I was pleased with my experience, and you could tell the nail techs were all about business. They worked very quickly and my nail tech even stayed after closing to finish my set. The result for the pricing was absolutely not okay. I gota manicure, pedicure, and fully set for $235 and I tipped very generously. I got the building nail gel full set and after 3 days my nails started popping off. I got my nails done Sunday and by the following Sunday (today) I'd lost 3 nails. Experienced a very "no nonsense" visit recently. The staff I encountered were impersonal. Not friendly people here, no one is smiling or welcoming. However, with that said, the man I got for my manicure was fast and efficient. He did not talk to me other than to ask color and shape. It was a hot day outside and I was never offered a water or drink of any kind. The vibe I felt was that they do not like their jobs. I felt kind of sad after the visit. I've been a customer for about 10 years, but won't be back after my experience this morning. I was a walk-in customer, as the owner told me during my last visit that he actually prefers walk-ins over appointments. Two customers were ahead of me, no problem. What I did have an issue with was the way the woman who was working alongside the owner barked at me when I arrived, "No! Come back in 30 minutes!" I went here to get my acrylics removed and a shellac manicure done. I called ahead of time to ask for pricing and was given a $5 discount for getting my nails removed AND getting the shellac manicure done in the same visit. I assume this wasn't usual since the manicurist asked me who told me the pricing. But anywhooo... Alex did an amazing job on the soak removal (I did a soak off to save my actual nail for the manicure and the pain of getting acrylics pried off) and my shellac manicure. I was impressed with the quality, that it was so easy to get in after work on a Monday and that the customer service was great. The only downside about my visit is that it was obvious that the tools used were not sanitized prior to use. They didnt come from a bag AMD I saw there were quarters and specks of nail polish on the bottom of the container he got the tools from. Allure Nails is the best nail salon in Fairbanks. Van is my go-to, but all the nail technicians do a great job. I made an appointment, they took my temperature, and adhered to social distancing, including mandatory mask wearing for customers and technicians (who also wear a face shield). The salon is clean and I felt protected during my procedures. It had been a long time since I had professional nail care, and it was so worth it. Van took care of the ingrowns and cuticle repair like a champ. They are impacted by the road construction, but you can get there. Help keep a local business in business- you won't be disappointed. I've come to Allure for both mani and pedi many times over the years. Sadly, my last visit left me very disappointed. TWO days after my gel polish was applied by the male technician one of my polishes literally popped off my nail. FOUR days later and I've lost 3. I am almost positive he forgot to buff my nails before applying the shellac. He also gouged me with the cuticle trimming tool which is still healing. My gel is also fraying at the tips-- I don't think he coated the top edge of my nail either. Overall he seemed inattentive and in a hurry to get done with me. HOWEVER my mom went in at the same time and got a great gel manicure. So I think it was just the tech I had. It makes me hesitant to go back though. I took my Neice for a mani pedi for her Birthday, while my pedicure was at best just ok. my manicure was absolutely horrible the older lady just clipped my fingernails straight across leaving them uneven with sharp edges. Also caused several hang nails. took the filing square never filing the end of the nail, just raked over my cuticles leavening them split and torn. All this and charged a fortune. I come to this place with my daughter all the time tho get her nails done and she LOVES it! I put a five star because they give you a nice relaxing setting with relaxing spa music, a massage for you feet and back, and they get done with your nails it's always the perfect timing. The price is fair and they do a good job! This place is the best place to get your nails and waxing done! At the end they let you dry your nails at a fan/table next to the waxing room. This place is ok! The only place you can really call for a last minute appointment. Overall very clean, attentive, they will actually take their time with you. However its actually quiet pricey I paid 80+ for french tip nail manicure and regular pedicure. Great environment the people are super friendly and I love coming here. Any time I have an issue with my nails they fix it, no problem. I also get my eyebrows waxed here and they do a great job, always gentle and I get asked by friends who did them. I went here while visiting my family in Fairbanks to get a gel manicure for a wedding we were attending. Within 3 days, 4 of my nails had peeled/chipped off. I wasn't doing anything that would have caused the polish to chip/crack... washing dishes and making the bed were it. Sadly it happened after I had left town and was not able to get them fixed. I went about 2 weeks ago & got my nails done.. I was not pleased. I walked in knowing what I wanted but got told it was ugly & wouldn't look good. They tried to make me pay 95$ for nails I didn't want & when I finally had them do what I want he didn't seem happy about it.. he seemed like he was on something or sick because he kept wiping his nose & sniffing... & twitching out. Anyways, he pretty much didn't give me a choice when it came to stickers I didn't really want he told me it would look good. After he put the glue on he put my fingers in the light & my nail came out burnt looking like a marshmallow.... I had white & silver so he decided to add gold dots to cover the yellow from it being burnt... white nails 1 finger was silver & he put a red sticker on my thumb & gold dots around it.. wasn't what I wanted didn't even ask me if it was ok before doing it.. wasn't a good experience... probably won't be back. read more

I've been here a few times and this was my last. I brought my 10 year old niece here for her first pedicure and the lady who did hers was very rude and short with her. It would of been nice if she could have attempted to interact in a positive manner. I had a younger gentleman do mine and he was friendly and did a nice massage on my legs and feet. But the polish on my toes is dull. No shine. My daughter had a different woman do hers and it was rushed. I have tried several places in Fairbanks for pedicures, full tip sets and waxing.. This place is the BEST by far. Staff are friendly, remember your face and always do a wonderful job. I love that I can have my eyebrows waxed and not feel like I have no eyebrows left when I am done. I've had several artist do my nails and never had an compliant with them. The first time I went with a group of my friends and a young woman did my nails and she did an awesome job and was so friendly and gentle. The second time I went an older man did my nails and it hurt! I was just getting a basic gel polish manicure like I did previously. He sanded my nails and skin really roughly and was pushing way too hard when pushing my cuticles. He didn't even give me any time to look at all the polish colors until he was done filing my nails and then rushed me and picked out the color for me. He kept saying "oh very nice, looks good" to make me feel better about it. And when I left there was polish all over my skin under my nails and not all my nails are completely covered with polish. I've tried almost every nail salon in Fairbanks over the last few years and I've only been satisfied ONCE at US Nails our of the many times I've gone there. I didn't go to Allure until my last set of gel nails...worst nails I've gotten done hands down! The gel was so lumpy, uneven, thick, wasn't the shape I wanted AT ALL, and when I left it already looked like I needed a fill. I paid $60 for them and it wasn't worth a dollar. I love Allure! We go there all the time. Be sure to specify exactly what services you want, as I've had some miscommunications a few times, but it wasn't a big deal. They're always staffed up. I've made appointments at other salons and they end up not having enough people to do my group at the same time, so someone would end up being left out or taking the group WAY longer.
