IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR AND YOUR TIME DO NOT GO HERE !! I took my car in for a simple oil pan replacement and engine mounts. They failed to properly seal the oil pan twice and I had to take my car back 3 times! the second time they had used glue to seal the oil pan making a huge mess and voiding my warranty. Not only did it take them 3 attempts to finally reaper the oil pan they also over filled my engine oil by 2 and half quarts and the e fine mounts had to be replaced "again" cause it was quite obvious they never changed in the first place but charged me for it. Now my entire front suspension is compromised either due to them tampering or just the fact they had to drop my front suspension 3 times. Critical Review of Allstar Auto: I took my car to Allstar Auto because I couldn't clear a persistent P2078 code, despite having replaced all the relevant sensors and components related to the intake system (throttle body, air filter, hoses). Initially, I replaced the MAP sensor to see if that was the issue. When I realized it wasn't, I removed the replacement and reinstalled the original sensor. Unfortunately, while doing so, I over-tightened the bolt, causing it to snap and leaving it stuck in the intake manifold. At this point, frustrated and believing that this job was best left to a professional, I searched Yelp for a reputable mechanic and found Allstar Auto. When I brought my car in, it was hesitating during acceleration but still running. The shop diagnosed the problem as an issue with the intake manifold and replaced it--charging me, of course. However, this did not resolve the issue. The check engine light came back on almost immediately after I drove the car home, displaying the same P2078 code. I called the shop and they advised me to change the MAP sensor and that should fix the issue. I changed it but it did not correct the issue. Due to a work trip, I wasn't able to drive my car for about a month. When I finally did, it was making a terrible noise, and displaying the same P2078 code. I brought it back to Allstar Auto, and they identified the real issue as the timing chain, which they then fixed. I was charged yet again. In summary, I'm extremely disappointed with the service at Allstar Auto. As a DIYer, I might have expected the intake manifold to be the problem, but I trusted the expertise of trained mechanics to correctly diagnose and fix the issue the first time. I expected a thorough diagnostic process, not just a quick fix that didn't address the root cause. Instead, I was charged for unnecessary work, only to end up with the same problem and an even bigger issue later on. This experience has shaken my trust in the shop, and I would caution others to consider their options carefully before taking their vehicle here. read more

I have taken my vehicle to Allstar two times now for the last services it needed, and I am happy that I have. As many can likely relate, I have struggled to find good mechanics who are also honest and (sadly) respectful toward women. I used to take my car to the Toyota dealership, but not only did my local one disappoint many times, I also wanted to support small businesses, and finally through searching on Yelp, I found Allstar. Mike, the owner, and Julio, the person who last worked on my car, are great! Both times I have taken my car, I have gotten the services the car needed and not been oversold, which I really appreciate. My car is older, so of course, there have been recommendations on things to fix, but Mike and Julio have been honest about what required immediate attention and what can wait a bit longer. This has not been the case at other places. Since I have only been here twice, I don't have much more to add, but I'll update this as needed. read more

The phrase, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemies doesn't apply here. I would absolutely wish this money pit on my worst enemies. Unprofessional, unreliable, expensive, and worst of all TIME CONSUMING. AC wasn't working, so I took my vehicle in. They quoted me NOTHING, said "we'll take a look and call you." Never heard from them again, so I just drove to the facility at their closing time. They said they could not find the leak but have replaced the fluid, placed dye, and would recheck it as part of the package (that I never agreed to). I didn't even make an issue out of them charging me without authorization, because they said it should be good and time is the most valuable thing to me. AC stops working a week later. I take my Yukon in two more sperate times they hold on to my vehicle from open to close on both separate days, never calling me to come pick it up I just show up around closing. They say they can't find the leak and they are going to have to charge me extra to take the bumper off.... I decided this was taking to long and wanted someone else to take a look. I took my Yukon to another shop which found the leak and replaced the fluid in 45 MINUTES from walking in the door. New place scheduled me for an appointment and had it fixed in less than a day on that scheduled appointment. The other place got the job done and was cheaper. This place seems to be a stereotypical scamming auto shop. I wasn't even concerned about the money, all the time wasted at this shop is was what killed me. When I wrote them, they responded with "there is no universal fix that fixes everything". I didn't want a universal fix for everything, just wanted my ac to work like I said day one. That was my experience with this place. ****This company has responded by telling me that I never took my vehicle there and that I have made a mistake. I have attached a screenshot of some the paperwork they have sent (because they do it electronically) with their address at the top. Everything I said was accurate. Came in for AC concerns mechanic on hand quoted me $159 to vacuum AC line, test for leaks, and replace High and Low side pressure valves. When I returned to pick up my vehicle the owner immediately said none of that worked and that my new total is $229 as the mechanic didn't know how to give an accurate estimate. Told me I would have to bring it in again so they can test for leaks (even though the invoice shows I supposedly paid for the dye service) and that the compressor was actually the faulty component. Would not recommend as I paid for services that were not needed and also didn't receive the dye service to find where the leak is. read more

Mike and his guys are straight shooters and you can count on them to get the job done right the first time. In the past 2.5 weeks I've had both of my vehicles in his shop. My Dodge Dart needed a heater core, and if you know anything about this kind of replacement, let's just say that the entire dash needs to come out. All of it. It's a big, tedious undertaking in regards to the amount of parts involved. It took a few days, but only because of the attention to detail the job required. I'm glad they took their time to do the job right the first time! They even fixed a previously existing rattle in the dash, and the AC even blows colder because the car got a fresh vacuum and recharge of refrigerant! Fast forward about a week (a late Thursday afternoon) and my Ford E-150, which I need for my job, decides to blow a sparkplug and it's coil boot right out of the top of the head. It's unusual to have this experience with most mechanics. My husband made an appointment on April 9th (about a week and a couple days) due to our car making a popping noise whenever it accelerated or braked. He took the car in today, April 19th at 8am (appointment time that he initially made on April 9th) and the shop was still closed. He had to go around the back and spoke to an individual who wasn't a part of the shop, he mentioned to my husband that the mechanic wasn't there but that he assured him that the mechanic will give my husband a call at a later time, but to feel free to leave the car in the lot. The mechanic never called my husband and my husband had to call the mechanic multiple times using the number on yelp and Google. There are two different numbers listed and neither worked. My husband went back to the shop at 11:30am to get a hold of the mechanic and the mechanic mentioned that the car hadn't been looked at, despite the appointment initially made. However, the mechanic said that he will take a look at the car. The mechanic called my husband back at 1:45pm to let him know what the problem was and thankfully at 3:45pm the car was ready. Once my husband arrived at the shop (4:15pm) to pick up the car, he mentioned the $20 off coupon from yelp and the mechanic did not honor the coupon, but instead offered a 25 dollar discount off the next service with a review. (Makes sense why it's highly rated on yelp, I mean who doesn't want a discount, right?) Overall, The job got done, but would not go back. Appointments were made on post-it notes, appointment times were not honored, for those of you on a tight busy schedule, I highly do not recommend. He was unable to be reached by phone...Perhaps, it was an off day. Who knows, but I mean that's what an appointment is for to get things done in an organized matter, I suppose. read more
