While I was initially somewhat self-conscious about deciding to work with a stylist, Ali's natural warmth, ease and confidence on our first intro zoom call immediately put me at ease. From there, she made every part of the process - from coming over to see my not-very-fashionable closet to curating a ThredUp board for me to giving me feedback on various new outfits - feel comfortable, fun and joyful. Throughout the process, I felt like I was hanging out with one of my best friends who just happened to be extremely fashion savvy! Perhaps what surprised and delighted me the most about working with Ali is that in addition to sharing her immense style wisdom, she was really invested in understanding who I am as a person and then finding ways to translate my essential nature into my clothes (which is not something I would have even thought was possible and definitely wouldn't have known how to do on my own). It was so much fun to discover new ways to express myself via clothes and I've been having a blast putting together new outfits ever since we worked together. I also appreciated what a great teacher Ali is. Rather than just selecting clothes for me, she taught me every step of the way why she was doing what she was doing, and how I could apply this knowledge on my own (e.g. how to figure out what your colors are, why certain lines work better than others, what kinds of elements to incorporate into each outfit, etc). As a result, I feel way more confident now putting together outfits for myself, as well as more discerning about what types of clothes to even search for in the first place. It also felt great to learn how to shop secondhand without sacrificing quality - if anything, I felt like the pieces we found were higher quality than what I would normally buy! I truly cannot say enough good things about Ali and her services. I have been recommending her to all my friends and family and am excited for anyone else who has the good fortune to work with her!

TLDR: I cannot recommend Ali and her services enough. Not only is she extremely fun and personable,…read morebut she's given me confidence in refining and creating a much more cohesive look and the ability to shop more consciously. I'm now able to shop on my own to find better quality pieces that compliment me--rather than end up in a landfill because I decide three months later I don't like it or it's falling apart at the seams. More context: I met Ali when she gave a free presentation at our local library and I knew I wanted to work with her. I decided to invest in her butterfly effect package as I turn 40 this year and scheduled a photo shoot to celebrate myself--and wanted the outfits I picked to reflect a true, confident me. Attached are a few photos of me wearing outfits Ali and I found using what she taught me. I only wish I found Ali sooner! She taught me so much--about the best color palette for me, how to extend my vertical line with an almond toe (vs round) shoe and how I was missing out on accentuating my small waist by choosing a mid rise vs high rise pant. She taught me that pant sizes aren't consistent which is why shopping for them is so difficult and that I was missing out by only looking at "size X"--I went up two sizes and found great high waisted pants at Current that I love. I've also been using ThredUp--a secondhand clothes app--for years. My online shopping session with Ali equipped me to find better, higher quality items using filters for certain types of fabrics and more. With the tips she's taught me, I can also now go to a secondhand clothing store in person and easily sift through and find what works and doesn't. I don't waste time on colors that don't work for me and I'm much more conscious of fabrics and trying to avoid synthetics--not only because they are bad for the environment, but because they don't last. Please consider investing in yourself and the planet! Buying clothes that don't work for you or give you confidence will only hurt your wallet and wind up in a landfill. Ali will teach you how to find a compelling look that completes you!

This review was written the day after my hair was done but held off on posting until now because I…read morehate to leave the review because Tosha is fantastic but I have to based on how I feel about my hair after an appointment that took months of researching what I wanted and hours on end looking at and saving pics to make sure hairstylist was on the same page with what I wanted. My hair didnt look anything like my inspiration pics. Highights didn't go further than top of head area even though I was told that if I get balayage, it would be the only way to get the color I wanted from roots to ends based on some previous color on my ends..(I was trying to avoid bleach and have had my entire head colored the same reddish/copperish color in the past with no bleach but I was told it couldnt be done) From the getgo I was saying how my key priority was keeping my hair healthy- hence why I wanted badly to avoid bleaching after years of growing out my thick hair. I was recommended partial balayage was only way to get a color lift. The color was not what I wanted ! Hilights were not placed like I was hoping in my inspo pics -My hair still looked overall dark even though I mentioned wanting it to stand out a bit and look like I got my hair done at my event. I received absolutely no compliments for the first time after getting my hair done and for the first time did not post a pic after to my social media as I usually do when getting my hair done.Placement almost makes it seem like grown out highlights that need to be redone and I am fully aware of technique used in balayage to make it look dimensional and natural (I worked in salon and have spent A LOT of time watching this be done -painted on- and I have a good eye for what looks good ) Now Im stuck with bleached hair with tons of broken flyaways and a color I don't like after years of growing out my natural hair and paid almost $300 to not like my hair. I have been recovering from 2 really bad hair experiences in the last 5yrs so this was a big step.I asked if she could give me different shades of the color so it looks more dimensional and it was acknowledged but not done I guess to avoid mixing up two separate bowls of color. Color looked worn out and almost like Ive washed it many times..It looks like the color when you know you need to go get your hair done again. It did not pop even in the money piece area as the inspo pics I showed-Unfortunately, I do not like it. I also left with alot of gray hairs which I later noticed around my face and in head that stand out..exactly what you don't want when coming home from the salon. If I am going to pay that much I need to come home with no grays which was one of my first concerns at the hair appointment. That being said, I did not want to leave this review. Tosha was great. She did a very thorough consult and has experience in her craft. The cut was not not the best Ive gotten, first time a hairdresser had razered off my very thick hair instead of cutting. Could have been more even in framed front pieces..that part was done too fast with not much attention at the end to make sure everything lines up. Framed front pieces were two different lengths. Also doesn't look like much of an angle cut now that I came home to inspect..barely an angle which is what I wanted just like the pic I showed her of her previous customer which had a good angle. Overall it was just OK Im not happy with the color or the spacing of highlights or the thickness of them making it look like only front top area is all one color not much contrast in between and color not coming down to ends regardless of being bleached. Back doesn't show much of anything. After deciding to bleach my hair to get what I wanted, I did not get that and now Im in the beginning of the same process of having to start my journey of growing out my hair AGAIN in my 40s! I just washed it today for the first time and I was in tears after. After 4hrs of working trying to tame it the hair texture was crazy frizzy and not like my normal hair The only way I can see myself coming out of the house is if I use a straightener &use high heat every single time I wash!I can imagine what Ill look like this summer at the beach with hair getting wet and beach saltiness. I just wanted to love my hair! The very same night I came home from hair appt, I felt sad and every time I look in the mirror, I feel as if I have to make another hair appointment already. Saw alot of family/friends and no one liked it :( I hate to leave this review as I absolutely loved Tosha. She was sooper nice and sweet and kind and educated you while she worked. She styles great -Regardless of our long consult, I just think there was a miscommunication on what exactly I wanted/expected. I showed her pics so many times just to make sure we were on the same page. The experience with her was great though.

Tosha does amazing work and she's so nice! I had never colored my hair before and went in to get a…read morebig cut and balayage, admittedly very nervous about it. She was a joy to spend a few hours with, answering my questions, and walking me through the process. I am in love with my new style and have gotten so many compliments on it, I can't wait to go back!
