So, I called to get an estimate and he took down my vehicle make and model and got back to me within minutes, with a reasonable estimate. I had been waiting half the day to hear back from another 5 star mechanic here on yelp, but Wayne was timely, efficient and MOBILE! Sold! You never know, how it's really going to go with a random mechanic, especially being female. I have been disappointed and mislead about what i was getting and for how much $$$. This experience, from beginning to end, was agonizing. From the first minute of the first call, the individual on the end of the line replied as if I'd been speaking to him for hours. In response to earnest questions about the alternator issues I was having, I was met with curt, sarcastic responses, and when I offered further vehicle information, was told "Yeah; that'd help." Despite the inauspicious call, I'd hoped that his expertise would speak louder than his attitude. I met him at my home--as I had work through the day--to find him fumbling with my serpentine belt after having replaced the alternator. He complained multiple times about not being able to find any diagrams of the belt assembly online, to the point where I stood outside my house with him looking on my phone trying to help find it. About ten minutes later he said he "randomly figured it out", and the job was about complete. After discovering that my battery was drained and offering some options for charging it, it came time for the pay. Cash only, which wasn't mentioned at any point previously, so after having him follow me to a convenience store, I paid him, happy to be done with the interaction. Reading other reviews, it seems most people dealt with a guy named Wayne. This guy never introduced himself (even when I made a point to do so myself), or even simply made an effort to be some semblance of cordial. His demeanor on the phone, like his demeanor in person, was incredibly unprofessional. Yes, he managed to replace the alternator, though it seemed it was like pulling teeth for him. read more

Wayne got my GMC Yukon XL going, THANKS... What he thought was a bad fuel pump was a loose connection on the fuel pump. I had to Uber around to two different Autozones to find fuel pump and bring it back. Probably could have saved time and money if I had known this when he discovered it. Over all experience 4 star. This guy has the experience do it it right. He is a great, small business. keep in mind big garages have a separate guy JUST to talk to you smoothly thats called a "service writer" and that service is passed on to you in a much higher charge than any smaller garage without a service writer charges. This technician IS his own customer service rep, forgive the shortness if he doesn't have time to explain it all step by step. I had an accident in my Jeep Grand Cherokee a few weeks ago. I hit a pole in an HEB parking lot after being cut off by another car. I called another Mobile mechanic who said that he didn't handle suspension type damage, but he referred me to Wayne Garcia, at AllStar Mobile Auto Repair. I called Wayne and he said he could come out the same day to check out the damage. He called me when he got to my apartment to let me know he was here, but I was on the other line with a client, so I had to text him to please wait for me. He was nice enough to wait for me another 10 minutes before I could come down. As soon a he looked under the Jeep, he knew exactly what was wrong. We had broken the driver side tie-rob and the control arm. He then started calling around to local Jeep dealers asking what a control arm would cost and it was around $400-500 at all of them. Then he said let's look on ebay, and sure enough we found exactly what we needed on ebay, so I ordered it for about $100. Then he called up an autoparts store to locate the tie-rod, which was only about $50 for both ends. I called Wayne the next week to come do the labor after I had received the control arm in the mail and gotten the tie-rod from the store and he came out the next day. He got to work quickly and I could tell from watching he knew exactly what he was doing. We came across another issue with the tie-rod because the old one got stripped inside the rack and pinion threads. He told me at a regular shop they would tell you that you need to replace the rack and pinion which is another $300-400. But Wayne told me that we probably don't need to do that. We could first try a "tap" which is a machining tool to drill holes with threads. This would help us get the stripped threads out of the rack and pinion. So I went and made some calls at Wayne recommendation and found the exact size tap we would need for $30. Wayne came out the very next day and within 20 minutes he had gotten the stripped threads out and fixed the tie-rod. All that's left is to get the Jeep aligned, but now it's at least drivable so that we can take it to get estimates on the body work (which is a whole other issue) Wayne has a friend that he's talking to for me that does body work at great rates, all we have to do is buy the parts ourselves. Wayne saved me so much time and money. I'm very grateful to have found him. I'll be calling him for all my auto needs from here out. In fact, he's going to replace all my coil packs and spark plugs on my truck in a few weeks for about 20% of what a shop charges. I highly recommend calling up AllStar mobile auto repair if you have any issues with your vehicles. read more

Fast response. My wife and daughter were stranded near 1604. I am in Uvalde so I had to find a mobile mechanic. There was a loud clanging noise coming from the right wheel area. Wayne listened to the recording and felt it might be a broken brake assembly. (I did too). He went and bought the parts and arrived within an hour. Good news. I contacted Wayne for help with getting mobile inspections on pre-owned vehicles before purchasing. I know nothing about cars and was relieved to have him save me from buying a money pit. Between inspections, I would text him asking for advice. He was very patient and gave me lots of useful information. His inspection of a vehicle today led to me purchasing that vehicle! He is very thorough during inspection and upfront about the information he gives. He is knowledgeable and helped me feel much more comfortable about my purchase! On 06/06/2019 my family vehicle failed to start after stalling in a parking garage on the UIW campus. The repair technician was contacted over the phone and dispatched to my location. He assessed the vehicle problem and assured me that he would be able to make the necessary repairs on the spot. The fuel pump had gone out and required replacing. After 3 1/2 hours of work in the parking garage, the technician guaranteed the serviceability of the vehicle from his repairs. I payed, in cash, $250 for the job. Upon payment, I departed the parking garage and went home for the evening. After pulling into my driveway, the check engine light came on. I then messaged the technician, "On the way home I got a check engine light and it is not feeling right. I can get the light scanned tomorrow." He responded, "Let me know what the code is for. It is probably the emission code for the gas cap." The car was brought to the local mechanic to get the engine code scanned. The local mechanics informed me that not only was this a "botched fuel pump job" that needed to be redone, but the fuel tank was secured with zip ties. I forwarded the report from the local mechanic to the mobile technician and requested a refund to cover the cost of having the fuel pump job redone by my local mechanic. He replied," that's not how that works. The tank doesn't have to be removed neither does the fuel pump. That's OK if you want to have someone else repair it but I spent a lot of time on that repair especially that tank strap that would not fit back on." I replied, "zip tying the gas tank back on is not acceptable in my book. Look man, your work is guaranteed for 60 days. It was not an easy job but I have to pay to have it redone. I cant have my gas tank wobbling around all over the place. I just want a refund to get it installed correctly." The mobile technician has failed to respond to any forms of contact made by me. Wayne is awesome! I spoke with him on friday about my Nissan Xterra not turning over and he came out to my home the next day. I had a bad experience with Your Mechanic setting up an appt and day before work was to be done cancelled. They had no one who could perform my repair. Then my life saver Wayne came to the rescue. He is very professional. Curteous and came when he said he would. He listen to the engine try and crank over and state its the timing belt. He was kind enough to go pick up the parts for the work. This is a labor intensive repair and he completed it in a timely manner. He also found a lose wire on the new previously installed distributor cap. My Xterra was running like new again! Ecstatic! The cost to me was way better then any shop could offer and in every way out classed the competitor. Wayne's. Automotive knowledge is indepth. He left my driveway the same way he found it. Wayne sent Sam out to look at my car which would not start. After running his diagnostics, Sam told me I had a bad starter and would need to replace it soon. I decided to go ahead and replace it. After replacing the starter, Sam turned the ignition and the car is doing the same thing before repair. As it turns out, I needed a new battery. We found out after the fact that the battery was 5 years old! So now I'm wondering, did I need a new starter? Would not recommend. read more

By far one of the rudest people I've ever met. Doesn't know how to talk to customers, gives really short answers and doesn't explain. On his website or lack of website it says "24/7 at your convenience" but yet when I told him I worked Monday through Friday 8 to 5 it would have to be sometime after that. At first he told me he couldn't do it because he didn't want to deal with rush-hour then finally he said he could be there at 7 o'clock the next day and that the repairs would only take about an hour or so. He was Replacing my rear brakes. Not only did he show up 30 minutes late it also took over 1 1/2 hrs. Also I don't think it's professional to sit there and smoke cigarettes and work on someone's vehicle at their house. You really don't see that at actual repair shops. In person was no different then the phone call very rude and very short with his answers seemed like he was annoyed that I was there at my own house in my own driveway. I will give him one thing the prices were pretty good but the service was horrible. That's the reason why he gets at least one star, as for the prices. I would never and will never refer him or go to him ever again. I noticed reading these other reviews that the only ones Allstar comments on are the negative ones which tells me what they say is probably true. Most people aren't going to make things up like that usually. I'm not 100% for sure but I think the guy that came out to my house is the one and only employee. I mean there was no company vehicle with the name it was just a beat up truck with a toolbox and an air compressor in the back so I don't know. To me it just looked really sketchy. I guess the old saying "you pay for what you get" is true. I will gladly pay extra money to go to a legit, certified place because I seriously doubt this one man company carries insurance. I have already reported him to the BBB and apparently he has more than one complaint already. Last but not least I would say the worst part of this entire debacle was all the grease from his hands that he got all over the paint on my truck I had to clean it myself because apparently that is not in his service description. It's not like I have a POS of a vehicle, it's not a new Mercedes-Benz but a 2014 Ram 1500 is a pretty nice truck. read more
