Original: It's been one week since my car was picked up. I have been trying to find out when I will get my car and no one at the company seems to know. I was told I would get my car within five days of being picked up. When I called to speak to the individual I've been working with I was told, yet again, that he was busy, so I asked the person I was speaking to if he could help me. After expressing my concern and disappointment about why I couldn't get a straight answer about my car, the individual was extremely rude and asked me if I wanted him "to snap his fingers to get me an answer", refused to give me his name, then hung up on me. I have sent emails and called back multiple times and no one has yet to help me. This company is a disgrace and has no customer service skills. Had my car shipped cross-country for a move. I found Allied to be very cold (except for one very kind and personable person whose name I won't mention out of courtesy to his privacy) whenever I communicated with them. The first person I talked to was nice enough at the beginning of the process, but once the transaction was made and throughout the transport process they were very cold over the phone, not communicative and overall rude. Another client's review said the same thing- friendly at the start, then once they charge my card for almost $1400 they went MIA- no follow-ups, poor communication, treated like dirt. I was very flexible about my dates, but naturally had some concerns that the pickup date was changed last-minute as I had made prior arrangements for that date. Needless to say they weren't very nice about it saying everything is tentative, which I get now, but again they were nasty about it and they didn't have to be when I raised concern/was obviously stressed about it arranging everything from afar. Also, there was some minor damage as a result of the transport. Allied is easily frustrated and they do not have the skills to handle client concerns/needs constructively, and do not know how to deescalate situations. I always felt apprehensive about calling them about my car because their contempt was palpable each and every time. During the pickup the driver became highly defensive when I pointed out the damage, so I assured him multiple times that I knew that it wasn't his fault, I was just concerned about the damage and how to proceed as anyone would be. Poor guy- trucking is stressful as it is. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend Allied from my experience because of a) how I was treated in a sub-human way on more than one occasion, b) the lack of communication skills, c) the damage from transport, albeit minor. Allied Auto Transport did not let me down. I spoke with Dave Bailey on the phone initially and he was nothing but professional and friendly. He even remembered me when I called back 10 days after my initial inquiry. I had a very tight schedule with my move and Dave and his team were so accommodating. They got my car from Los Angeles to Houston in just 5 days AND it was over the 4th of July weekend. Most other places told me it would be better to ship after the holiday so it was great that they were able to meet my request (I didn't want to be without my car for 1 whole week in Houston - not really a walkable city in July, lol). I think we all have an expectation or perfect timeline of when we'd want our car to ship and arrive, so it was really great not to have to stress about this detail. I did have to take out a couple boxes from my back seat because the driver was a little worried about the weight in the car, but I can understand where he was coming from. He was very professional about it. Once the car left, I didn't hear from the driver again until the day before the arrival in Houston, which was great! Drop off time for the vehicle was perfect. My car looked great on arrival, no scratches or dings or other issues. No added fees on the tail end of the trip either. What you are quoted is all that you will pay. I was soooo overwhelmed when looking for a company to transport my car and the reviews on other websites made it even more confusing and scary, so in case anyone is looking for a few general tips, here are mine.... 1. Don't try to book too early, i.e. months in advance if you are just moving your car within the US. They seem to start looking for trucks as soon as they make the reservation, so it may only take about 5 business days to secure a trucking company and get the pick-up arranged in 24-72 hours. 2. Try and be flexible - I initially got a call from Dave the same day we secured my reservation and he had a truck ready to pick up my car in 1-2 hours!!!! I was shocked at how quickly he was able to find someone, but unfortunately I wasn't home at the time. It was no problem though, he just found me someone else within 24 hours. 3. Don't expect day to day updates - these trucks are transporting several vehicles and I don't know how they can possibly update everyone on a daily basis so just have faith. I read many reviews on other sites of people getting upset because they didn't get status updates and I just feel like it isn't reasonable unless it is promised. 4. Summer is the prime moving season so don't be surprised if the quotes are a little higher around this time of year. 5. Finally - I highly recommend using Allied Auto Transport. I hope I don't have to move again soon, but I'll definitely be giving them more business if/when the time comes. read more

2 quotes for an open-transport from Salt lake to Bay area: $500 form a company I won't disclose and $875 from Allied. I ask allied if they can do it by a specific date and they say yes, so I go with them. The moment the $875 left my bank account I stop receiving any updates, follow ups or service at all. I had to call them every day to know what's going on and of course it's a different person every time. "I assure you that your car will arrive on Monday" - they said on Friday. "I assured you that your car will be there first thing tomorrow" -they said on Monday. Eventually gave up on getting anything from Allied and found out they just sub-contracted Top Line Service Inc for cheap and eat the margin. Top Line explained that the track had mechanical problems and worked with me on the delivery. The car eventually arrived on Wednesday at 7.30 pm when I was on my way to the airport for a family trip. Called Dave Baeiley to share the experience and ask for a partial refund and here's what I got: "Your price wasn't high, it's industry average. You and I talking about this isn't gonna change anything. This is how the industry works. Thank you for your business." I'm sure you'll have a great experience if the dispatcher doesn't have any problems... but if something goes wrong, they're gonna dump the responsibility on the driver and leave you in the dark. It seems like all they have is a pretty website, sales people, and a phone. read more

We had two cars to ship on a specific day with delivery on the same day. Allied was able to provide us with that service at a reasonable price. The driver was great! I'm a TV producer and we used Allied to transport our Hero Car based on a strong recommendation. They were easy to work with to set up the pickup and their driver showed up on time. Our vehicle got to it's destination clean and without any damage. The drivers (both to and from LA) were courteous and kept in touch with us on when they were arriving. The company eventually said that due to their profit margins they would only refund us $50, which is not much of an effort to make things right. Their office manager Jeff, or who I assume to be, was the one who informed us about the refund has not responded to our emails and we have yet to receive any refund. My car was picked up in LA and supposed to arrive in Austin Texas within 3-5 days. It took 17 days. They left it in Phoenix for 5 days then in El Paso for 9. Just waiting for other drivers to get it while it sat in some yard. No one called with updates or answered emails. I had to stay on top of it every day. read more

One of the most stressful and difficult situations due to this company. Was initially given a one day delivery time at the time of the quote. So this sounded like a great deal, fast turn around and great customer service. However, as soon as the credit card info was submitted and the sale was made, I quickly lost all contact. Pick up date? nothing. Pick up time? nothing. Had to call multiple times and left multiple messages and emails before I could receive single sentence long answers or responses which all ultimately skirted along the lines of "maybe... i'm not sure... possibly... no guarantee" car was finally picked up a day later than agreed and so plans had to be changed. and then another round of silence. where's my car? nothing. when will it be delivered? nothing. who is the driver? nothing. can i contact anyone who knows? nothing. phones calls, messages, and more led to uncertainty. Sales team is efficient and great for ~selling~ but effectively don't know the rest of the process and can't give you that much info afterwards. This company makes the sale and then finds a suitable driver but at that point, it's all up in the air. And personally, I prefer my car firmly on the ground and where I know it's location. read more

I heavily regret using this company and believing their promises. While shopping for this service, I received quotes from 7 companies, this had the lowest quote so I went with them. I wanted a one day pickup date as I was driving across country and no reliable place to leave my car, but Carl told me that the quote he gave me was only good if I agreed to a 1-2 day pickup. Reluctantly, I agreed (said it would be $100 more for a one day range). Carl told me I could just leave my car in a public area and hide the keys as the car would be picked up with 1-2 days. I didn't feel comfortable with this so I called in some favors and heavily inconvenienced someone by leaving my car at their place under the promise that it would be for no more than 2-days, which they don't have the space for me to leave it longer. After I left San Diego, where my car is to be picked up, I received a call saying they found a driver to pick it up for $150 more than I was quoted. I was upset and surprised as possibility of increase in price was never discussed. Dispatch Susan went on to tell me that they don't have control over the price and quote was an estimate, which was never discussed with me before. She also stated that all the other car moving companies use the same contract dispatch site and that I would be having a pickup issue if I had gone through another company. HOWEVER, what no one can answer is why was Allied Auto Transport car moving estimate much lower than the others if they all use the same dispatch company and when it clearly proved to be the case that this company CANNOT deliver on its promised price?? It appeared clear that they did an unrealistic price quote to under quote their competitors to just increase the rate later, there is no other answer to this. I refused the $150 increase as it was the first day of a 2 day window for pickup but asked if it would be long before I got another offer as I can't leave my car in its current location for more than the 2-days I was told it would take. I was told this wouldn't be an issue. It has now been 8 DAYS!!! I have received no other offers for car pickup despite calling dispatch almost daily. I keep telling them that I have to move my car and this is NOT what they promised me and they keep saying they are trying, but they still can't get me the service they promised 8-days after it was scheduled for pickup, then it is clear that this company is using ILLEGAL BAIT and SWITCH practices as it was clearly not a good faith estimate. This company has done nothing to try and make it up to me. One would think that if they promised me a price and a driver they were going to contract wanted more, they would make up the difference and take less profit out of their proceeds as increases were never disused as a possibility or I NEVER would have used this company. I arrived in Maryland 3-days ago (delivery location for my car) when I left same day as day 1 of a 2 day delivery pickup, but my car is still in San Diego in a location where it has to be moved but this company is so far out of what it promised and is punishing the customer. read more

Allied Auto Transport truly came through for my family in shipping not one, not two but four vehicles. I had my order with another broker, but they were unable to find a driver for over two weeks. I contacted several auto shipping companies through yelp and Allied gave a full quote within an hour. I called immediately to verify that they could actually get a driver, because I was told from another company that drivers are not willing to take the route because of the fires. Chris, checked promptly with his team and I was assured they could do the delivery. I was skeptical that they could get a driver. I kid you not, within 5 hours I had a driver scheduled and calling me to schedule a pick up. I am SOOO GRATEFUL for Allied, they trully helped me in a crunch.
