us. Normally, if you hire a contractor to do this type of work, it could easily cost you at least $1000, depending on the extent of the damage. read more

Alliance Environmental may be okay at removing asbestos, but they suck at removing bed bugs. Or, I should say, they suck at standing behind their warranty. David Mouser will set up conditions by which he will claim that the warranty was invalidated. He is a sleazy liar. Not only that but his supervisors are completely unprofessional. They made no attempt to remedy the situation. Instead they allowed David to make ridiculous statements and claims that made no sense, and then threatened to put a lien on my property if I didn't pay the full amount of the invoice. My intention was to pay them the amount owed minus the cost I incurred to retreat the unit. When a person is so desperate to maintain an illusion that he is so wonderful, that he resorts to fabricating lies, he would certainly be capable of posting fraudulent reviews on Yelp. read more

Awful Awful Awful. Dave came out for an estimate and lead me to believe my asbestos abatement would be easy and hassle free. Boy was that wrong. FIrst, it took me 5 days to get ahold of Dave to schedule my abatement. He scheduled the wrong time for his crew to get here, luckily I could buzz them in remotely, but his crew didn't come in, instead they said I refused entry. SO, they came back the next day. Did there thing and left around 1pm, no instructions about what to do or when they would be back to pick up their giant equipment or where my abatement stood. I continued to call Alliance to try and figure out a pick up time. They would never give me an actual time, instead showed up unannounced twice! Luckily, I was home the second time and already had their equipment removed from the house. Seriously, don't do business with them. Also, they didn't even complete the scope of work I originally asked for. SO AWFUL read more

I'm very impressed with this firm. Edward Work was the PM I talked to who provided me with a quick and fair quote to remove and dispose my old 800 pound boiler that was lined with asbestos. Their crew came on time, worked quickly, and left the place cleaner then they found it. I'm very satisfied and would recommend them to anyone in the Rockridge or Piedmont area. read more

I contacted this company the day before Christmas, two days after I discovered that I had black mold poisoning and moved out of my home. My initial contact was professional and courteous. They sent someone out to look at the mold problem the first week in January and assured me that they could deal with the problem the following week and that it would only take two or three days of work. What ensued was a nightmare. All total, it took the company 2 MONTHS to complete the work, during which time I had to remain out of my home. When I attempted to address the situation several times, I was treated very poorly. Each time another team was sent out to my home they never completed the work they were supposed to do. I had to continually call back and complain and get more people out to redo the job. This happened at least 5 times! They failed the independent test two times. The first time, the test guy wouldn't even DO the test because he could tell from the look and smell of things that the work was far from done. I could write pages about everything that happened. I finally talked to the supervisor and told him they needed to get their act together and get the work done in a satisfactory manner or I was going to fire them and hire someone else. At that point, he denied any responsibility on his part of the part of his workers, made excuses and EVEN blamed me for the problems! I decided to go to the top and spoke to the owner of the company. He took 3 days to return my call and then eventually agreed to give me a discount for the work. I spend over $4000 in rent and lost income in my home business...they really should have paid ME! I settled on the $1310 charges instead of the original $2100. I warn EVERYONE to not even consider working with this company! The independent tester even told me that they have seen this company's work before and they have had frequent problems with them. DO NOT use Alliance Environmental! read more

Had I known they would completely ignore repeated requests for an explanation, I would have gone with another company. When I withheld $200 pending an inspection, they threatened to file a lien. I can't rate their service because its taken two weeks to get them to call me back. To be specific I called on a Friday to inquire about air duct cleaning and get an estimate. The person I spoke to was a subcontractor for Alliance since it appears that Alliance doesn't do the airduct work themselves. In any case the call Friday concluded in my being unable to assess whether or not I had asbestos in my attic and so I was told i needed a pre-service inspection. The person I spoke with was unable to schedule this (why? no clue) so I was to receive a call back by Monday. Monday comes no call in fact the an entire week passes and no call back. An email and two voicemail messages later same person I spoke to calls me back and says they will look into it. Two days later a woman from Alliance calls me back and schedules the inspection for Friday (two weeks from initial phone call). Friday comes.. I clear my calendar to be home and no one shows. Appointment was for 2:30-3pm (window). I call 10 min after 3pm.... suprise! No one answers. Left a message it's now end of day Monday following that call that NOONE showed for the Friday appointment and no return call. read more

Mold remediation done without a dehydrator, although they said they would be using one. Ignored the protocol for air filtration during the work. Surprise, the clearance test failed! Used noxious chemicals without informing us or asking if we were sensitive. the kitchen remained partitioned with machines runniing for almost a full extra week than would have been necessary if a competent, accountable company had been used. When they finally brought in the dehydrator, they sealed off all the moldy wet areas so that the air clearance test would pass, without regard for the people who had to live with their mistakes. Finally, they said they would charge extra to keep the scrubber actually working on the moldy air once the seals were opened up. Not recommended!! read more

Negative stars! Used this company for aspestos removal of the home. After their job was complete, I noticed that some of my personal tools were taken from my garage. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, that they could have mistaken my tools for theirs, I called the company and spoke to several people, including "managers" and "supervisors" who stated that my claim could not be substantiated! The house was sealed for 2 days (I couldn't even get in while they were doing the removal) so I don't see how my tools could have disappeared into thin air! They also don't guarantee their own work and require you to hire your own independent contractor to conduct a clear air test to ensure that the work is done right. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

I had a horrible experience. I will start with the positive. Jerome Black, the project manager at Azusa location was quick to respond with a bid of $24K+ to remove all asbestos on my house after a fire. Once hired, he increased the price claiming that he made a mistake on calculation the price. I negotiated to pay him an extra $2,050 making the job close to $27,000. When he finished the job he left the house completely unsecured by taking down the boarded panels on the house that had been used to secure the house after the fire. All the boards were left on the floors with the house completely open. When we asked him to put the boards up again he refused stating that it was not his job. He reluctantly put one up after a long dispute. Everyone that came to house to give me bids pointed out that he left two big asbestos pipes that should have been removed. When we asked Mr. Black to come back and remove it as it was part of the bid, he refused to do it unless we paid him another $1,000. He said that those pipes were not on his bid. As a homeowner we are not trained to know what is asbestos, so that is why we hired Alliance environmental to remove it all. He claimed that in the contract it states that they don't guarantee that they will remove it all, however these two big pipes were obvious to all that it was asbestos, but I'm a single female homeowner who does not have any knowledge in this matter. He was also rude about it and said that he lost money on this job. I never asked him to lower his price when he have me his initial bid. This company has been calling me every week for the last three months pushing their services. I have repeatedly asked them to remove our name from their calling list but they never do. I have told them repeatedly that I will never employ them because of their intrusive and obnoxious calling but that doesn't faze them. I don't know how to make them go away. read more

I hired this company for Asbestos removal. They were on time. They finished on time. My only concerns were as following. 1- On first day, the crew finished 3 rooms. On second day, one of the crew members was a different technician. So, there was lots of damages to the master bedroom, dining room and entrance ceiling. I complained to the manager but got no where. 2- The masking tape on the front door ripped off portion of the paint. they said these things happen and again I got no where with this. 3- After signing the contract, it was harder for me to get hold of the manager who was in charge of my project, to answer questions. He politically answered my complaints by pone where he would use email for my ordinary questions. They did not reimburse me for those damages just to make a customer happy. They have covered their butts in the contract and you can not do a thing about it even if they were sloppy. read more

Steer clear of this outfit. They didn't finish the job by the time specified on the contract. They left all the electrical wires they disconnected uncapped with bare conductors exposed. Poor communication at the beginning and end of the job. Complaints fell on deaf ears. Alliance has no concept of customer service whatsoever. read more

When we started a major home improvement project, we were caught off guard when the asbestos survey told us to do abatement. We quoted a couple of companies and were shocked by the price tag. Fortunately, our general contractor referred us to Alliance of Bay Area. Their manager Ed quickly came in and did the measurement. Their quote was much more competitive than what we had got. So we went ahead with them. Since the abatement intertwined with other parts of our project, Ed coordinated closely with our contractor on all kinds of details. We stopped by the house a couple of times during the abatement. The site was always professionally enclosed. Several days later we were informed that asbestos-containing materials had already been removed and we could go ahead. We couldn't be happier with the whole experience. read more

Initial contact with Alliance was excellent. It was a small job of Asbestos removal in 3 rooms of our home. Good price. In removing a ceiling fan, they dropped it and broke one of the blades/paddles. No replacement parts available, so we had to replace the entire fan, $70. Also, their exhaust fan used to trap air-born asbestos was not directed out of the window as we were told it would be, nor was it left on for 24 hours after the job as we were told it would be. There were a lot of excuses as to why they couldn't do this, but the fact of the matter is, it didn't happen. There was a major communication issue between the asbestos removal team, and the team that removes the materials from the job site, takes down the plastic sheeting, and so on, in terms of the time -frame when the materials removal tean were to show up. I reported this to the person who set up the job, he immediately came out and took photos of the broken fan and brought a removal team with him. All materials were removed quickly. In trying to recover our costs of the $70 fan, I have yet to receive a response to 2 emails sent to the organization. Alliance needs to drastically improve their communications and response times, pay attention to detail, followup with their clients in a timely manner. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE unless you are prepared for less than professionalism. My condominium just used this service today, and they were parked in our private parking spot, which where we live has no street parking. Upon approaching them to please move their truck, I was met with less than enthusiastic responses. Such as "And?" , "what do you want?" and more. Profanity included. Once I told them I would be calling their company to complain about their horrific attitude, they both blocked my car in and started filming and curing at me , refusing to still move thei truck. Once I got off the phone with ALLIANCE who said they would handle the situation, they finally moved their truck. Then started talking bad to me. When I responded they started filming me and claiming they did nothing wrong and they were just hanging out. Their supervisers then took their side and they started taking pictures of my car and filming me. I WOULD NEVER USE THIS SERVICE OR TRUST THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR HOME. I feel bad writing a negative review but since this is concerning health and safety I wanted to share my experience. If you have limited time, my main take away is to GET A THIRD PARTY TO REVEIW/TEST THE ABATEMENT WORK. This costs more money and is one more thing to coordinate but it is is obviously critical to ensure your home has not been compromised with asbestos. I recommend ProTech for 3rd party testing - they were great. Here are the other issues I had with Alliance: 1) estimate took long time, 2) information I provided on 3rd party testing and site access not shared to correct people internally, 3) job failed 3rd party visual inspection, 4) "project manager"/estimator did not have information on status of job or process and was unprofessional when I expressed my concerns (she actually told me to "calm down" when I told her I would be "disappointed" if what she was telling me about the cause of visual failure was not true - which was of course the case, 5) paint significantly damaged on bedroom door frame. I am just glad it is over...I hope and pray that my house is now free of asbestos (air tests passed so it should be fine) but it was a very painful process to be honest. I will give Ed, the Branch Manager, credit - once I got him engaged - communications and job completion went much more smoothly. read more

I am absolutely appalled by their "professionalism". My neighbors had a leak that came into my house in a tiny closet. The insurance hired this company to come out and do an estimate. She was friendly and really nice. When I called to tell them I'd like them to do the work, they made an appointment with me. The day they were suppose to come out, no one showed up! I called and they said they didn't have me down, so the receptionist transferred me to the gal that did the estimate. She claimed that she had been trying to get a hold of me for days to get a contract sent to me and a down payment. I received no called or no voicemails. She then asked me, well what's your name? I finally understood that she had been calling the neighbor and had it under their name, if she in fact called at all. We rescheduled for the following wednesday and said someone from the office would call me to send me the contract. Tuesday, the day before they were suppose to come out, I had to contact them to get the contract. They also wanted to charge my credit card instead of sending in a check. The day of the work, the guys showed up and they were quick and I appreciated that they were on time and only took one hour. Just as I thought it was all over, it came time for another business to come out and test to make sure the asbestos was gone. No one called me to set up an appointment and the following morning someone showed up and I was not prepared for them. The following day, Alliance called to charge me the remaining balance (of course they knew my number then). She told me that the guys would come and take the plastic down. No one showed up. I honestly would never use this company or recommend them to anyone. I'm pretty sure they over charged me as well. This company is terrible! read more
