An additional personal opinion of mine is that brokers are an unnecessary part of the insurance game, especially in the modern age. However, at the end of the year several months later we received a "dreaded NONRENEWAL LETTER" one paragraph - one sentence, 6 words long ... Our homeowners policy was being canceled ... terminated. My insurence agent Phil Diietz never communicated directly with us ... so much for personal touch.... what crap. We had all of our insurance with Allstate ... 5 policies in total including homeowners, rental single family home. automobile 2 cars, personal liability etc.... we canceled all of them and signed up with State Farm Insurance. So far it has been very good

Actually no reason was given .. the claim was paid total of around $2500 .. and at the time of the next renewal notice instead I received a one line notice saying my homeowners insurance is canceled. That's all. None of the other policies were canceled. I am now a happy insurance customer of State Farm (who laughed at Allstate doing this). Way to go, nice touch Allstate. I had Allstate insurance for 10 years with no claims. F*& %$#@
