I first dealt with All Trans back in September of 2012 when I finally had it with my 94 Chevy Diesel's transmission/transfer case. My wife and I along with our two dogs drove the truck with her car in tow from Jacksonville, NC to Oakland, CA. This was the time between duty stations so we decided to make a vacation out of it and stopped at places such as Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Grand Canyon and Yosemite. Along the way, the transmission or transfer case started acting up with a symptom of a very noticeable clunk in the driveline. I don't know how long I drove it for like this but I decided to put it off until the truck arrived in Hawaii. One day in September while driving away from the gate of Kaneohe MCBH, the transfer case came out of gear from 4HI and went to Neutral. This is when I decided that it was too unsafe to drive and bit the bullet to have the tranny/xfer case looked at. One rebuilt tranny, xfer case and a few days later, I get the call to pick up the truck. I wasn't shocked at the bill for the work they did. I was just happy that the clunking and shifting to neutral was gone. March came along and before this, I spent three months on two separate training evolutions on the Big Island and on returning, the clunking symptom came back. I brought it back to All Trans and Mike and the crew could not figure it out after 3-4 days. So, I tried to break the truck by ignoring all the clunking and powering through it all. One day, the xfer case shifted into neutral on it's own again and by the time I had dropped it off, the xfer case must have gone into neutral on its own three times. I dropped off the truck again and this time expressed to them that the truck should not be driving this way and was unsafe for anybody in and around the truck. About 3-4 days later, I was called to pick up the truck and was told that someof the bushings on the range fork had worn through which was causing the xfer case to shift into neutral. On my way home, while driving up and down Red Hill, the xfer case started to clunk again and also all the way home back to Kaneohe MCBH. While on the road, I called All Trans and told them that the truck was still acting up and that I would be dropping it off when I was able to. I dropped off the truck again and another 3-4 days later, I was called. When I picked up the truck this time around, Mike took me to the back of the shop where the transmissions were being built and showed me how he had learned from research that the old shift fork was updated and redesigned with a tougher aluminum piece instead of a bent flat piece of metal. I asked for the old shift fork as a souvenir and as a reference in case the clunking came back and I was in a different state. I drove off a little skeptical but I made it over the H-3 and back home with no clunks or shifting into neutral. Long story short, even though the warranty on the xfer case had expired, Mike and the crew still kept working on diagnosing the problem multiple times at no charge even after throwing in a new transmission mount and the updated range fork, All Trans sent me home with no new charges. Hell, All Trans even drove my truck to the front gate of Kaneohe MCBH to pick me up just to show that everything was driving like it should! Thanks All Trans for making everything right. The reason for a five star rating is because I was able to experience the full spectrum from All Trans from first encounter and through all the headaches and finally with an outcome where everyone was happy. I just hope that I'm not jinxing myself for doing this review! P.S. I forgot to mention that All Trans had also put in a new starter on my truck and now the truck starts better than before! I was sure that the teeth on my flexplate were all jacked up but Mike and the crew assured me that the teeth on the flexplate were good and that it was the internals of the old starter that were grinding. First an for most I would like start by saying that this is not a plea for my job back, nor do I benefit in any way from what Im about to say since I'm no longer employed by Alltrans. I'm a younger technician that is just starting off in the automotive industry ,who after a short trial at Alltrans was advised by Mike to seek further training. I no longer work at Alltrans because of a standard which Mike has set for all his employees to insure quality work on each and every vehicle that enters his Shop. Not only does he set the bar high as far as accuracy an pace are concerned, Mike personally Supervises each job so that there is no room for error. While other shops have substituted performance for production, He has some how managed to bring you both. Mike has created an atmosphere that is a great pleasure to work in, but more importantly extremely comfortable for the customers as well. The moment you walk in that door your greeted by the ever so attentive secretary Jen ( with her bubbly but hospitable personality and her contagious smiles) ready to cater to your needs. Next off is the detail oriented technician Brian, who inspects your vehicle and ask you what symptoms you've been experiencing. An believe me he is just as concerned about your car as you are. An we cant forget about the builder scotty, who to me is kind of like the foundation of a building. You hardly see him, but he is one of the most important parts of the structure. If you do see him, you will notice that his eyes are on his work. THIS MAN IS DEDICATED TO HIS TRADE. Often Mike himself will come out an give you a tour of the shop, and take you through the process step by step so that you know were your money is going. And I have to say that I have never seen that in any other shop I've worked in or visited for that matter. Now that I have told you what kind of boss mike is and what type of shop he runs, Let me tell you what kind of individual he is. I have never meet a more compassionate man in my life. He is a incredible human being and inspires others to be as will. Most people that have reached his level of success in life (which he deserves every bit of )won't give you time of day, but he gives his attention to everybody. From the delivery man to laundry guy, He makes everyone that surrounds him feel important. He's easy to talk to. Even if you just met him, he makes you feel like you have known him for years. During my days at Alltrans being the only entry level mechanic surrounded veterans of the trade I often felt like the short guy on the basketball team who was always on the bench, but mike and his wife were always there to coach an mentor me making me feel like part of the team. Even on my last day he made sure I had somewhere to go and help me load and deliver my tool box to my new workplace. Now you've read outsiders opinions about the place, but my opinion comes from behind the senses, and I have no reason to lie, because I no longer work there, yet I am proud to say that I was once a member of the Ohana at Alltrans. I started off by wanting to say a few good things about Alltrans, but this has turned into a small novel simple because I cant say enough, so i'll leave you with this. Words cannot adequately express my gratitude towards the All Trans team at 851 Mapunapuna St. They restored my dream car and faith in people. I was devastated after spending tens of thousands of dollars to maintain and repair my 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK350 at the service center for years. In November 2015, their final recommendation was to not continue repairing the car. I lost my faith in the people who I trusted for years and considered selling the car as is. Unfortunately, the car, which had to be towed to the service center, could not be driven and needed towing again to be repaired, sold, or junked. When I explained the horrible predicament to my pastor who is married to my sister, he suggested speaking to Michael F. of All Trans who is a member of our congregation. Michael F. listened to me and offered to assess the car's condition, so I agreed to a third and final assessment. Michael F. is honest and trustworthy. He said the car is a "keeper." A part was replaced, and the transmission was finally repaired well. I am relieved that All Trans fixed it because the mechanic of the second assessment showed me that the transmission was leaking. Michael F. recommended driving the car for a while and then, polishing to improve the car's appearance. The hood was very cloudy, and the rest of the car looked bad. After the car was polished by All Trans, I was shocked that my dream car looked great! The rims didn't change, but I had to glance at the license plate to be sure that I was admiring my car. I can't remember if the car was as shiny at the time of purchase from the first owner in 2007. The front lights are the clearest in years. Obviously, since I don't know much about cars, I am willing to pay people who are blessed by God with expertise. I can't afford to purchase another car now, so Michael F. and Carol F. with their team at All Trans have saved me. All Trans is AMAZING! Jenny is so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. She actually calls you back when she says she will. They are the most user friendly automotive service I have had the pleasure to use. My transmission was going out. I took it to the dealership for a diagnostics. The transmission was in need of complete repair. They were going to charge my 10K for the repairs. My truck set for nearly 5 months. I was told about All Trans and took the chance and made the call. I took the diagnostics to Jenny and she said she her shop could fix it and give me a military discount. She quoted me a price of 45K to 48K with the discount. I was like yes lets do this. She said one of the parts would have to be ordered and to keep in mind it was both the Christmas and New Year's Holidays. It make time to get the part in and of course the shop would be closed over the Holidays. I said that is fine, I have not driven it for this long I can go another few weeks. That was the week before Christmas 2018. Today 4 January 2019 she called me out of the blue and said the vehicle was ready for pick up. I went down there and once all the paperwork was done I owed only 300 more than what I had put down to begin the repairs. All said and down it was still less than 48K she quoted and way less than the 10K from the dealer and a few other locations. Plus, she gave me the military discount since I am active duty. I even got a 1 year/12000 mile warranty. I am so pleased with the work done and the service I received. Jenny told me exactly what to expect there were no surprises or extra charges or hidden fees or extra taxes. A company that did exactly what they said they were going to do. We have a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT. At 154,000 miles the "O/D OFF" light started flashing and I began to feel slightly firmer shifts between 3rd and 4th gear. I had Phil over at Capitol Auto in Waipio pull the codes and he found P0796. (Pressure control solenoid C stuck off). Unfortunately Phil doesn't work on transmissions and referred me to a shop down the road from him. We went there and they estimated $3,500.00 to $4,000.00 to overhaul ($1,400.00 to $1,800.00 if the transmission could be repaired without being removed). Looking for options I called Cutter Ford Aiea and spoke with my Service Advisor Jeff. He actually referred me to All Trans in Mapunapuna (http://www.alltranshawaii.com/). Jen at All Trans had me come down on Monday and have her guys take a look at it. Because of the age of the vehicle/transmission Jen suggested that they do a rebuild and quoted me a price that took off a $1,000.00 off the other guys quote. The surprising par was that Jen's quote included parts & labor (plus a torque converter too). I mentioned that I needed to have the job done quickly as I was leaving town and Jen worked to expedite the repair and was able to get the whole job done on Thursday. While the transmission was out the guys at All Trans found that my rear main seal was leaking. Jen quoted me $125.00 (parts & labor) to replace. A generous labor discount by Jen helped All Trans get the work done at the original quoted price. All the work (parts & labor) was guaranteed by Jen for one (1) year or 12,000 miles. This included the rear main seal too! Driving the Explorer home was a breeze. The rebuilt transmission shifted smoothly and effortlessly. I'm EwaBeachMana, I don't know why people seem to have bad service, with this place! I called first thing they opened, talked to Jenny, and was told to bring my Chevy s10 so they can see what problem I was having. So I did, and the owner took my truck out for a spin to see what I was talking about, and I even rode with him as he drove my truck. He noticed right away that the 2nd gear was gone! I totally felt that gear and no engage when it was shifted thru 2nd. It'll go from 1st gear to 3rd. I already had to fix my ball joints and this happens. The owner and Jenny gave me an awesome deal from other places I've called. They pulled my truck in as soon as I was leaving. They got started on it that day! Jenny called me the next day as I was on an install for my job down the road from all trans, and stated I had water in my trans, and what they needed to do. So I had asked my boss if he could drive me to look at the rust on my transmission parts, and crazy as it seemed it did have the rust on the parts! I went to see it with my own eyes and took photos of it. Then I called after lunch an asked how long it should take, guess what? Jenny said give them another hour, and I'll call when they finish! Sure enough I got my s10 back by 3pm! I was so stoked I clocked out work and went to pick it up! Price was unbelievably cheaper then expected! I'm just thankful for the awesome customer service by Jenny and the hard work, and quickly manner they got my truck to me! ALL TRANS - A First Class operation! in January (2015), we brought our 95 Ford Windstar in for transmission problems (slow to change gears and slammed when it did). A friend of ours, who's also a mechanic, recommended All Trans as the best place to work on our transmission. So, that's where we went. The receptionist/office manager, Jenny, was pleasant and personable. She even ordered us a rental car with a discount. The shop is really large, well lit and clean. The mechanics are approachable, knowledgeable, and professional. We left our car with All Trans and they rebuilt the old transmission and made the old Windstar more pleasurable to drive. It was a wonderful improvement, AND , they included a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty. Just a few days ago, June 4, 2015, we took it back to All Trans because we were experiencing a delay in the Trans shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. It was still under warranty (less than a year and we had only driven 3,000 miles). They checked it out and decided they needed to take a look at why it was doing that. They took it apart and performed their magic. Two days later, they called and said it was done and ready for pick up. We picked it up and it is perfect again. Good work. Good people. We even talked to Mike, the owner. who honored the warranty. In our eyes, he's an honest, reputable man who stands behind his transmission warranty and keeps his word. First off i would like to say a big THANK YOU to All Trans especially Jenny for her outstanding service. i have been calling all types of transmission shops on oahu and have actually took my car to two shops only to pay diagnositic fees twice of about $100+. each. both shops told me that my transmission needed to be rebuilt or swapped out which would have costed me 5000.00 plus. what happened was my battery on my bmw burnt out and burnt all the wires and the battery terminal after that happened my car went into a "Fail Safe" mode, i had no idea i just thought my transmission was slipping, but when i dropped my car off to Jenny she called me by the end of the day and told me my car was in a fail safe mode and thats why my car was doing what it was doing. i called BMW after and asked about that and they said its as simple as resetting it. I would definately recommend All Trans for anyones Transmission needs their shop is CLEAN they are HONEST and they are super FRIENDLY. and what i also liked alot about Jenny is even though i have a tight schedule at work and work far from their shop she still found a way to work around my schedule. this blew me away... most shops would charge you off the bat just for looking at your car. 2014 is the year i first started driving a Manuel transmission vehicle. First time experiencing my clutch going out and lost all hope of it getting fixed. Every shop i called would charge 150+ just to do a diagnostic to see whats going on with my transmission. Until i got ahold of All Transmission and talked to a worker named Jen. Very helpful and was able to get me situated with the process i would need to do to get my transmission fixed. Didnt cost me a dime for them to do a diagnostic. After having my car checked they instantly checked parks they could order for me, gave me options and was able to come up with a total of my parts and Labor all together. Its nice knowing to have a set number of how much i am going to spend then other shops saying it varies. I was able to get the money for both parts and labor the next day so they can go ahead and put my parts on order. Jen always kept me up to date with my parts so i wasnt left clueless on how long it will take for my parts to come in. Probably 3 business days later my parts came in, got my car to the shop and they got to work. Another 3 days go by and my car is fixed. More then satisfied on how quick it took them to finish and im happy my car is back and running again. Appreciate everything to everyone who works and All Transmissions. Definately reccommend bringing your car here for any transmission situation you may have. You wont be dissapointed. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! I would give -5 stars if this were possible. They charged me double for clutch slave master and other minor part, because I'm a woman (even tow truck drive told me this, but what else is new).. Went back TWICE because car wasn't running right and overheating. Found out they had drained all fluids (!!!) and not replaced them, because that's supposedly not their responsibility (!!!). They did not do ANYTHING TO CORRECT PROBLEM OR ADJUSTED PRICE, OR REFILLED FLUIDS!!!! My engine could have blown up, if I hadn't been so vigilant. Long story short, they refused to correct anything. Charged me over $1000 when shops in the area charge 450. Guess what!!! One year later, my clutch went out completely, took it to a reputable shop that was unfortunately not able to do clutch work. They towed my car to another Transmission Shop (after I insisted they not send it to AllTrans - owner of this repair shop also heard about shoddy work from other customers). So my car was towed to another Tansmission Shop, and guess what!!!! They were so "unimpressed" with the "work" done by AllTrans, that they needed to redo the work!!!!! On top of replacing the clutch. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Important: I called the Better Business Bureau, and AllTrans is not even listed with them!!! Do NOT ever go to ALLTRANS!!!!!!! read more

My front suspension broke off at the upper ball joint. I had my truck towed to All Trans to have it fixed by them. I was extremally happy with the rebuild on my transmission the prior year. I asked Mike to replace the one ball joint and he agreed but said I should reconsider since he said that if one side was bad that the others needed to more than likely to be replaced. I believe in Mike and his staff with knowing their business very well. Jenn is supper smart and wears many hats and can talk cars and shop with extreme accuracy. Every one from the mechanics to Mike and his really nice wife all treated me like family. This is a family owned and run business with Hānai staff members. This is a follow up: Now I have had All Trans rebuild and they have repaired 2 boat transmissions 5 years ago, my Ford transmission (last year), and now the suspension on this cherished truck of mine. Would I recommend All Trans! I'm proof of a returning customer and I would absolutely recommend their service. Mike has always given his fullest attention to listening and understanding. Mike took the time to explain to me in a way that made sense. Honest, professional, and excellent quality of service. I have had 2 of my vehicles within days at this place. First of all, the customer service Jenny, she's an amazing person to talk to and a great assistance with what I needed. Then came her boss, very nice gentleman, talked to me about the issues and they let me know from the start that some things may be able to fixed and that it may be pricey. That is understandable when you're dealing some types of vehicles. The owner was even out there working on cars, what owner do you see get out on the floor and get his or her hands dirty for work? Hardly any, well he was looking at my Audi and brought me under there with him to show me exactly what he was talking about with my leaks. Jenny, was nice enough to let me know straight up that it would be very expensive to get the parts plus labor. I can respect the fact that someone would give me the upfront honest answer about my car and I am very thankful. Each time I was in there, they helped to best of their capabilities and that is all anyone can really do that takes pride in what they do just like the team at All trans. One thing to keep in mind is, they are human beings and won't catch everything. On November 20th I drove up the (steep) hill to Tripler Army Medical Center my 1998 GMC Envoy SUV started to produce white/gray smoke from beneath the vehicle. Luckily I was able to drive the vehicle just inside the security gate spilling transmission fluid and leaving a 20 foot trail. I called USAA roadside assistance where they had a tow truck at the scene within 45 minutes. The tow specialist was courteous, congenial and helpful. When asked by the tow specialist where the vehicle is to be delivered I respectfully replied, "ALLTRANS of Honolulu Hawaii". The next morning when I drove to ALLTRANS I was assured my vehicle would be serviced immediately. We were approaching the Thanksgiving Holidays and I did not have additional funds in the budget for an expensive auto repair bill. Three hours later I received a call from Jen informing me the technician completed his inspection and also conducted a test drive. The vehicle was ready to be picked up and most importantly it was reasonably within my budget. The team was personable and they had the presence of mind the importance the vehicle is to our family. This review is a couple of months overdue, but I would like to say THANK YOU very much to Jennie at All Trans (front desk) and to the crew who worked on my transmission for my car. I was dealing with a couple months worth of disappointment, runarounds and false promises by another big business (I will be civil and decline to name them) who claims to excel in customer service. It was so much stress to not have my car for so long and to keep bringing it in for the same damn problem yet they having me pay big money to fix other things. My dad rescued me from that mess as soon as he found out and recommended to take my car away from the first business and take it to All Trans. I'm thankful for Jennie because she was so patient and sweet and by the time I talked to her, I was a mess. I was so stressed out I know I didn't even make sense on that first phone call cuz i didn't know where to begin. The car transmission was fixed, All Trans crew even went and took my car to their shop for me, so that I didnt even have to deal with those other baboozes anymore. Jennie checked in often to keep me updated. Also, a nice surprise was that they finished very quickly, even though it was last minute notice, and they were less expensive. I ardently recommend ALL TRANS owner Mike and the staff that has a consummate professionalism that epitomizes what a great Transmission shop is with a wealth of experience which I believe will give this shop longevity. Here the facts: * I had a transmission issue with my 2003 BMW 330IC had it towed to BMW of Honolulu which could not fix my transmission within the reasonable guidelines of my extended warrantee company. * After confirming with service manager that BMW of Honolulu could not fix their own automobile transmission due to lack of factory training I researched two local transmission ALL TRANS not being my first pick. * After talking with Mike the owner of ALL TRANS his knowledge was astonishing it gave me relief that my car was in good hands. * The shops superior craftsmanship and technically proficiency is among the best. * It's been 10 days now since I received my car back from ALL TRANS my car has super smooth shifting and no issues. Awesome awesome awesome customer service! We were recommended here by my mechanic Ted Araki, due to the fact that he doesn't do transmission work. Excellent service from start to finish being that it actually took me months to bring my 2000 Honda Odyssey van in. Called Jenny numerous times for information and she was nothing but professional! We originally had our transmission rebuilt elsewhere (not going to name names) and it was a total fail which cost us an arm and a leg for work that did not even last 6 months! Finally spoke to Jenny and brought it in on August 31, 2015 and got a quote (so much lower than the other place that so called "fixed" it). Jenny gave us an estimate of one week for the work to be completed. She called every other day just to touch bases and let us know how the work was progressing. Finally went to pick up our baby on Friday, September 4, 2015 and she runs like a champ! Jenny and the boys were awesome from the get go! I would recommend bringing your vehicle here to anyone that needs transmission work done or just need to brighten their day with a laugh by talking to Jenny! Great business, wish I had found them ages ago. I towed in a 64' dart with a blown head gasket. They quoted me a good price (based on looking at online price guides) and time, and got to work. The work was finished well within the quotes timeframe and price, and I drove out of there happy. The next day my car had trouble starting, so I called in describing the symptoms, just to make sure it wasn't caused by something they did. Mike actually took the time to walk me through several troubleshooting options over the phone. His advice helped narrow down the root cause, but I still couldn't get it going. He told me to have it towed in, and he would take a look. Turns out it was a completely unrelated electrical problem (grounding) that he patched up. We also found a leak in a hose, which he then replaced. I really like that he let me get in there with him so I could learn more about my own car. In addition to Mike, everyone else on the staff I dealt with was really knowledgeable and had good customer service coming out the wazoo. Unfortunately I'm no longer in Hawaii, and I doubt I'll find a mechanic on the mainland as good as this place. read more

I was referred to all Trans from a mechanic and other motor head friends after a few nightmare experiences with two ford dealers. I was on my last nerve when I got to Jen in the office , she was polite , efficient and professional. When Michael put my truck on the computer he found multiple codes left by the ford dealers mechanics. Michael reset the computer and said " drive it until the light comes back on and we'll see what is really wrong , I don't want fix anything that is not wrong ". After being through the dealership wringer that statement was like a breath of fresh air and I was at ease about my truck , which is also how I earn my living , for the first time in weeks. When I picked my truck up Michael told to call if anything was funny or it did not seem right. There was some funny shifting so I called and he said bring it back . I did and he diagnosed it for free and we talked about what happen , he suggested a routine maintenance solution that cost me $11 dollars and profited him nothing except earning him another grateful customer and a solid reference to anyone with transmission problems. Highly recommend. My truck was down for 6 months while I searched around for the best option. Couldn't be happier that I reached out to all trans. They were as efficient as could be from the get go. I called to get a quote, was helped by Jenny who was super professional and had the most wonderful personality. She got back to me the same day. It was the best offer I received after calling multiple places and the repair was effortless on my part. She helped schedule a tow to pick up my car from probably the farthest place you could be from there shop. They got to work right away. I was told the repair would take five to seven business days, ten at the longest. Jenny was also really good about keeping me updated throughout the process. I got my truck back on the fifth day so well within the expected time frame and the initial cost I was quoted. Plus they back the repair I did for 1year or 12k miles which was really reassuring.
