I would give this place 0 stars if I had the option to. I went there to get a manicure a couple of years ago. The place was new and was 3 minutes from my house so I thought.. why not?? WHen I walked in with my friends that day, I IMMEDIATELY felt nauseous from the OVERWHELMING nail polish smell. They had NO FANS running AND NO DOORS OPEN for the fumes. I thought that the smell would pass so I ignored that feeling. When the lady was working on my nails, she was ROUGH when she cut my cuticles. My cuticles actually started to bleed!!!! During that time, I felt sooo nauseous to the point that I got very white that I was given a bottle of water. WHen it was clear that I was about to pass out, she helped me over to the pedicure chairs so I could rest. WHILE SHE WAS HELPING ME OVER, I FAINTED from the overwhelmingly strong fume smell and WAS OUT FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES. I had to talk to the paramedics over the phone b/c they had to make sure I was okay and also, Allure wanted reassurance that they weren't going to get sued or something. IMMEDIATELY after I walked outside, I felt SOOOO MUCH BETTER. That place honestly needs to get a couple of fans up and running in there or else they are seriously going to get a lawsuit from one of their customers. read more

I've never used the hair salon, only mani/pedi and brow waxing. Their telephone etiquette is on point, I'm greeted warmly when I arrive, too. I LOVE Ms. Carol. She is so super sweet, professional and consistently does a fab job on my brows. I'm less picky about my toes, but my thick brows and sensitive skin have to be done to my liking. She takes the time to understand what I want, even if it's been a horrid 2 months since my last visit. I come in looking like Oscar the grouch, and this dear woman kindly greets me, asks how I've been and proceeds to discuss what i'd like done to the brows. (Since, really she can do any shape when I've done no maintenance on them. It's scary, I tell you) ;-) Mani/pedi's have always been pleasant. I like that the pedi chairs are circling around a column, so it's not an awkward situation have to be right next to the next client. I've had Carol and others do my pedicures. They speak English to you! And wait, they actually speak to you more than their coworkers!! This creates a very trusting environment. I don't think I've ever had a disappointing visit to this place! I live in Manassas, and drive to these guys out of all my choices in Manassas and Bristow. read more

I went here on a recommendation from a friend and after reading the reviews here. I think everyone that has written a review for Eddie must not be blond because he melted my hair. I sat for a while under the steamer with bleach on my head, then at the bowl for like 10 minutes with more on. My mind was screaming to say something, but I assumed he knew what he was doing. He did not. After the bleach was semi-washed out of my hair, he went to dry it, but surprise, my hair was already melting and he could not get a brush though it. He asked which side I part it on and I said either side, however, I left with it all brushed back because he could not even comb it out. Also, it was still really wet, but when I went to pay they said, $100 for the color and $30 for the blow dry. $30 for a blow dry where my hair will still wet and not even parted or styled in any way. I could tell Eddie was just panicked and trying to get me out of there. It felt like a brillo pad/straw. It was awful, and my hair is still damaged a year later almost. A lot of it has broken off and there is a definite line where the hair was damaged and broke, so I have a whole layer around my head that is much shorter than the rest of my hair. Don't be fooled by the average low rating! Unfortunately, the nail salon next door shares the same retail space and name as the hair salon. I don't know anything about the nail salon except for the low ratings on Yelp. Let me assure you the hair salon is EXCELLENT! Eddie cut my hair when I donated it to Locks of Love at another salon. He was very thoughtful and took his time during the consultation even though I gave him free range to chop my hair off. I left the salon with the most amazing cut and style! People were asking me for a photo to try to replicate it! When I went back for a trim Eddie was gone and I was devastated! It took some begging but I got his personal phone number and I called him. Fortunately, Eddie was working at Allure which happens to be his mother's salon. After a horrible "trim" job from another stylist two months ago I was desperate to have Eddie fix it but I was nervous because my hair is short and any shorter would make me look like a mushroom head! Anyhow Eddie fixed it! My experience consisted with a nice shampoo topped off with a brief massage of the neck, shoulders and back! A small but wonderful and welcoming unexpected bonus! Eddie cut so little off my hair but made it look great! The whole time he cut we had great conversations. He is definitely a pleasure! AND he also did a great job waxing my eyebrows! My mother also got her haircut by Eddie for her second time. She is on the older and conservative side and Eddie was aware of that. I have never seen her hair look so fashionable; not to funky but not to grandma like. She thinks Eddie is a "natural". He has it all: great customer service, excellent skill and natural talent! Johnny (Eddie's brother), is also a pleasure! He was patient explaining the products to my mother and helping her pick out what she was looking for. She can be indecisive sometimes lol. I also have to say Eddie's mother was so welcoming and sweet too! She offered us drinks and a snack when we came in. Obviously, I have nothing but praises for Allure Hair Salon! I highly recommend! I've visited the nail salon off and on for a few years and I'm noticing a definite decline in the service and friendliness of the staff. When I first started going there, one of the things I liked was the all-Asian staff spoke only English around the customers. It's a little detail, but one that was refreshing from the other nail salons in the area. This is no longer the case. Today may have been my final visit there because I asked for a gel fill only. The tech took it upon herself to add shellac and then proceeded to charge me the higher price - $40. I argued that I never asked for the additional service. She argued that I would like it better (so not the point!). I don't appreciate being charged additional fees for products or services I did not request. read more

Paris and Mary are the best stylists, I love them, I recommended them. I've been with Paris for more than 5 years. But I had a bad experience with a manicure, it supposed to last 3 weeks and the third day my nails were a disaster. I don't use that service any more. Also, once I called to reschedule two appointments with Mary for my children, the owner took my call and she gave me a new day, the surprise was the day of the appointment, I had space only for one of my kids and Mary had 4 people at the same time, it was a mess and the owner just said "sorry". I drive 30 minutes from my house to be there, so I don't want to go back the next day for a hair cut for a kid, but that doesn't matter to her, only $$$ read more

We have a lot of fun and he's always done a great job. He will listen to what you want to stick to what your are asking for. I highly recommend Eddie!! He is great with short hair, color and longer hair. (I change my style a lot) They updated the salon from when I first came, looking really nice and chic. The Nail Salon is a separate business owed by a different owner but they work together so customers can do their hair and nails. If you are looking for a nail tech I would strongly recommend Chau. She is fabulous! In a nutshell you get a great salon at a reasonable price for this area. From when I started they have only gotten better. read more

I was in desperate need of a haircut and decided to get a cut after work while on my way home. I work in Chantilly and decided to do a quick Yelp search for a near by salon. I'm so glad I read through all the reviews because I noticed that though the nail salon received poor reviews, everyone raved about Eddie and the hair salon. Luckily for me, I was able to get an appointment with Eddie that evening. The staff was attentive and the price very reasonable. The hair washer gave me a wonderful head massage and rubbed my temples, nearly putting me to sleep! Eddie worked at a good pace and was a great conversationalist. I used to come to this spa at least once to twice a month for a pedicure with my girlfriends. Each of us has had a bad experience and the others left before me. There are only 2 of the 6 still going... I was the second so now there is one. They have increased their prices, decreased their quality of service and have hired people that are TERRIBLE nail techs. I actually was cut and hurt during the pedicure. The last 3 have been bad but today's was the worse I've ever gotten.They used to give toe, foot, ankle to mid-calf massages but no longer offer with their standard pedicure. You pay extra for anything more than painting a color on your toes and the paint job is terrible. I could do this or hire my 8 year old neighbor for a better job. For the money and this location I'm going to another salon highly recommended. read more

Im a half asian, half white girl and have jet black hair. I was looking to have some blonde extensions added in at the bottom of my long hair so that they would peep through, but I didnt want to spend a fortune. Eddie at Allure totally hooked it up. Most places charge hundreds sometimes thousands of dollars, but Eddie was willing to work with me. Ended up getting a partial set of extensions for under 300. I did bring and buy my own hair, but believe me, finding someone to do this at this price is a TOTAL steal. I liked him so much, I went back to hiim a few weeks later to get my hair cut, and he gave me a great cut and for under 30 dollars. Take it from me...I have spend upwards of 100s of dollars for haircuts from top places downtown DC, and I must say, Eddies cut was the best cut Ive had in a long time. My experience was excellent from beginning to end. After being greeted, I sat in the waiting area between the nail salon and hair salon. At first I was a little concerned because I don't really enjoy the acrylic or acetone smells that come out of a nail salon. But I was put at ease a few minutes later, realizing that I couldn't smell the slightest hint of a nail salon. The atmosphere was actually very pleasant. The shampoo and cut itself was awesome. I agree, Eddie is wonderful. I left everything in his hands and my hair looks and feels amazing. I have been wasting years and a lot of money on a "high end" salon without the amazing results that you get here. Love love love this salon!!! I have been to several salons sense we moved here recently. I was always unhappy with the results and expense of other salons. I made the mistake of thinking I would do my own highlights. It turned out awful!!!! So bad I frantically put on a hat and headed to allure. They greeted me as soon as I walked in the door!! Immediately was reassured they could fit me in and do there best to fix my mess! Paris did that and so much more!!! Love the color, love the cut and loved the price!!! Friendly and so helpful staff!! I had micro dermabrasion done and left with a red, almost bloody spot on my face. I told the woman that I wanted to get a brown spot lightened but she grounded down my skin so that it was raw and after it healed left a scar on my face. I never went back, needless to say. TODAY, I had the worst pedicure ever!!! I have been going there for years off and on-the hair salon is great and up until June I used a nail technician that was wonderful. She has since left. My son-in-law bought me a gift certificate for a spa pedicure, so today I thought I would use it. I was given a young lady who really didn't seem to want to be bothered; 1-she didn't know how to turn on the hot water, someone had to show her 2- she started rushing thru the process. She was moving so fast and looking everywhere but at my feet! She VERY LIGHTLY APPLY THE PUMMICE TO MY HEALS AND I MEAN "LIGHTLY"! I was doing a slow boil, when I finally said something and told another technician how unhappy I was and the other technician took over. 3-The origianal technician said something in her native language (how rude) and walked away. The replacement finished the pedicure, but did not apologize or anything 4- To add insult to injury, the replacement charged me additional money for a rock massage that I didn't ask fo for. 5-I showed the replacement the job that had been done on my calouses on my heals and she shrugged her shoulders! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS AS IF TOO BAD FOR ME.... 6-AND THEN, I didn'r realize it until I left - that she had put the wrong color nail polish on! I began seeing Gina for facials over a year ago after a recommendation from a friend. I was sold on her treatment after the first session, or perhaps during it! To begin, Gina thoroughly examined my face and had the same conclusions as my dermatologist. She then explained what would be beneficial for my skin's health, which is badly sun damaged. Step by step, Gina took me through the processes and adds in an upper back, arm, and hand massage. I am so relaxed and do not feel the need to get up and get going as I sometimes have felt in the past. Her treatments are truly fabulous. When we arrived (5 minutes early), and they had just taken a walk in. Be careful if you use the nail salon. My recent experience with my 11 year old granddaughter being pressured into expensive services by the nail technician was most unpleasant. This technician did not ask my permission and was rude and discourteous when questioned regarding the service for my granddaughter. While I am sure that other technicians in this salon are courteous and trustworthy, beware of this one. A really bad and expensive experience. read more
