Understandably, they noted in their system about those missed maintenance appointments apparently red flagging us despite our purchasing 3 units from them. I understand the lost revenue due to our failure to be available for the appointments. Recently, we called their office to request a quote to install new units in another property requiring 5 units to install. The receptionist after asking our name. Read out to us about the past appointment issues obviously noted in their system, reminding us of our past mistakes that occurred during difficult times (covid etc, again not to justify our past faults). We paused wondering if we were now not eligible for any type of service or purchase from them. Receptionists continued in a stern tone asking for our address etc and rudely/degrading manner, asking us to repeat ourselves. I asked "so you can't hear me?" After my disappointment/hurt with her very rude, unforgiving attitude, as if we were asking for free AC units and burdening her with our call, she then changes her tone when I tell her "it's okay we'll call later if she can't hear me, she then says "oh no. I can hear you ". By then I decided to not waste any more money on this company. Thank goodness for a subsequent call to STEVE'S PLUMBING and AC REPAIR for their very efficient, very kind, Professional customer service.

We Had the pleasure of contracting Makana Hapakuka of RIP ( Relax in Paradise) Air Conditioning for…read morethe installation of a 3 ton split air conditioning system for our existing two bedroom Vacation rental on Maui. We received several bids for the job that ranged from $18000 to $34000 as we had several optional accessories included in the bid. Not only was Makana the lowest bid but he was the only contractor willing to design a system incorporating all our concerns. Our concerns were as follows: 1) Timeliness of installation 2) Aesthetic impact to the unit 3) Noise generated by unit 4) Compliance with HOA requirements 5) Cost of both the installation as well as the operation of the unit Concerning timeliness, downtime is costly in the rental business. Makana promptly answered our call for a video consultation and subsequently submitted a bid for our consideration. He requested 5 days for the installation so we blocked out one week. He arrived 30 minutes early each day to prepare for the day and promptly began working at 9:00 in full compliance to HOA guidelines. He completed the job in three days including sheet rock repair. In fact we were able to rent the unit to a new tenant on day five. Concerning Aesthetic impact, Makana was the only contractor that understood our concerns. Our building has concrete exterior walls, ceilings and floors which make running air conditioning lines a challenge as most contractors run the lines in plastic chases attached to the the walls in the unit. The only visible chase is on the riser extending from the compressor on the exterior wall in the corner of our Lanai. Once inside he attached the lines tightly to the ceiling and built a chase of framing and Sheetrock across the master bedroom to the framed suspended ceiling of the bathrooms and closet areas. He then came through the closets near the ceiling to attach the lines to the evaporators in each bedroom including inline pumps to remove condensation through return lines running to the sink drain in the main bathroom. You cannot see the lines even when the closet doors are open. He did the same for the main room evaporator running the lines directly through the wall. You honestly see nothing but the actual evaporator units in each room. Concerning noise., the compressor unit is very quiet and has the ability to run in an even quieter evening mode. The interior units and the inline condensation return pumps are equally quiet as well. Concerning HOA compliance, he built a completely closed system and I never received any noise complaints. Concerning cost, as I stated before, his bid was the best value for this custom Installation but more than that he provided us with several options to reduce our operating costs including interior units that have motion sensors to shut down the individual room unit when there is no movement in a room for 20 minutes. He also installed door sensors on the Lanai doors so that the entire compressor will shutdown if either door is left open for more than 5 minutes... ( so we are not cooling the outside). We also had him install WiFi controllers on each unit so we could control the unit from our phone application anywhere in the world in the event a tenant departs and forgot to shut down the air conditioners. I could not be more pleased with this contractor. He and his crew were punctual, professional, conscientious, kind and clean. In fact they used the last hour each work day to completely clean the job site and even hired a professional cleaner to deep clean after the job was completed. They far exceeded m expectations on every issue... I highly recommend you give them a call should you need this kind of work.

First time I had them out for an issue they said required parts from Oahu, three weeks later they came back and installed it improperly, I had them come back only to have the same guy jerry rig-it again. Second time, I had them come out and check a leaking drain pan, the technician said they would need to use nitrogen to clear out the, at which time he said the office would call and schedule a time. No call back. I called another company and they found the main issue that Scott's didn't. I don't like beating up companies as people make mistakes, but I didn't get good service. On a good note the office lady taking the calls was super nice.

Scott, when you were at my house you were here less than 1 hour, cleaned the outdoor unit, added 1 LB of freon, and failed to look further into the real cause of the problem. (which I found myself at the air handling unit, torn open ducting) This was an easy fix and you did not take the time to even check it out or repair it! We talked about working on overtime rates due to the holiday and I said fine but when you add it up Scott it was unethical what you did, for LESS THAN 60 minutes of work. I was left to repair the real problem myself. Truck Driving Charge $26 Overtime labor 3@ $158= $474 R-22 Freon $43.63 TOTAL with tax=$566.28 WTF, charging people $158 for driving across island and then again for driving back. That's $316 in made up bullshit, a complete ripoff. Furthermore you told me the dryer needed to be replaced and would email me a quote to fix that and also a separate quote to replace my entire system which is old and due to replace soon. I was open to that but your quotes or bids never came, no follow up, no calls, nothing. I ended up following up with Angel at your office and she said you would call me back and you still didn't! What a shame. If you are looking for professional service, with timely follow up, at an ethical price, Scott's Cooling is not the choice. If you want to refund me some $ and make things right I can adjust this review but as of this moment I feel violated.

They all did very good installations so not one iota of dissatisfaction. Recently, needed a new roof so the existing panels had to come down and go back up. Laulima Solar worked in conjunction with the roofer to start reinstalling our PV while the roof was still being worked on! We also had them replace the failing solar hot water heater and panels at the same time. We named Laulima as the solar contractor in charge of our Enphase account at the beginning of this process and they reviewed our system and offered recommendations. We wanted some upgrades and Camilo made recommendations as to upgrade and "placement" of those panels. There was also after install review and a request for any changes we might want. We've had Solar Hot Water since we moved in 25 years ago. PV started in 2008. Except for Sunny Solutions hot water (retired-no longer in business), we've not had this level of service - even when requested. As wife and I get on in years, I don't want to have the "hands on" followup that I had to do in the past. We would have never stumbled on Laulima except for our roofer's recommendation and it's turned out to be a "best" recommendation.
