Our not-so-wonderful contractors (Graham Builders) picked this company to do the work, so we had no choice. The air handler which is in the ceiling, has a 10" space between the bottom of it and the ceiling joists. You have to crawl on your back to access the access panel, which faces the lowest point of the roof. Now, they won't even service it cause none of their personnel can fit in there. Unbelievable. Graham Builders knew from the start that central a/c was going to be installed in our home and could've designed a roof that could accommodate the air handler better. Or, Alltemp could've repositioned the air handler itself. Instead, they installed it anyway, knowing that the access panel would be totally inaccessible for repairs and maintenance. Just recently we had a private carpenter come in to add an additional access panel and have chosen Sturdevent to service our a/c instead. AVOID! read more

No, I would certainly not recommend this bunch of rip off merchants. Minus 5 stars for dishonesty and subterfuge. When on a regular maintenance call the sales manager Victor gave me a lengthy sales pitch, strongly recommending we replace our older central AC system (which worked just fine) with a very expensive, quieter and more efficient model, as it was noisy and would probably not last much longer. As we were having a new swimming pool built within 5' of the outdoor AC unit which sat very close to this social area, we agreed as they promised a very quiet and efficient state of the art new system. $20,000 later and the system did not work, ever, it was way too hot inside the house and the thermostat never showed the correct temperature. They replaced the thermostat twice and came back numerous times to try to fix the ongoing issues with the rattling outside unit and inability to cool the house. They said that they would keep their word and make us happy no matter what, our satisfaction was of the upmost importance to them. After many months passed they offered another cheaper system until they could order one that was much quieter. They installed the second system, which was very large and extremely loud and then declared I couldn't be pleased even though they had complemented me many times on my flexibility and patience in this frustrating matter. I had asked when the quieter system would arrive and could be installed and the owner then announced that he was no longer willing to work with me and dropped me as a client leaving me with the very noisy, cheap and inefficient unit, even worse than the one we started with. So, we were then stuck with an extremely noisy outdoor unit right next to our new swimming pool. We have since had to have another company come in and yet another system installed at even greater expense. One of the All temp technicians told me on his last day that he was quitting as he did not like the way this company treated people and was especially ashamed to be a party to my predicament. He said he was sorry and couldn't do this anymore and was going to work for another company with more integrity. I would certainly not recommend this company as they seem only interested in selling you an overpriced and inferior system, and then walking away as they did not seem to have the skills or knowledge needed to rectify any of the issues that came up as a consequence of mistakenly hiring them. We had a furnace problem we had been trying to fix for two months that no one could fix. So it was astounding how Ryan, the Alltemp technician, knew exactly what to do to fix the problem fast. He was far more knowledgable and cheaper than anyone we've tried before. A no nonsense guy who took one look at the furnace and knew exactly how to troubleshoot the problem and repair it quickly. When we signed our lease 5 years ago, our landlords had Alltemp install a new AC system. From the get go we've had issues. They refused to repair installation issues. We have had other AC companies fix problems. Now, come to find out, the ducting was not supported correctly. Alltemp charges as much if not more than any company on this island. Tommy ( service manager ) does not do a good job of communicating with there Techs of the customer. Simple part that should have gotten ordered a week ago ( Tuesday ) has still not been ordered because Tommy can't get off his butt & speak to the Tech. Why ??? We purchased a split unit, Fujitsu A/C from Alltemp and they installed it approx August 7, 2015. Our salesman, Mike, was very nice and made a special effort to get us our unit as quickly as possible when I told him I have cancer and needed relief from the heat. The installation went well, however, lis tess than 3 months after installation, the unit starting spitting out gray mold. The amount was enough that I had to vacuum it up every day. We called the office and they sent a technician to assess the problem. The technician was only here for about 10 minutes. In that time, he shined his flashlight into the unit, took some photos, and told us he didn't know what it was and would have to talk to his boss and get back with us. This tech told us he had worked for the company for two years. Surely he has seen this problem before as we found it ourselves on the internet. My husband called the office and spoke with Jeff Afflack, the owner, who was also an old acquaintance of 20+years of my husband. Jeff insisted that it was nothing to do with the unit, and perhaps was from mold in the home, misuse of the unit etc etc. He became very adversarial and made us feel as though we had done something wrong. He offered no acceptable solutions to our problem. He didn't have anyone look closely at the unit, or did he offer to look into it any further. My husband ended up calling the Fujitsu tech support number and got a lot of great advice from the technician. He was surprised at the answers and the treatment we received from the owner, Jeff. We paid $4200 3 months ago for a product that is now producing mold. He ultimately offered to have a technician come and clean the unit for $130 an hour. He said it would take approximately 3 to 4 hours. That is not including materials, which we would have had to pay for. We declined his offer. We did have the unit cleaned, and it took less than an hour and cost nowhere near $130 an hour. Needless to say, we are very disappointed in the transaction. We spent a lot of hard earned money and were treated like we were trying to get over on him! All we want is a functional, and a safe, air conditioning unit! We would not recommend Alltemp to anyone! Safe your hard earned money and frustration and go elsewhere! ps. We are also going to file this review with Fujitsu corporate and the BBB. read more

I would not recommend AllTemp on Maui because they don't stand behind their workmanship. After replacing my evaporator (inside unit) they installed a new filter-drier outside. It turns out they did a very poor solder joint on the filter-drier which would have been detected if they had bothered to do a pressure test, vacuum test, or even a visual inspection. Needless to say I ran out of refrigerant after their 30-day warranty expired. They originally charged me extra for using an evaporator I supplied (so they made money on my part) and yet like to use that as an excuse to not even consider fixing their poor workmanship on installing the part they had supplied. On a billing front be aware that they do start charging from when they leave their warehouse and not from when they show up. The various little add-on charges seem to vary on the service tech. In short they seem to look for any opportunity to not stand behind their work. I gave them 2 stars since they did show up on time and were willing to install my evaporator. read more

They serviced our AC just a couple of months ago for previous owner of the house as part of resolving inspection issues (AC wasn't working). Now, they won't warrant their work and won't even look at it, because 'they are no longer accepting new customers'. Doesn't sound like they stand behind their work...be cautious.... read more

We called Alltemp to have them install two Nest thermostats. My husband is usually pretty handy, but after several failed attempts, he gave up and was willing to just pay someone to get it done. Unfortunately, Alltemp was booked out until September and we needed the work done sooner. Tom took the time out to give my husband a few pointers and it worked! Alltemp was awesome! I got 3 quotes, theirs was one of them and won't mention the other two companies. Theirs was right in the middle price wise. The cheapest company was about a month out from being able to install our new AC system so they were out. Paul was super accommodating and got our install scheduled exactly one week from the day I signed the approval. I also asked about service moving forward as that is a big deal and he said their service calls are answered same day usually, worst case next day. That is impressive and makes a huge difference. Again, the cheapest company said currently they were 3 weeks out on service calls. I'm sorry, but when your AC is broken, 3 weeks isn't going to cut it. Install took 1 1/2 days. Each day their awesome crew showed up at 745am. End result is a quiet, cold air conditioning system installed by an outstanding and professional crew. I cannot recommend Alltemp highly enough. THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME. I had a problem with my FUJITSU SPLIT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. I called the company who installed it and they wanted to replace all five circuit boards and the EEV valve. They never tested the boards and they were not helpful at all...In fact, we felt they were SCAMMERS. Then we called ALLTEMP. The gal on the phone was very helpful and really seemed to care. I told her the problem we had had with the other company and she immediately put me through to their technician named RYAN. He was friendly, informative and we talked about the problems we were having. Within an hour he was at my door. He fixed my unit and I spent $400 instead of the $1500 the other company wanted to charge. He had testing equipment for the circuit boards and tested each of them and showed me the readings. He was amazing. He was in constant contact wwith the manufacturer as he worked through the issues. The entire experience with RYAN and with ALLTEMP was A+ from the first phone call.
