I am a perfectionist, but I understand some nail places are not comfortable doing more intricate designs and styles. However, I asked, if they were able to do this.. I showed them two different pictures as well to choose from. They happily said they could do it. At first, I thought it was going well, but after they put my nail under the gel lamp with pink, purple and orange residue from making the designs, I was worried. I asked multiple times to fix this or fill in that. Once done, I asked them to clean up the colors that were showing on the nail and cuticle. All the did was "file it" briefly and put lotion on. I am no professional artist, but with gel, there usually is a brief second where they inspect and wipe over the nail with remover to make sure it is well. After $80 spent, and 2 hours sat in a chair I am very bothered. I dislike when I spend a lot of money for an outcome I could've done myself.

Westone Nails & Spa is the best nail salon in the DMV. Absolutely love Shawn and his nail expertise. I have been a client of Shawn's for over two years now and each appointment feels like a visit to a friend. He is talented, patient and always wants to provide the best service to his clients. He listens to what I want and always delivers! He is always keeping up with trends by learning new designs and nail techniques. I'm always impressed by his ability to recreate any reference photo I show him. Often times, I'll walk in with a color in mind and I'll let him pick the design for me. My nails always turn out flawless and his designs are on point! His attention to detail is amazing, especially when shaping and smoothing my nails to ensure each nail is even. Definitely ask for Shawn!! I'll continue to follow him anywhere he goes!

Went in for a gel manicure then had to switch to a regular, because the technician I received created multiple different shapes on my hand, even after asking her to please choose one shape (either rounded or squared). I initially asked for a pointed tip, because my nails were finally long enough to do this shape. They sent someone over to fix her mistakes, but by that time, my nails had become too short from the previous technicians attempt of fixing the shape on my nails. When I thought it couldn't possibly get worse, the other technician could also not file a nail evenly and her polish skills were even worse. It looks like I had my child paint my nails. Highly suggest to find another place. So disappointed, because I came here due to the great reviews.

I had such a fantastic experience at Westone nail and spa today :) made a spur of the moment decision to go with my 6 year old to get our nails done for Christmas. They had availability for us within 15 mins. I definitely appreciated how nice and clean it was inside. I opted to get gel pedicure and full set. My daughter got her hands and toes done. I really appreciated the attention to detail. I was definitely expecting to pay over $200 because normally for just myself it's $170. Our total came out to $145. Wow what great pricing. And this is literally with the fact that they also removed gel polish I already had on. I got one of their most expensive pedicures. The guy who did my nails is named Jay and I will definitely be back. It's really hard for me to find a nail salon I like in this area because most places are good at one thing but don't have great shaping skills and I am very particular. Can't wait to come back :)

After coming here in the past and being happy, I decided to come back. I came in for a full and pedicure. The pedicure was PERFECT, absolutely no complaints there. On the other hand, my fill is an absolute mess. I told the nail tech several times that the nails were not straight as asked her to file them. Instead she would buff them and do other things rather than fix the sloped nail. Square nails should not be sloped! It should be straight. I'm frustrated because it is literally six of my nails. Clearly they need to work in their nail shaping because this is a disaster. On top of that, she cut two separate fingers and didn't apologize or even acknowledge it. Definitely will not be returning for any future nail services and would recommend to stay away if you care about the shape of your nail at all.

I don't usually write reviews, but this lady, Yen, deserves one. I went to Westone for the first time and I just want to say if you want a good nail tech she's your girl. She's very conscientious... basically a perfectionist like me. She really does care about her work. Since I've lived here (13 months) I've gone to four different nail salons and didn't like the job they did or their products for cheap (lifting happened within the first week). Treat Yen well because she actually deserves it.

I really like the people here however I've been having to go back almost weekly because my acrylic nails are breaking. Get it fixed. A different nail breaks. Get a refill then a week later a nail breaks. Not sure what the issue is. Costing a lot of money. read more

I had a facial with Gina and it was truly the BEST facial I've ever received. It was totally customized to my skin and she paid so much attention to detail. There wasn't a subtle change in my skin, the difference was HUGE! I came out of the appointment with new skin. She even checked up on the status of my skin a couple days later. She really really cares about the quality of her work and that her clients see an improvement in real time. The results lasted for several weeks with the proper home care. Can't wait for my second treatment with her. She's officially my new esthetician. I don't need to continue the search. Gina is INCREDIBLE! read more

Sean is truly an artist! After going somewhere else for over a decade about 6 months ago I switched to Westone Nail & Spa. It's very clean and bright in the salon. I had always previously done gel polish but he talked to me about trying the dip, which I absolutely love, and they last 3-4 weeks. I started picking nail designs and there is nothing he can't do! Friends, co-workers and strangers are always asking who and where I get my nails done. I highly recommend Sean. read more

Be ware!! This is the WORST place I have ever gone too!! The lady had to redo my pedicure. The way she did my gel I might as well let my 10 year old daughter do it for me!! I walked in for a mani/pedi to kill time while my kid was at a birthday party close by. The salon was very clean. Jay was my nail technician and he was great! Called last minute and they were able to squeeze me in for mani and pedi before the new year. My other two spots were booked, so I was glad they had an opening. My nail tech was very nice and provided really good service. Nails still look good one week later. They have plexi glass at manicure stations which was a nice touch. I didn't sit near anyone else when I got both of my services. Everyone is masked and feels clean and safe. read more

Westone Nails is undergoing a lot of exciting upgrades at the moment! I had my nails done by the owner last week and boy has she been busy! She's spearheading a dramatic makeover involving new pedi chairs, new mani stations, fresh paint, and more. They are also offering organic manis and pedis at a great price. I think most of the makeover is complete, so if you haven't been in a while, check it out. This was my first time visiting Westone Nails and I came with a friend to celebrate our birthdays. The only minor issue was the timing of our appointments. Despite getting the same treatments, she finished a good 30 minutes before I did. We also got started a little late, but not a huge deal. I think they were running behind due to all of the renovation craziness, so I would guess this isn't a regular occurrence. I would definitely try them out again when I'm in the area! The technicians both were very careful and did an excellent job on our manis and pedis. Thank you! read more

This is the only place I will go to get my nails done. I always see Lana, if I can't I'll ask for Thy. They do an amazing job and the only time my nails last 4-5 weeks. Yes, my SNS has lasted 5 weeks before. Could have gone longer but they were soo grown out lol. I am very picky, especially about the shape of my nails and Lana always gets it right and doesn't mind me asking to tweak here and there. Everyone there has a bunch of regulars, so you know they're good! read more

My nail tech of almost 6 years is newly part owner of this place. I'd follow him anywhere. Clean, spacious, they use good products. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Location is great too, plenty of parking. If you go, ask for Shawn, he's a busy man, but you won't be disappointed. He's fantastic! read more

BEWARE!! My friend and I went for a spa day and expected this place to be good because of the reviews. I decided to go with the spa pedicure for $45 thinking it would be more relaxing with extra massaging, but instead she slapped some cream on my legs and wrapped them in old warm towels. Then when she was trimming my toenails she cut my big toe until it was bleeding. My toe still hurts two days later. It looks like a child painted my nails, it's a very messy job. I will not be coming back here, they charge a lot for less than sub par services and I left here in pain. read more

I have been to countless nail salons in NOVA but this is easily my go-to place for nails! I specifically see Shawn who is an amazing, attentive, and talented nail technician! He always goes above and beyond to give me the best set every single time and is extremely flexible with schedule times as well. I can show Shawn any picture or design from Instagram/Pinterest and he can give the exact results! Amazing work for a great price. I've recommended Shawn to all my friends and coworkers. I can't say enough about this salon, I have been going here for years. Gina does my waxing and facials and does a wonderful job! Even since the pandemic, he's work area is very clean and she wears a mask and gloves the entire time as well as cleans her work station between clients. read more

Since we live across the street we have made this our to go to nail salon. Service has usually been good. Salon is clean and staff is friendly. I was not very excited about our last visit. We stopped by for a gel manicure Saturday evening and the same night my polish started to come off. We went to dinner and a comedy show, so no extra ordinary activity that could have impacted a fresh manicure. When still at the salon I noticed one of my nails french tip was crooked. I asked if it could be fixed before leaving, as the sign in the salon states "mention any issues before paying or leaving." A technician filed it for one second then just walked away. Gel polish should last a bit longer than a few days..... read more

It's no wonder he always has a client with him; his talent speaks for itself. I'll admit, initially, I was hesitant to have a male nail technician work on my nails, considering it's a profession that's often associated with Vietnamese women. It seemed like a trade passed down through generations within families, a skill ingrained from an early age. However, Shawn shattered my preconceived notions entirely. He defies stereotypes and excels as an artist in his craft. Despite any initial surprise, I was thoroughly impressed by his gentle touch, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to create stunning nail designs. Shawn's expertise transcends any gender expectations, and his warm and welcoming demeanor enhanced the overall experience. I'm truly grateful to have discovered such a talented professional like him. During my visit, Shawn encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone in the most gentle and considerate way. I initially planned for a bright hot coral manicure and white toes, but Shawn suggested a daring neon yellow-green color. I'm usually a pretty boring person when it comes to nails, I've seen here! After seeing some of the designs they offer here, I've chosen basic manis. They're really kind and skilled. I all got the lavender pedicures, the lavender scrub smelled so amazing. The place has a chic -- modern. I'm definitely happy with my visit here. Overall . . . Westone Nails can always get me in, every tech there does a fantastic job, and the facility is very clean and neat. After awhile the quality and service of this salon has significantly gone downhill. The owner, Christy, is the main problem. She has inconsistent pricing, shady business practices, poor technique, and an awful attitude. I have never met anyone in my life to be so aggressive for literally no reason. A scenario that caused me to stop going to Herndon nail spa: 1. I consistently got Dip powder for years until my main technician rage quite (per Christy). The other technicians were unable to get the same lasting quality that my OG technician could do so I decided to start doing acrylic nails. Christy started doing my nails going forward due to the other techs not being trained. The website listed the cost as $45 which I always budgeted for. Christy insists that customers pay via Venmo and "never" put anything related to nails on the payment notes (she clearly is trying to evade taxes). Ok, fine, I pay via Venmo because I don't want to get yelled at on a Saturday morning. I purposely only have the $45 + 25% tip on my Venmo as my account has gotten hacked before, so I only have the amount needed per appt in my Venmo account. For whatever reason, the last 3-4 times I went to see Christy the price of the nails increased by $5-$10 then $12 then doubled. According to Christy it was because of the "shape" note, the shape was an inconsistent squoval shape. Nor did I ask for a special shape so I am unsure why she felt the need to do a "special" shape in the first place. Not that it looked nice either way. During the visit where I paid a mysterious, extra $10, Christy felt the need to openly mock customers for "only tipping $2" and for being "stingy". I was genuinely flabbergasted as I believe service workers deserve quadruple what they are paid. I have worked as a service worker for the better half of a decade so I know what it can be like. Fast forward to the end of the appointment, Christy was notably louder indicating the cost of the service. I turned around to her and said "oh the cost went up? Its $55 now?" and she responded with "no, the shape". Again, the shape was squoval and I specifically asked for a basic non-labor-intensive shape lol. Ok, I venomed and left, realizing after the fact, that I was the one she was mocking about the $2 tip! I was genuinely horrified lol! She must have felt that I stiffed her the previous appt when, in reality, I intended to tip 25% but ended tipping significantly less since apparently the cost was $10+ more than listed on my appointment booking and I genuinely do not recall her telling me the price increase. She increased the cost of the service for literally no reason other than greed and again without my knowledge. But what is most astonishing is that she felt comfortable enough to openly mock her customer(s), who had been coming to her for YEARS, to her face, in front of a "full house" on a Saturday morning. Again, she insists on customers paying via Venmo and gets enraged when people try to tip on card because she doesn't want to pay taxes on it. So again, I am already going out of my way to accommodate her. If she would just allow customers to pay via card and provided a receipt, there would be significantly less confusion. Ultimately, if you want cheap but decent-looking nails this is your place. You will most likely have at least 2 cuticles ripped but your nails will look nice and last at least 2 weeks which can honestly be hard to find. If you care more about ethical business practices and transparent pricing, I do not recommend this place one bit. I am a strong-willed person and even I felt uncomfortable in Christy's presence. Color, shape, size, or anything in between, you will not be treated with respect at this establishment.

At my next appointment, I mentioned my concerns and asked that she avoid using it or not leave it on as long. She recommended another gel manicure, but it started chipping within just a couple of days--far sooner than a gel manicure should. Unfortunately, I had surgery three days after my manicure, so I couldn't contact the salon until about a week later. Rather than simply asking me to come in, I was asked to send photos and initially told I had to see the same technician, even after I explained I wasn't comfortable doing so. They eventually spoke to the 'owner' and called me back to let me know I could have them redone at no charge. I felt like I had to convince them there was actually a problem instead of them standing behind their work. Even more disappointing is the lasting damage to my natural nails. They are now paper-thin and splitting (after 3 manicures with the salon), which had never been an issue before. I've since found another salon who, not only had a hard time removing the remaining product that was still on the nails, but is now restoring the health of my overall nails. Elite Nails should pay closer attention to the products and techniques being used, stand behind the quality of their services, and make it easier for customers when something goes wrong. If you're looking for someone who can do designs, Lily is your girl. I think Lily's prices are reasonable for the types of services that she offers. The nail salon is in a shared salon space. It's small but I like that type of feel better than one of those larger nail salons. I highly recommend Lily, I have referred many friends and family to her.
