I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at Allure Dentistry. They pushed me to buy unwanted Invisalign products, disregarded my concerns, and inflated the cost of services. I had recently moved to the area and woke up one morning with my night guard broken. As I use my night guard to help with bruxism and jaw pain, I knew I wanted to get fitted for a replacement night guard as soon as possible. As my usual dentist is located in another city, I started looking up dentists in my area and came across Allure Dentistry. I stated I only wanted to replace my night guard today, and they were able to book me a same-day appointment. Upon arrival, my first impressions were that the office seemed clean and the staff seemed friendly. I did notice that there was a sign hanging that mentioned some affiliation with Invisalign. I first had a woman scanning my teeth to create images of them, and she was incredibly friendly. Then, Dr. Danialian entered, and this is where my experience began to turn. Dr. Danialian glanced at my teeth scan and said she would recommend Invisalign. As someone who had braces for years, I was thrown off hearing this recommendation so immediately, especially when I came to replace my night guard. I declined, and Dr. Danialian started stating that getting Invisalign would help with my jaw issues, which I understand could be the case for some. Still, I have already undergone jaw and teeth corrections for this reason. I felt redoing a treatment would be redundant, and I began to feel hesitant about Dr. Danialian's approach. I then reiterated I had only come to replace my broken night guard, and she explained that I should get an Invisalign retainer instead of a night guard and that I should also replace my lower retainer with an Invisalign retainer. She continued to try to convince me to use an Invisalign retainer because it was thin and comfortable. I had to repeatedly state that I had come for a night guard because it is thick, preventing me from clenching my jaw; therefore, a thin retainer would worsen my jaw issues. I felt that Dr. Danialian was ignoring my chronic jaw pain to try to sell me on Invisalign products. Eventually, she agreed to get me fit for an upper night guard, and I decided to use a bottom Invisalign retainer. She then asked about my last teeth cleaning date, and I stated it was about a year ago. She then had an assistant who explained that I would have to have a teeth cleaning before getting fit for my night guard and retainer. He explained that plaque on teeth can cause night guards and retainers not to fit correctly, so I was obliged to do a teeth cleaning. However, I already felt slightly skeptical, as I had never had to have a teeth cleaning directly before a night guard/retainer fitting. The assistant then explained that there would be around a $17 co-pay for the teeth cleaning. I was shocked to hear this, as my insurance covers two teeth cleanings a year. I brought this up to the assistant, who stated that my teeth had extra build-up because it had been over six months since my last cleaning, so they charged extra to remove the additional build-up. I was immediately shocked, as going a year between teeth cleanings is not uncommon, and my teeth are in fair condition. I brought up that I felt slightly uncomfortable and felt I was being overcharged for this service. The assistant said, "Oh well, if $17 is THAT big of a deal for you, then I can try to see if we can just do normal teeth cleaning. It's only $17, but if it is THAT big of a deal, then I'll ask." I was stunned, as it felt like he was trying to make me feel wrong for questioning the additional co-pay fee. I stood firm, though, and asked him to inquire with Dr. Danialian about this, and they ended up just performing a standard teeth cleaning instead. After the teeth cleaning and taking new scans for my night guard/retainer, that same assistant recommended I receive Botox for my jaw issues and handed me a paper with a Botox clinic's address and his wife's name. He said to call to make an appointment and tell them I was referred through his wife. This shocked me as well, as the whole time here, I felt Dr. Danialian and some staff ignored my jaw problems because they kept pushing me to get Invisalign, and yet, he then recommended a jaw treatment that seemed it would almost certainly give his wife some botox discount in return. This is just an assumption, but I felt uncomfortable after my previous interactions at this office. While some staff was kind and helpful, I recommend avoiding this office. They incessantly try to sell patients unnecessary Invisalign products, disregard patient concerns, and up-charge patients for services. read more

this place is my worst nightmare. It made me finally understand why some people believe healthcare is a scam. I just walked out of a regular bi-annual cleaning with $490 less. Please learn from my mistakes. DO NOT go here. I moved to LA recently and needed to find a new dentist. From the start during the x-rays, I was already having doubts. The young woman doing the x-rays was using the same hand to touch the piece that went into my mouth and to move around the light and cables. I know what dentist x-rays feel like, but these were noticeably uncomfortable. I had to push the camera out of my mouth at one point because of severe sharp pain, and she stood there smiling, explaining it's normal for it to feel "a little uncomfortable". I felt she was not well trained, if at all trained. 3.5 hours after the appointment, the roof of my mouth is still sore from her intrusive x-ray placements. I'm not new to x-rays - I routinely went to both the orthodontist and dentist growing up. The dentist came in to discuss her findings from the images - she's not friendly at all and you can see she means business. She pointed out so many cavities and areas of concern that I found it to be unrealistic. I go to the dentist 2x a year, so either my last dentist missed everything 6 months ago, or somehow I developed a ton of issues in a short amount of time. When it was time for my cleaning, the hygienist (she didn't introduce herself) came by scraping INTO my gums for "pockets". By scraping, I mean she was really digging - even when I tasted blood and tears were coming out of my eyes, she nonchalantly proceeded picking away, giving absolutely no comment on how much pain she was causing me or regarding the pool of blood filling my mouth. To add to my extreme discomfort, she didn't suction the fluids until the very end, and when she did, she told me I had 3 different areas with severe bacterial infections in my gums. I asked so many questions - would it heal on its own, was using antibiotics and lasers the only possible way to get rid of it, will it only worsen over time, etc. All answers led to: do the laser treatment for the mild infection before it worsens and treat the two on top with antibiotics. I tell her it's out of my budget to do all of this, and she said they can do $250 instead of $300 for the laser. She joked about how dental insurance didn't cover what patients really needed. It was strange she was able to change the price without asking anyone else in the office, and because I've never had any gum issues before and felt completely fine walking into the appointment. I asked so many questions I didn't even know what to say anymore. She demanded impatiently, "so do you want to do it or not". Since I ran out of questions and my gums were bleeding and throbbing from her "checking for pockets," I felt completely cornered and rushed into accepting the procedures, despite not being properly informed. Walking out, I immediately knew I was scammed by the way the doctor and the staff looked at me/ treated me. I felt so defeated and small. A month later, they left a voicemail claiming I need to schedule my next appointment for my cavities, "because we don't want them to get worse". I made the mistake of letting Dr. Danianlian and staff know that I hadn't had my teeth cleaned for awhile post Covid and they wanted to charge me $499 for a deep clean and laser treatment that wasn't covered under insurance. It made me really worried about the condition of my teeth so I got several more dentist opinions, and they all said my teeth were just fine with a regular cleaning. It was excessive, and I felt they were pushy with selling unnecessary services. My experience at Allure Dentistry was spectacular. I was truly impressed by every part of their practice, from the professional staff to the wonderful environment, and of course, the wonderful head of the business, Dr. Danialian. I came in for X-Rays, a deep cleaning, and to fill a chipped tooth that had been bothering me for quite a while. I came in on-time and they immediately took care of me, right on the spot. The hygienist was super cool and I really enjoyed her professional tone throughout the deep cleaning. She knew exactly when to warn me about sensitive areas, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. She took X-Rays and took the time to fully explain, in precise detail, everything about the condition and health of my teeth. She made sure that each and every nook and cranny was cleaned to the fullest extent. Afterwards, she showed me the "before" and "after" pictures, and boy let me tell you, I was SHOCKED. My teeth looked like an 80-year-old's set of teeth and she transformed them to a brand new set of teeth when she was done. My experience with her was nothing short of perfect. Afterwards, Dr. Danialian came in to give me an overall examination of my teeth, how often I should be getting cleanings, how often I should be brushing/flossing, and her recommendations moving forward. I was truly impressed by her professionalism, friendliness, and extent of knowledge. She proceeded to fix my chipped tooth which came out ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I also recently moved to LA and scheduled a routine cleaning at Allure Dentistry. I loved my old dentist and have scheduled routine cleanings twice a year for my whole life. This dentist was fine but she told me that they should remove my permanent bottom retainer (no dentist has ever mentioned this to me prior) and then she tried to sell me invisalign. i firmly declined both options for now and she was respectful enough. This however was followed by the dental tech giving me the worst and most painful cleaning of my life. After very roughly and forcefully jabbing my gums with her dental pick for the entire cleaning, she handed me a mirror and made me sit there looking at my mouth full of blood. She proceeded to tell me i needed to do the laser treatment because my gums were so terrible and that this was the only way to get rid of the bacteria. She harassed me for a few minutes but i kept declining the laser treatment and she eventually moved on. This office is a nightmare, avoid it. read more

1/31/2020: please read below! 1/30/2020: My wife is sitting here in tears as we write this together. I beg you to read their reviews to learn about the poor and unprofessional behavior I and my wife just experienced from this Hiba or is it Hibba? This place, in my opinion and that of my wife, is a scam. First, we have a dental HMO and they claim we owe them $400. How? Oh, a deep cleaning. We would remember if told it would cost $400. They claim they shared this information, they didn't. We have a dental HMO to avoid expenses like this. Then they claim we authorized her credit to be run and signed for it. At no point did anyone understand permission was being given for them to run credit AND Hiba or Hibba acknowledged my wife never signed any form authorizing a credit check. They told my wife if work was done a "third party" would handle things. What things? Now we understand that meant payment however nothing was signed to run my credit and I never agreed to any work. My wife signed a document from "The Lending Club" authorizing a $7,000 line of credit. Not sure how this was obtained since again, this Hiba or Hibba acknowledged no form authorizing a credit check was signed. Based on the fax my wife and I just received, it appears I did sign something from Lending Club showing I was approved for $7,000. OK, weird but not the worse part. Ready for this, I not my wife EVER authorized any debits against that money because she was unaware she even had $7,000 in credit. How did we learn of this $7,000? Today we saw her credit report saying we owe $7,000 and we were floored. This place is shady and if our experience helps others we strongly suggest you stay away. When my wife and I called to resolve the issue, Hiba or Hibba, the office manager, didn't like how disappointed and upset we both were. Too bad, when you are shady you should expect angry consumers. Here's the kicker, this Hiba or Hibba said she will only tell the Lending Club to remove the $7,000 from her credit report AFTER we pay them the $400. OK, not happy feel tricked into the $400 however to say they will not remove the $7,000 or at least $6,600 is unprofessional, unethical and very shady. It's no wonder why multiple reviews here mention negative experiences and interactions with Hiba or Hibba. My wife and I can't stress enough how shady, dishonest, and unethical we feel this Hiba or Hibba and practice is. Come on doc, if you care about your reputation do something about this. I am shocked at this type of business practice. Why would we be charged $7,000 for procedures I never agreed to, received or authorized? Why did they receive a line of credit my wife did not ask them to get or even look into? Again, other reviews here share their shady practice of calling it a "third party" without any explanation as to what this truly means. We will update this review based on how it is handled. If we take legal action, I will update that here and welcome anyone else that has had a similar experience with this shady practice to share with us incase there is a class action suit possible. My wife and I are not attorneys so we do not know if this is even possible. We are very angry and disgusted that a medical practice of any kind would operate in such a way. We are sharing out experience and our opinion based on only our experience and horrific interaction with this Hiba or Hibba. When my husband angrily shared we would look into legal recourse, Hibba, who doesn't stop talking even when you inform her you have to go back to work, said they too can take legal action. Interesting. Again, in our opinion this is shady, unethical and unprofessional. The ethical solution is to remove the inquiry from my credit and to remove the unapproved $7,000 line of credit. We'll see if they do what is right, ethical and appropriate. We don't care about the $400 even though we feel they are running a scam. Of course they will claim they informed my wife of the additional fee however she is confident that no one shared it would be $400 and based on everything else the entire hand (not just a finger) points to them being shady. I am a patient with TMJ and the staff here is so amazing, they always provide excellent care with my condition and to prepare me properly for any cleaning as well as when I had my crowns put on. Read what happened to Michael B above. Exactly same thing happened to me few months ago as I got a hard inquiry on my credit report when Hiba lied to my face that it was a soft pull. Truth is she had excellent salesman skills and were very persuasive and acting like she cares a lot (really hiba why didn't you go to acting school you could've won an Oscar). I was new in town and didnt have the resources to take an action but good thing I called the creditcare company right away to close the account they opened so I wasn't put into any debt but only my credit score hurt because of the hard inquiry. I can only warn those who decide to visit this place, remember what you are going for, don't agree to anything additional no matter how bad they describe your situation is and how much they act like they care about you and not your money and they wanna build long term relationship with you. At least go somewhere else for a second opinion (yes they will tell you to do that also but rush you into signing a 5k debt right afterwards) before you give them you SSN! Legally they didn't force you to do anything that's why they keep doing it without getting into trouble. Read all the negative views here all talk about the same thing. But they shouldnt bully ppl with their salesman techniques. I smelt something not right during the visit but I chose to trust them because I was fresh out of the army and new in town and they took advantage of it. Good thing I came to my senses right after. Many other dentists have their little schticks that are the practice potboilers, but Dr. Maronian has nothing more than superior dentistry to support his exceptional practice. I have difficult teeth with poor porcelain and an overbite that has destabilized my uppers, and I have now lost all of them.
