They covered $4,000, our responsibility was $1,300. I couldn't be happier. It was a seamless process from beginning to end. This is our first time using Trupanion since we enrolled when our pup was 2 months old. It has more than paid for itself. The process was unbelievably smooth, start to finish. I took my kitten in for sneezing--her first vet visit--and got hit with a $215 bill. That's just one example. On top of that, the insurance doesn't cover allergies or anything they decide counts as a pre-existing condition. After that, I called to say I wasn't planning to keep the policy. The rep said the first month was free, and that if I wanted to continue, I just needed to call. I never called because I didn't like their terms. He assured me the policy would only continue if I called in, and otherwise, it would cancel automatically. August 3rd was the cutoff. By August 5th, I noticed a charge on my account and was totally confused. One of my other pets had been dropped, but my kitten was still showing as active. I called to clear things up, explaining that I never called to continue. The person on the phone said, "We still have your kitten's policy active because you never canceled it!" What kind of mixed messages are they sending? I asked them to check their call recordings. The next rep tried to tell me I'd used the policy--because I paid the full $215 vet bill! She then claimed my deductible was $150, not $250. That's simply not true. They didn't pay a cent, and my deductible was supposed to be $250. It's infuriating that they get away with this stuff. They change the rules based on the situation. I hope this company goes out of business. They're dishonest and seem to change their rules to fit the situation. I told them I wasn't paying, but they still charged me $100.13 for one month! They need to be held accountable. I disputed the charge for three reasons: first, they never paid anything and their deductible changed from $150 to $250 the day I took my cat in! Secondly, they lied about the deductible; third, the "lifetime deductible" they promised turned out to be a separate deductible for each illness. So if my pet got sick with five different things, I'd have to pay $500 for each one. That's outrageous. And they keep insisting it's a "lifetime" deductible, even though it resets every time my pet gets a new diagnosis. So if my cat had an ear infection one month ($200 out of pocket), and a respiratory infection the next, that first $200 doesn't count towards the next deductible. If I had to go in for four different illnesses, I'd end up paying $2,000 and still not reach my deductible--because each illness has its own. It's a complete scam. Read the fine print. This company is a master at ripping people off. Stay far away. They're unethical, and everyone you speak to seems to make up their own rules. As many people have said, they always have the perfect excuse to get out of paying. I wish I read the negative reviews before jumping on this stressful wagon!!

I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD. AVOID HEALTHY PAWS…read more Do not use Healthy Paws. I am absolutely disgusted with this company. I have insured multiple dogs with them, and my current dog has been insured since he was 3 months old. He is now 7. They started out great, but over the years they have continually found reasons not to cover things, while my premiums have more than doubled. I was even forced to drop from 90% coverage to 50% because the cost became ridiculous. My dog now has severe gum disease and needs multiple teeth extracted. A couple of years ago, Healthy Paws specifically told me that while they didn't cover dental cleanings, they did cover extractions. Now, after years of paying premiums, they have apparently "tightened the language" and told me extractions are only covered if the tooth was injured in an accident -- such as being hit by a car or getting hurt in a dog fight. My dog has a serious disease, and they won't cover the treatment. And their standard answer when you call about coverage is essentially: Go ahead and spend thousands of dollars, submit the claim afterward, and we'll tell you if we feel like covering it. That isn't insurance. Gum disease can literally be fatal - how open earth can they not cover that? It's in the words - "DISEASE". I have been a loyal customer for many years. I have paid them thousands of dollars in premiums. And now that my dog actually needs significant medical care, they have found another way to avoid paying. I will NEVER insure another pet with Healthy Paws, and I strongly urge everyone else to stay away. Sadly I am stuck, because rarely do new insurance companies take on a more "senior" dog. Absolutely disgraceful. Avoid this company at all costs.

I was paying $450.00 for all three of them a month in 2025. " I get 2 are seniors. I even get a yearly increase. But they didn't raise it so much when my now 11 yr old was 8. Now even the 8 yr old is considered senior by healthy paws. Not by my vet, but by the insurance company. I am stuck as all have previous conditions. I do like the idea of changing the tier I am in. That might help. I have never had a problem with being paid on time. I do have to say getting in to use the app is no longer user friendly. It's actually quite a pain.

My rates for this very minor collision went up 90%. I talked with my broker and he said that this was the best he could do and there was no way to bring the cost down. When I talked about this with someone close to me, they recommended I give Tyson a call, and so I reached out. Tyson was able to get me almost the exact same coverage for a very small increase over what my rate had been before my accident. Literally went from a 90% increase to about 15%. He spoke with me at length about what the new policy included and took the time to make sure I understood everything before we made an agreement. On top of the big benefit to my wallet, I recently was out of town renting a car in Las Vegas when I noticed the agency required a copy of my insurance policy (not just the card) in order to avoid having to pay for the rental agency's insurance. I reached out to Tyson who immediately sent over the policy after also suggesting a temporary addition to my policy that would add additional common sense protections in case I was involved in a wreck in the rental car. The addition was just a couple bucks, but would cover things that could potentially be a huge cost in case of another fender bender. That's above and beyond type service already. He even called me about three weeks later to cancel the addition we had added so it wasn't left on the policy with no benefit. Absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for coverage that comes with great customer support.

While shopping for auto insurance right now, I see that my review isn't on here from January 12,…read more2022 for this location of a horrible experience I had over the phone trying to get a quote from them so here it is: I called the Geico Lakewood office off of Pacific Highway and two of the employees there were so rude to me. The reason for my phone call was due to finding out information about auto insurance because I requested a quote online about a week or two ago from the above date. The first one named Griselis kept telling me that they don't cover it and when requesting information about it, she told me that she's not allowed to give out any information about the policy you have at Geico. She presumed to tell me after hanging up on me the first time when I called back that it must be something new about Geico being a policy of choice for DoorDashers from what I found online. I did agree that it was not a Geico source, but it was one of the reasons why I called this office to find out more information along with the fact that I just got off the phone with DoorDash as well. It took awhile to get through what I was talking about to her because she just kept talking over me. Then she passed me over to the supervisor, which I didn't get her name (during shift at 3:30pm on 1/12/22), stating right off the bat without letting me speak that they do not offer any insurance options for DoorDash or Uber or anything else. I asked to see it in writing and she said that she's not allowed to give me that information because it's employee information. I told her that I wasn't asking that and had to keep repeating myself because she refused to listen to anything that I was stating that I did not request for personal information of anyone. I simply wanted to know the policy and see where it states that and she said that proprietary information is not for people who aren't customers. I told her it's a right for me to know your policy as a potential customer or a customer as well. She kept telling me that she couldn't give that information. I do not appreciate how I was spoken to and talked over. This is discriminatory behavior and with no proof in writing anywhere that this is how your employees are supposed to be treating people. It is standard customer service 101 to not behave this way to customers and I will not tolerate it. Yesterday (from the above date), another representative named Bal-di (not sure if I spelled it correctly) who I called back in regards to my online quote told me that he was able to get personal insurance while working for Uber and didn't say anything instead of purchasing commercial insurance according to their policy. I told him that this is fraud, it's illegal. This should not be promoted to potential customers and given the additional experience today, I'm seeing it as a pattern of response according to your training as they say it is that when a customer asks a question, it's okay to respond to them in a harsh manner. I hope that you will do something about this. Your website mentions that you do offer Rideshare insurance as an option as opposed to what was mentioned to me on the phone that there is nothing you guys can do.
